    This was actually a pretty good show. It definitely deserved a second season. Of course, if it had been really successful Connie Sellecca might not worked on Greatest American Hero or Hotel. She seemed to have gotten the most famous out of the three ladies. They were pretty sexy on Flying High. Good times.

    I remember our local CBS affiliate (Boston) preempted this for some locally-produced series, and I was mad because it seemed like something I wanted to watch; looking back, doesn’t seem that I missed much.

    Isn't it ironic? Bobby Troup had a cameo appearance as a paramedic on this particular episode. Yet, he played Dr. Joe Early, who assisted in mentoring two young paramedics on, "Emergency!"

    Too bad there's no DVD release dates or any information on the series but I remember watching at least 1 episode of the series I hope that METV will pick up this "gone but not forgotten" series what attracted Me about the show was Connie Sellecca herself she actually did well for herself through out the 1980s after the series went off the air. She appeared on the Greatest American Hero & Hotel afterwards!

    Mark Carliner deliberately cast ex-models in the lead roles because he claimed he was more interested in "TV faces" than any actual talent the girls might have had. When he "pitched" the show to CBS executives, Pat, Connie and Kathryn were with him [they went up in an elevator that took them to the executive suite- and calls came from the ground floor before they came out, saying "Buy the elevator!!! You've GOT to buy what's coming up in the elevator!!!"], and read from the pilot script {a CBS executive at that "pitch" meeting said they sounded like "absolute stiffs"}. The network bought the series on the spot....and cancelled it in January 1979, after 15 episodes [three additional episodes were unaired in the U.S.].

      Barry I. Grauman I was a 7 year old boy at the time I saw this show but I knew they were all hot. Especially Pat Klous

    • @AllRequired
      @AllRequired 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Even if talent was a backburner issue to Carliner, those "TV faces" were not idiots. They made it a point to do their research on the subject. Granted, the gamble failed, but Sellecca's foot got far enough into the door that she was able to score two solid hits down the road and Klous eventually made it onto the Love Boat (to which FH clearly looked to be an unneeded answer).
      Still, at least Flying High didn't attempt to beat anyone over the noggin with any references to either the decade or its indicated mode of transportation, as Supertrain (the NBC answer) did. And the theme was also a lot of fun.
