Hi - on the example with 96365 & 96360, those are 2 initial admin codes, I would have coded the 96360 as a 96361…you had a second example that explained only 1 initial admin charge and others would be the add-ons, could you explain the difference between the two examples please and also when there are IV Pushes and Infusions done at different times and different sites…thank you

Hi karun, when infusion and hydration running in same time need not to code hydration. But in your given scenario hydration after 12:31 i.e from 12:32 to 14:31 we have to code. Because from 12:32 to 14:31 hydration is not running with the infusion. so, the hydration is coded as 96361*2.

hi Satheesh Good question and the answer is yes we can code both IV and IM if both are administered at same time and we need to append modifier XU to IM-XU because route is different that is intramuscular.
