    I'm glad you took the Mistral off and I could see your shirt with chest pockets and prominent buttons, I thought you were just really cold!

      H aha ha ha... when I was editing this I had to shout over my wife. First thing she said was "Randy? Was it really that cold?"

      Took me a second but mentioning the flannel and seeing the outline of the pockets was a good clue. 😂

    Very helpful , the very best comparison on these two jackets. Thank you

    for the woodsman: if you open die zips on both sides completly, you are able to dress or undress the anorak easier than the mistral. its like a poncho, you should try it

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's great to have those side zips for sure. They're also fun to unzip, plus your arm out of your sleeve and scare your kids too 😂

      I have a woodsman. The side zips are nice for quick access to things placed at belt. If I dressed on this woodsman with fully open zips, I have problem to put down back side because material is so soft and light. Back side is not easy to put down. When the back side will be made from heavier material the dressed on will better. This anorak with heavier material at back side has name Tracer.

    Great video. I like the depth in which you talk about those jackets.
    One question is left though: if you had to crawl or walk through blackberry-vines. How long would the woodsman last?

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good question! As an educated guess
      1. Crawl - roughly 552m
      2. Walk - roughly 13.6km
      The duracanvas is pretty tough. It's no Cordura, but it's still pretty tough

    Hello my friend...
    I own the Woodsman and the Pilgrim, which are both excellent!
    I was just wondering about the relevance of choice regarding the Mistral which seemed almost identical to me (except for the Moral Pach panels on the shoulders), thanks to your perfectly detailed video as usual, I discover other notable differences.
    Thanks for this great new video as usual.
    Here in France too, many of us appreciate Military1st, a great team and an impressive quality of products (say hello to them snail eaters) Lol.
    See you soon.
    Amicably.

    Hey, Moorlander, thanks for the comparison video! Gotta say, you have quite a good taste in terms of the outdoor gear. Maybe you can give us the overview for the roster of gloves you are wearing/using in your daily life/hikes?

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nick. Thank you buddy. I made some gloves content before Christmas and these are included. The ones here are the Humvee Plus gloves from Endura. Although they're designed for mountain biking they make amazing outdoor gloves - th-cam.com/video/ntySwe5x4nk/w-d-xo.html

    Thanks for this great comparison! I found out all I needed to know. I'm going to go with the woodsman as my shell layer for airsofting on winter days.

    • @MoorlanderEDC

      I've used my as an outer playing airsoft too. It's awesome. Great thickness, plus you can zip down the armpit zips for some cooling air. If you're on Instagram make sure to post something wearing it and tag me in 👍

    Awesome video, very clear! Do you think the Woodsman jacket would be suitable for everyday life, working a 9-5?

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, definitely. I'll wear this as an EDC jacket all the time. Walk the dog, drive to work, nip to the shop etc. It's nice and light so it's such a great anorak to pick up and get out of the house with

    More good content fella. I bought the woodsman after your first review of it and absolutely love it. Can’t justify the pennies on the mistral, and to be honest, prefer the darker green of the woodsman. HT is my fav brand by far. Take it easy dude. Looking forward to the dual camo wolfhound…

  • @tortoiseloverboy

    How's the weight on the fabric between the two? Is the Mistral material lighter and more breathable? I really want something similar to the hill people gear windcheater but in an anorak form and it seems like the woodsman might be thicker, but I don't like the morale patches and side pockets on the Mistral.

    • @MoorlanderEDC
      @MoorlanderEDC  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The woodsman is definitely the heavier of the two, and you can tell the difference when you pick them up. The mistral is definitely better for lighter carries and disappears when you take it off and stow it away in a pack. I've had a look at my mistral and turned the sleeve inside out. The stitch for the moral patch hook & loop isn't inside the pocket behind it and it on the outer layer of material. When the sleeve in turned inside out you have direct access to the stitching which is very easy to unpick. When you've unpicked the stitches the tiny holes will disappear with wear. It's an option. Hope that helps

    It s to bad you have not wear them combined as a system and if yes did it worked well as you said 1 was a mid layer and the other an outer layer !!!!

    • @MoorlanderEDC

      I guess there's no reason why you couldn't do that however if they were part of a system so they integrated together better, that would be pretty cool

      The 'Shoot' bit? That was a throw back to a comedy show I loved. When I first started in TH-cam I was struggling with a stammer and put on more of a character. It's a throw back to that and the comedy show. My TH-cam confidence and stammer have got a lot better and I've dropped it
