Like I said, you have to make sure that the color you want to erase is red or whatever you want to erase, then you hold down right-click to erase it, to make the eraser bigger or smaller is to press ctrl - +/plus sign, and yes it can work on Windows XP, I have both versions too, they are pretty much the same by the way. When your in paint, put the color of your sketch in the first box and white (or your background) in the second. Pick the eraser tool. Right click and scribble all over the sketch and it should go away.
