Of all the times I've been to Blackrock Sands and walked in the caves, I've never been to the top of the rock to see that incredible view! Thankyou for sharing this.
Thanks for that. I'd seen an old photo looking NW from the top and it looked interesting. You could see where they had placed Black Rock railway station/halt - it was nowhere near the place, of course!
We went to BRS as a family on caravan holidays back in the 60's and 70's (I was born in '63). Lovely memories of exploring the rock pools with our bamboo cane nets, making sandcastles, catching crabs, swimming, and my Dad's car being parked on the beach, banana butties, footy on the beach and all the rest. The shove'a penny machines in the arcade on the caravan site, the table tennis as well in there. So many memories. The thing that was really evocative about this vid though, was the kite flying. What a simple and innocent pastime, that was so prevalent back then. I don't want to sound like a skeptic, but the same location today, at the same time of year, would surely feature people being on their phones. We are never off the stupid things! I am so thankful I grew up at that time.
Lovely vid! 🙏🌸 I’m a driver myself but I’d happily welcome a vehicle ban on our beautiful beaches… and a mobile phone ban too! 🙈 I know I sound like an old party pooper! Lol
If they banned cars from the beach they would need to turn some of the countryside into a car park. Better to have parking on the beach. It's probably one busy for two months a year.
nice vid

Thanks! It helps to have lots of lovely sand, and the sun blazing down too

Thanks Rochelle!. It's a long walk from Porthmadog or Criccieth, but a car park wouldn't go amiss - they'd still charge of course!
@@swiftymorgan5064 Majority of beaches do ban cars it’s nice to have a few open to cars and experience a beach in a different way
