"How can you tell the difference between a dropshipper and a reseller?" You read my mind, Jim. I was honestly thinking that just as you brought it up. 👍
Just wanted to give you a quick Thankyou! I came across your channel after looking into buying my first Saber and finding out there was a company in the uk called Padawan Outpost. I collect a few things and I always like to understand the market first so I know what level of stuff I’m buying so I’m not let down when I get the stuff as there’s always normally “a better version” of everything (completionist mentality lol) but this has helped me be patient and decide carefully what I want. I’m waiting for Black Friday hoping they have a sale but I don’t know if I have the patience! 😂 big yes to a collection video from yourself! Thanks again!
Ah thanks for checking my stuff out I appreciate it! I know for a fact they'll have a black Friday sale! Not sure it will include the high end sabers so if you're looking to get one of those don't forget to use my code 😉
Spot on advice Fulcrum & The Force, keep spreading the good word my guy. Definitely interested in an Installers video, finding those fine folk is somewhat of a taller order when you're coming from outside the circles they run in. I'm sure a lot of people would love some direction 👍
Great video Jim, and I 100% agree with all you had to say. Seeing the same saber reviewed time and again by different channels and realising that these are adverts not reviews is a big thing. Some resellers seem to be able to flood TH-cam with their latest product and I find most of this content pretty meaningless. It actually makes me less likely to buy from those sellers as finding a 'real' review of their products is near impossible! Dropshippers are just a big NO! for me. I am sure that there are some that are good people, but the whole model of sales they use says they are just in the business of selling lightsabers for one reason..... MONEY. Resellers and custom builders all the way for me👍🏻. On resellers I generally choose ones from the UK as that is where I am. I want to support the saber selling market in my own country primarily even if sometimes that costs me a little more! I also buy all the items I review on my channel (except for a few I borrow from friends) and would never dream of reviewing a product from a seller that I didn't have experience of buying from. I think the question of Custom non canon hilts is a tricky one and those who are making sabers for that market may find it is quite a narrow band of customers they are selling to. They are making some awesome sabers, but whether people want to buy them really comes down to if they like the aesthetics or not. I think most people in the market for a saber want either something really cheap (less than £150 or even less than £100) or they want something that looks like what their favourite character carries. Those that get into the custom saber side of things tend to be people that have been around in the saber world a little while and are exploring what is beyond that basic first look. That's a very small demographic and pool of potential customers, and sadly I think the majority of people buying Nexus/TXQ sabers are for the most part getting exactly what they are after. I have to admit that the custom saber market holds little interest for me really. I collect character hilts and am far less likely to purchase a custom saber even though they can be beautifully designed and crafted by some very talented individuals. I will support these makers from time to time but I'm just not as interested in what they are producing I'm afraid and my main reason to buy would be to support of the maker. Anyway great video and great advice for those looking for a saber.
Great video, Jim! Puts the video on the same topic in releasing tomorrow to shame! For another Sabersmith, The Saber Merchant is one of my favorites. Jeremy designs awesome looking sabers, and is a great installer as well. All around awesome guy!
Good video Perfect follow up to the first one. I to love Padawan I've not had a better saber buying experience personally. And also ForceSabers love my Raptor, the AZ and the Vendari sounds mind-blowing. But other companies I've used and recommend would be viresabers for their exclusive VHC compatible designs. The one negative about them though is the shipping from the USA at like £60 a time now don't get me wrong things arrive in under 5 days but man I wish they would let a UK company (cough Padawan 😉) hold their exclusive parts but they've not done it yet so I can't see it ever happening. DarkWolf also grabbed a few from him and in particular AusSabers let's DW sell some of his exclusive hilts which is fab.
Seconded. I had a look into Viresabers recently for VHC parts. Definitely a great company to supplement building a Custom Saber from Padawan Outpost for UK dwellers. Those pesky shipping fees though! 😂
I want to buy my first lightsaber and I’ve been looking at many different companies. I just wanted to know if Galaxy Sabers is a good company. Maybe someone here bought a lightsaber from them?
An example of dropshipper issues... I have just purchased a TXQ saber from Ali Express (who have actually improved their customer service in the last year or so) for $400 Australian. Exactly the same TXQ saber is on the Nsabers website (whilst not acknowledging that the saber is made by TXQ) for $750 Australian. Almost double.
Forcesabers are great, absolutely love the Raptor o bought from them and Ben is brilliant at what he does. Id happily buy another saber from them when i have the ££
I saw DXsabers selling at anime 405 in Oklahoma. The guy at the booth let me handle one and look it over, it felt like metal, it looked like metal, and the guy was pretty friendly, even pointing out some of his favorites. So... im a bit conflicted, ive heard they're bad, but their stuff at the convention felt good, even if i didn’t buy one (i ended up buying a katana instead, my inner MGR fanboy won), but yeah, im a bit conflicted. Plus, idk if there's anyone else who sells stuff like an 11th doctor sonic screwdriver lightsaber, or an MMPR Dragon dagger or power sword lightsaber, so... yeah, im very much confuzzled, to quote my brother. (Note: i am American.)
@megatron8449 they are just a reseller of other people's products and as they've been banned from selling stuff from all the main companies they just sell 3rd rate stuff, it may feel good but the internals are awful and I have had the worst experience with them, if you look through my channel you'll see a couple of vids I uploaded about them or rather him and the way he treats people, please stay far far away!
mate, are the empty hilts from the saber armory a premium compared to the "normi" sabers from china? whats the difference in a nutshell? I'm considering a DIY Kit...
Yeah they're definitely a premium, they're made in small runs and the attention to detail and accuracy is to the point, I have a KR Sabers Luke and it's as close to screen accurate as you can get, obviously the cost of getting it installed adds to the price but its definitely worth it!
Hi! So I've not used them personally but I have a couple of friends who have and they seem to be pretty decent! Always have a look at padawan outpost and darkwolf cos they do some of the same stuff, but I don't think you can go wrong with saber theory 😊
@roulascandali5280 I wouldn't go anywhere near n sabers personally, I've only ever seen 'reviews' from people who have been sent them for free no actual customers
Love your videos. I've been Padawan Outpost all the way since I saw them at Comic Con last November but its great to know about other companies too. PO's customer service is out of this world as well.
I think im gonna ignore the middle man and just buy directly from the wholeseller in china. I see bad experiences with almost every company. People got to understand it's electronics not everything is 100% off the line there's always room for error and there's going to be malfunctions and parts that don't work that's just the nature of technology. Especially technology that comes from China and is overpriced.
A video on installers would be great - not many people understand the differences between a custom installed saber versus something like an off the shelf nexus or TXQ hilt!

Watched the whole video and I can say this will definitely be super useful for many people!💜
Thanks I hope it will!
Thanks for this! Great resource for someone relatively early on their saber journey.
Definitely would enjoy a "best installers" video.

Dark wolf and viresabers sell the same stuff for cheaper.
For the US is NeoSabers a good company?
They're not a bad company, they are however quite expensive, most sabers are about $100 more expensive than other places for the same hilt
