Why do people think that quite ambient space music is only for meditation? This is beautiful music by itself.
Yes, it's wonderful for activity as well.
Because most people don't realize listening to music isn't meditation. LOL
Actually healing for me. With ADHD since childhood it suspends my wandering awareness so I can focus. This genera has been around since the early 1980s and was hard to find. Then HOS Radio came into being. I've been a loyal fan since. I'm an illustrator and do album covers for some artists. It helps me actually do the work. I love to get the music for an artist's album and "channel" the art. My dharma to do. 😇
Especially considering most practitioners of meditation don't even meditate to music. I think it's mostly due to the marketability of the term and how well it works as an umbrella buzzword for relaxing music to the masses.
Amen. Steve Roach's compositions literally helped save me from myself.

My favorite ambient music of all time is Structdures from Silence. A few of these tracks are a worthy tribute. Most are too busy.

La primera vez que escuché a Steve Roach, fue a través de un cassette original, y me entristeció que una obra tan bien estructurada, durase tan poco... Pero mejor así que este gomoso tributo, que se aparta de tan magnífica obra, para convertirse en un chill out del montón. Mejor haberla dejado tal como se realizó.... Una pena este pastiche para una obra tan esencial en la carrera de Steve Roach.

This 1st song always affects me in the deepest and darkest ways. I find myself getting redeemed, in some ways. I find I reach the darkest soily roots of my human condition. When I was listening to this song 10 years ago I had a vision of a little soily alien-ish child putting his head in a electric socket, the seeming impending father and mother not illustrated, but overbearing still over the child. Is this my deepest and darkest truth? Or did I really have a good childhood, or did i have some mix of both. Or was only an issue of teenage angst the producer of this vision.
Can this song overcome the deepest and darkest problems i have? I think in some ways it reaches the threshold.
