Avey Tare summed it up well: 'Music should be more than just something to stomp to - it should be more interactive. For us it's not always about just writing a good song - we wanna play with your ears in terms of colours and space with sound.'
Painting With gets a lot of hate, but as a collective album it is a texture madhouse and is another great album by the boys.. Centipede Hz wasn't given its fair due at release either, because everyone wanted MPP². I'm glad they stuck to their guns with the whole "no more harmonies" for that album, its chaotic bliss. Time Skiffs, I'm already drowning in you and I can't even contain my excitement for the LP after. You'll never see it, but David, you are my favorite artist of all time, thank you for putting your soul out there for everyone to see and hear. You've helped me and many. in ways you'll never know.
ik these are old comments but surprisingly, i recall him making some list of celeb bachelors on AskMen... really caught me off guard when one of my fave indie experimental inspirations was included on a 'hottest in hollywood' kind of article!
This feels more like a therapy session than an interview about music, so interesting. Interesting to see how much pain he's experienced with the time considering he's talking about an album I feel is very powerful. Thought provoking
“It blocks away nature maybe, but maybe it is nature for us” the line between human nature and everything outside of that is so blurry to us and I love that Avey gets that so well- observativeness is hard to find 🔃↕️
this interviewer is great and dave is too, he probes but dave is just dead honest, he's done mutliple AC interviews so they obviously appreciate his angles
I appreciate and thank the Channel for the interview, but I think they should defenitely change the questions, methodology, interviewer, or at least one of those. They're just off point in lots of cases.
Hot take: it's generally way easier for women in the music industry, but very look-based. Meaning, attractive women have the easiest in to the industry, and "ugly" women have it harder than men.
Did they record this at an elementary school?

i like how humble and sincere he is as opposed to how rough and explosive his singing can be 👍💪

Great comment. Exactly how I feel.
one of the better interviews, takes chances asking difficult personal questions that then enlightens fans about their favorite artist
