It's nice to return here after 1 year of training and see how much more I can understand it yet I still see so much more I need to learn. I went to my first competition and got absolutely destroyed but I learned so much from it about what I need to do different

It is. It's just most people practice tachi waza more and when you get good at throwing it's pretty easy to win the match by throwing. And ne waza's more effort if the other guy just stalls until they get stood up so it's not always the best thing to do tactically
In my second Judo tournament I was a Judo Yellow belt (a beginner) and a BJJ Purple Belt (not a beginner)...and I lost one of my matches by being pinned in Kami Shiho/North South. So, not only does Ne Waza still exist in competition, but Judo grappling can come as a surprise even for people with years of training in other grappling based martial arts.
I still really struggle with the foot placements during the throws. Even though I'm the smaller guy most of the time, I am having a hard time putting my feet close together (at least closer than the uke's) and I don't really drop myself properly so I end up getting my belt stuck on the uke's :/
Can I do this with a dummy at home ? Im training Muay Thai and BJJ in a academy but to be MMA fighter i would like to know some Judo and wrestling techniques
doing these types of drills really requires a good training oartner that actually cares to take the time and drill these semi-randori like rep sessions where they hv the right amount of resistance. Most training partners either dont know how to move or the are too resistant that u cant even drill 3-4 move set ups. I find this approach better when training wrestling were guys are better at adjusting their resistance
