Carol's sweaters were also the reason many of us watch the show.

Maude had much more personality than Dorothy, but I still love them both.

I once watched an interview with Bea where she was asked, "What would Dorothy say to Maude?". Bea replied, "Dorothy would say, 'we can share clothes but you should calm down'"

That was pretty lowdown of Carol's ex to want custody of Philip, saying now that he has a steady job and marrying the boss' daughter while Carol is working and living with Maude while raising Philip, thinking because Carol was not a stay-at-home mother and hadn't remarried, that made her an inadequate mother. Philip was capable of making a decision of which parent he wanted to live with. I don't know if that was the case back in 1978, when the episode aired, that he was allowed to make that decision, especially in the state of NY. Philip was 14-15 at that point. Vernon has been "buying" Philip's love with gifts and trips. Furthermore, Vernon and his new wife would have shipped Philip off to boarding/military school if he disobeyed. His father and stepmother would consider him "in the way". That was the impression I got. Philip, thank goodness, knew what kind of father Vernon was and wanted to be with Carol and his grandparents.

How would it look if Maude had just found out that Walter invited Milwaukee born independent trucker B.J. (Billie Joe) McKay to stay at the house while his 1979 Kenworth K100 COE (cab-over-the-engine) Aerodyne semi truck was being repaired just after having delivered brand new dishwashers to the store for its annual Flag Day Sale?

Warren Beatty and Julie Christie did a bunch of movies together but I don't remember any one where he gets murdered.

I think this would have worked better in a earlier season when Phillip was younger.
