Crazy how stuff like this is therapeutic for depression. Work, dating, hanging with friends, none of that really helped. Since my mother passed away, I've just wanted out of this world but since CBL, I actually enjoy living. Thank you for helping me detox and find the magic in life.
amen man i mom just passed too... music helps the most
Keep at it, friend. We believe in You!
Music is the most powerful artform.
Keep on keeping on!
this is beautiful to read. hoping here that you're better now. already 3y in the future.
Possible side effects of this album: floating into another dimension.
He's not even joking. Close your eyes for long enough while listening to this and you might decide to take a break from your body & mind and float on off.
Goodbye.
I solve Fermat in 3 lines
Suppose
X^3+Y^3=Z^3 => (X+Y)^3=(Z+m)^3 => x^3+y^3+3xy(x+y)=z^3+m^3+3zm(z+m) =? 3xy(x+y)=3zm(z+m)+m^3 => 3SP=3S'P'+m^3
named S=x+y, and P=xy.S'=z+m va P'=zm, Vi S=S' => P=P'+m^3/2S. X^2=SX+P=0 => X^2 -SX+ p - m^3/3S=0 => m=0 => .X+Y=Z
2-3 min is enough for that
interlooping ;)
I remember when my oldest son at the age of 9 became very emotional when listening to "20 Minutes" and started to cry... he told me, that he missed the times when we (he, his younger brother and I) used to drive around by car for hours at night listening to nothing but CBL-tracks...
I'd do the same to my daughter
+dreambient1 you sound like a great father. Your boys are very lucky
ahahahah
so deeep
cool parent for the win!
I'm 41 and I just discovered CBL....the irony of this "background" music is that it demands your full attention. Amazing
Finally someone said it.
I'm glad you discovered how deep the "background" music can be.
Exactly my thoughts
God bless
It's more like it's grabs you from whatever nonsense your dealing with.......
I was saving some shrooms for a rainy day and after listening to the first track, I've decided it's raining today.
People that need stuff to make life easier or happier or funnier ...weakkkkkkk😂
@@rises889 You apparently have never done psilocybin. Sounds like you could use some. It might help with your self righteous judging.
@@rises889people that make fun of other people's desires in the comment section on TH-cam are totally pathetic get a life kid
Word
People who judge others on how they live their lives to feel better about themselves. Weak
With music like this, I dont mind having no friends.
Let's be friends:)
be friend to yourself
first: you won't need any friends anymore
second: you'll meet new friends (trust me)
Rudne Paskudne Marudne what a words . Thank you sir
Maybe you should just open your shop once in a while...
Some may call this junk. Me? I call them treasures.
Listening to this album reminds me of when I first discovered it in my early teens. I met my first true love while I was listening to this album for the first time, and this album stayed with me throughout our entire 5 year relationship. The track "Frog" in particular was the soundtrack to the first kiss we shared.
My childhood sweetheart and I broke up many years ago and haven't spoke since. Although I've moved on and live my own life now, it's strange how this album still holds so many raw emotions, which all come flooding back every time I listen to it. A truly incredible sensation of nostalgia unlike any other I've ever felt before...
I still wonder, sometimes, how she's doing and if she's okay.
But as with all memories, they can never be re-lived. However, we can thank them for what they gave us, and what they helped us develop into. So in case you ever happen to stumble upon this comment, Carbon Based Lifeforms. I just wanted to say thank you for for giving me a beautiful adolescence. I'll never forget everything you've done.
Take care.
Everything you just said applies to me and my first love but with the album: Transgression by Fear Factory :)
Thanks
Alden Doble lovely memories.
That’s beautiful !
Reminds me of thanking my first love…
I hope your lady comes in here….
I hope cbl reads this, that's beutiful.
I was insanely insomniac until I discovered this band. Falling asleep to them is my favourite thing in the world.
this music provides calmness which is normally obstructed by your noisy mind i guess
this is just temporary solution until you find out that you have to search for peace in yourself
word of wisdom from random internet guy
thanks random intenet guy
@@YardaFreeman What brings peace is the mind focused on something that the individual enjoys while letting go of unwanted thoughts. As opposed to a wandering mind imaging all kinds of unwanted scenarios. Anything can be used to focus: chants, breath, a word repeated in your mind, singing, dancing, writing, listening to external sound of life around you. So yes, being dependent upon music isn't ideal, but just using it as another means of focus is fine. Use whatever is closes at hand. I mean meditation is basically focusing on your focus/awareness, haha.
I'll give it a try, lately I'm having trouble falling asleep
You might like Pearl Moon from Andrzej Rejman. Enjoy.
Anybody out there still listening in 2021 ?
CBL has taken me through my darkest hours and led me to the light.
Yes, the algorithm just recommended it to me, I'm glad it did because the world is looking really dark right now, I fear it is only going to get worse from here, far worse, maybe even end of the world as we know it worse, YMMV.
Still listening 2022🥰
@@PERHANAT
Right here with you.
2032 😍🤌
Still listening until the end of time. Now it's 2024! 😉
This is one of the best album in the human mankind, no questions
Luca Roncone ABSOLUTELY
+Luca Roncone The human mankind? As opposed to the alien making?
+Mindless Ambience yes, they do primarly dub step =)
Mindless Ambience hahaha word
Yep and now their new one :)
Writing code to this is just the greatest thing ever.
yes, also study calculus and analysis I find
Also living life
I'm doing the exact same thing. Amazing!
Weird, naturally writing some Android right now.
How does one naturally write android? lol
The Irony of this is I came looking for a melodic death metal band and I actually quite enjoyed this haha!
djentledavis Haha know the feeling man! I came across this when looking for some slam death! Still really nice though. XD
+djentledavis guess i'm one of those, kind of
+djentledavis I like all kinds of different stuff. Not very much mainstream on that list. If you seek... you will find.
+djentledavis Hahah, same here. A fan of both metal and this, both genres put me in the right state when needed :)
+djentledavis What was the band and the song?
One of the best music albums ever made. No one can refute this statement.
to be honest.. track called ,,Init´´ is the most emotional song ive ever heard in my whole life...oh my god....im speechless.....im crying everytime .....i can´t see through my tears but i Love You all !
I completely agree. I need to find more songs like that one. The weird yet nostalgic sensation that song puts me through is my dopamine
@@veltzon4322 You might like Fahrenheit fair enough by Telefon Telaviv
Favourite tracks: whole album
You took the words out of my mouth ^_^
Man Of No Ego I think for me it would go something like World of sleepers > Hydroponic garden > Interloper.
The Nightmare hydro was my fave album. Then the path. And refuge
Absolutely. I'm happy that I'm one of the few people who actually got the double LP "re-release". Call me pretentious, but I like popping this onto an old vinyl player and relaxing to it.
Having it is fine, bragging about it is what's pretentious... and it's other things too
Supersede is one of the best tracks I've ever heard. It shoots me to the moon every time.
, pure magic
*Shudder*
That was the orgasmic, space travelling sound that first ensnared my attention all those years ago. CBL is truly unique like Odesza, Aphex Twin, Crystal Castles, Moby, Orbital...
I agree
This mix really takes me back to a time in my life where it was my only escape. I'm so glad I made it out alive. Listening to it now it all comes rushing back. All the feelings long forgot. Time is a strange concept. Music is one of the few things that transcends the gaps of time. It's still captivating and hopeful for the distant place of peace deep in ones heart.
That's beautiful. Glad you made it out alive too!
❤🙏
Rediscovering it 10 years later, is undescribale feeling. Quite could call that dark night darkest of them all!
This music is a new discovery for me, but the idea of time as a strange concept really hit a nerve while listening to this. I forget that I am 60, I am still the 20 something whose life was turned upside down by loss. It takes you back, makes time fluid, non existent. He never really left, and somewhere in time another story plays out...
no such thing as time only now, time is a man made thing.
randomly came across these guys googling for "carbon based lifeforms" after watching a sciency documentary about the universe. and now i'm traversing the stars listening to them :) so good.
This music is on another level, never forget the day I discovered carbon based lifeform's...
for real man.
I can forget the day because When I listened to this I forgot about dayness
I used to just listen to World of Sleepers if i couldn't sleep. Now i can say that i am addicted to CBL, i listen to it everyday at least one album once.
The fact that this music exists and that there are no radios (at least in my area) that broadcast this type of music is still strange to me.. Alot of people find this music depressing, I find it touching and powerful. Brings me tears of joy sometimes.
i forgot the day but will never forget them
Interloper was my first CBL experience. Was immediately hooked. Combine with some CBD is also nice
The atmosphere of this album! A place your heart knows but we can't see, a place very familiar yet we haven't been there. In another dimension, hopefully someday I will find you.
The background music of the universe.
The cosmic background radiation
Love seeing the connectedness everyone experiences from listening to this. Like we share a common bond and understanding of each other and we're brought together listening to this album.
Central Plain is an absolute masterpiece.
The whole album is... But Central Plain definitely stands out.
Amazing
Right Where it Ends into Central Plains INTO supersede is IMO, the best part of the album
I used to listen to this album when I went to sleep with my then 1½ year old. It was a time of dismay and chaos for me, but those moments and this album still lives to bring me joy, happiness and beauty. Thank you for this music, and thank life for the wonderful sons that I have
This album has the strongest opening in any ambient record I’ve listened to in like 15 years, and it never loses that momentum. as a long time CBL fan, this one’s my all time favorite. Love it!
th-cam.com/video/j2BnNBeh1v8/w-d-xo.html Try this one also. Music from other D sound like home.
@@kirilstoyanov5357 beautiful mix! I'm a big fan of Suduaya but some of these tracks I'd never listened to before. do you know the name of the 2nd one by any chance? (starts around 7:30)
@@mohsenmansouryar6446Sudaya ... yes..
I SOMETIMES, have to tweak the tempo...
Very few artists deliver the amount of incredible songs these guys do in one album. 80% of there music is infinitely replayable.

10-13y ago I used to listen to CBL when falling asleep. The albums were usually on loop. In almost every case, I experienced vivid lucid dreams (I woke up and walked around the room, listening to their music whilst watching my body sleeping on the bed). After those dreams, I remember waking up in the morning super rested, like it was the best sleep of my life. Years passed by, I was still often listening to CBL, but not before sleep anymore. Recently I did it again, played Derelicts before sleep, and there it happened again, both to me and my partner. Vivid dreams, body's sleeping, but both of us awake within the sleep and listening. In the morning I shared it with my partner and described the spontaneus geometric colorful shapes I was seeing in front of my eyes, like in the caleidoscopio. And she said she experienced exactly the same. No drugs involved, just the music playing during the night. I mean, there is something shamanic and hypnotic within their music. Something I like to describe as universally good.
this isn't abnormal, it's actually proven by science.
I don't get how some people don't like this. If it ain't hip hop they don't want to hear it. I guess it takes a special kind of person to enjoy this beautiful music
My missus hates it... she says that, "it goes nowhere"..
Sadly.. she goes nowhere and is adamant.
Love her though
My girl doesnt care for it. I swear she is wound up WAY too tight and doesnt know how to relax. And most strange, isnt in to any kind of music. Odd
I'm a thrash metal head, but this, this is the detox that I've only recently realised I need. Ultrasonic cleaning for my brain
great music recently discovered by me, a glass of wine a comfortable armchair and you are immersed in a fantastic world
This music is so goddamn underrated. I'm glad though because the "scene" isn't over saturated with cookie cutter dopplgangers trying to o the same sound
haha, good luck to anyone trying to replicate CBL's sound ;))
Supersuede - definitely one of the best track of CBL of all time!
I actually place this in the top ten "pieces of art work, of all time" I know I sound crazy, but I mean it.
A young man in a record store in Portland OR turned me on to this!!!thank you also for putting this on TH-cam!!!
Dunno how I ended up here, was looking for early seventies prog rock and thought I would give this a listen whilst I was passing through, glad I did its beautiful and atmospheric.
+Dave Robinson
You might want to give these guys a try...somewhere between 70s prog and CBL...
"I am your Autopilot" and their album "The stillness of the Sea".
Let me know what you think ; )
+Robert Cooper Yes they were good Robert , checkout Lustmord and listen to it on the dead of night.
I'm in America for a month now and I'm missing my home, family and friends in Dubai very much. This music seems to take me to those joyous moments as well as the frustrating moments. I write with tears in my eyes. Absolutely beautiful. Love you CBL .
I'm gonna buy this album tomorrow.
That's for certain.
2021 edit. Got the album back then.
Still a very good album.
holy shit i just found out these albums were remastered and now im gonna have the fattest CBL binge ever. SO GOOD.
I listened to it with my girlfriend, I was in love with her, when I listened to this song, I felt very peaceful, I wanted that moment to never end, but every beautiful thing has an end...
Supersede is absolute magic,
unskippable whenever it pops up on the playlist,
like something is pulling me in and I dont even wanna escape.
I have kept coming back to this album the last two years. It's always been around like a warm embrace. then it hits you. the sheer beauty of the music. pure joy for me.
Это невероятно. То же самое. Уже 9 лет
consider yourself lucky to find this gem!
That's what I said for a different... Whatever
@@KobesMind I understand
Interloper and Frog are my two songs that bring me back down to earth when your mind is racing for no good reason.
Carbon Based Lifeforms and Boards of Canada feels like real mushrooms trip. Im not gonna lie but if i close my eyes i can feel something ethereal that beyond space and time and with my eyes closed i can see.
This is the musical equivalent of a human being who uses the least number of words to convey the deepest and most beautiful feelings. Being alone never felt better :)
You were never alone. we come from the same consciousness. we are just experiencing the world at different time and locations.
well said my friend
The best melodic album from CBL
Period.
From 0:00:00 to 1:14:57 it was great but after that it got kinda boring.
+Henry Audubon haha no doubt my friend
+Carbon .Based Will you ever release hard copy's? I really want to buy hard copies of your albums.
+POSHI not the real carbon based buddy
Galactic Empression yeah I realised a couple days after I posted it.
+Henry Audubon haha I see what you did there... :D
Best CBL album. Always gives me chills.
Been an avid collector of Tangerine Dream since college (it as the only music I could listen to while studying) and REALLY happy to have discovered this band... Ordered Twenty Three, The Path and Derelicts today.
be aware, their albums take on different styles. You can still tell it's cbl, but twenty three for example is WAY more ambient
Ricochet , Stratosphere , Cyclone...etc... I grew up listening to Tangerine Dream !!! My electronic past ;)) Love CBLF, Shpongle ,etc ; but never forget the roots of this wonderful tree !!
derelicts is amazing
This is just a spectacular album. Simply their best. The best of the best.
Album cover- I was born and raised in Poland. Every summer I used to travel 900km to my Great Grandmother to stay there for 2 months. On our journey by train we had to pass across whole country. At 5-6am when I was not asleep anymore I used to stare through the window looking at same trees, same light and same feel.... Passing by in thousands while trais was running through almost never ending forests...
I feel like crying after reading comments on this music 🎶 amazing 😉
Bright delphic disillusions
Paints the way, vivid grey
Follow that, luring path
And take the leap
Right where it..
Here they come, twilight times
Prepare yourself, for the fall
Let dark light ease the impact
And take the leap
Right where it ends
Funny how big CBL has been apart of my adult life thus far....I still recall vividly the first time listening to them the summer after I graduated High School in 2011...I was just getting into Psybient/Psychill and the name "Carbon Based Lifeforms" really struck with me so when I ingested morning glory seeds and came to a state of euphoria the whole CBL discography was playing in the dimly-lit room on shuffle.
They've been my all time favorite group ever since.
7,8,9 great tracks for the soundtrack of anyone's life
I want to listen to this on headphones and walk through a really nice forest on a cool summer day
Stole my thought only I would walk on a rainy evening same place
Try the same, but the Shadows fore and aft from half-life 2 soundtrack !
Same, but I want to walk through a weird colorful forest on some foreign planet instead
Don't get mauled by a bear...
Same, enhanced by some good shrooms :)
Don't even care to admit it, I rarely cry more than a handful of times a year and I just blubbered like a baby to a majority of the second half of this album, this is absolutely a masterpiece.
An angel just tipped it's halo to this humility.
Music bringing people to confront their humanity
My deep yoga practice, with this music, has been a fantastic experience. Thanks a lot🙏 from Italy🇮🇹❤
Every single time I play this album, my whole mind, soul and body instantly relax. I love this music so much. God bless
Agreed. I can't stop listening to this album. Keep coming back and it's incredible every time
YESSS
Euphotic makes me really, really sad but in a spiritual kind of way that's hard to explain. It's like an affirmation of my weirdness... if all the weirdness in me were a song, that's how it would sound.
You get it.
The first time I realized I'm in love with someone is when I listened to ''Frog''. I was listening to it and then thought of her, and realized I'm in love thinking like ''Oh my god, I'm in love, this is what it feels like'' :D
I bid you welcome to the weird and wonderful clan of "The Outsiders" :)
Same here man...same feelings.
Callum I know exactly what you mean, you worded it quite well seeing as these kinds of things, by their very nature - are ineffable I find it strangely appropriate in the irony that great artists like these guys can conjure music and create tracks which in some weirdass way make the sadness of it so moving that that this is where its beauty chiefly comes from. These two are masters of their craft. Perfect for smoking DMT to...just absolutely spot on perfect. Love to all - Cal
I just had a life changing meditation experience to this. thanks
This music is great listening in these grim times.
Gotta get more CBL albums.
Well, it is said that as long as the music plays, Hope never dies. And astrophysicists have confirmed that stars "sing, vibrate". They've been around for a long time. And will be. I think we all have a pretty good chance.
That rare, wonderful moment when you love all the songs on an album. Yes.
Before setting off from Ireland to Germany on a road trip i had recently discovered this music. I decided to use it as my driving playlist for the most interesting parts of the journey with the intention it would imprint the memory and music together. Here I am now 5 years later, back home and listening to this. It worked. It does trigger some awesome memories and adds that slightly melancholic feel to it which the journey had...(Leaving things behind).
Polyrytmi is undervalued.
Polytrytmi blows my mind every single time i listen to it, last four minutes are beyond epic
Ja przy tym płacżę... Ale pozytywnie! Pozdr.😄
I got really depressed listening to this as I reflected on the fact that I wasn't doing my work... Not my job work but my true creative work. So, to take action, I paused at the Euphotic song and turned on my apollo quad and logic pro to get to work. Thank you. I mean, honestly, thank you for the inspiration. Even though there was an initial dip, the overall experience was incredibly and realistically inspiring.
Came across CBL on the Cure Music channel. So glad I did. Love this stuff. Can’t believe it took this long to know they exist. 😂
They created an Immortal, eternal music, every album, every track. What an extremely unique people!
this music makes me feel connected to something.
I never had feelings like this before with any music
really inspiring :)
The hyperdimensional super consciousness we are all connected to, are a part of. we come here and forget that we are an interloper inside the reality we create.
@@eTranscendence Thank you! We are all apart of a great whole that is so much bigger than ourselves. Our differences are circumstantial but our similarities are ingrained. We are not different in conscience we are different in circumstance.

Hello 🤗 pleasure meeting y'all 😊
You too😊
i've said it before and i'll say it again:this album is amazing....some bits are jaw droppingly good in their transitions....
again to all those who say electronic music is easy - make something like this if you think it is soooo easy....lol.
Excellent album. Have listened to it mostly while studying for my CCNA.
+Louis C.K That's funny. I have been studying Cisco while listening to CBL and similar themes for some time :)
lol, funny thing, i'm listening to this when reading BGP and MPLS for my CCIE
Good luck guys!

Jan Akkerhuis thanks mlord
+Louis C.K listening to this while study server
Listening trance music from 1994. And now i walking with my 3rd little son in a babystoller and listen interlooper.
You don't need to understand it. you only need to be it; to change with it and to move flow forward with it. It's not taking any where and it has no destination, and because of that you could never be lost.
I never listened to the entirety of "Polyrytmi" until just now, the second half of it is just awesome.
I have no words
Rings of saturn brought me here and this is just
+DarkEffigyGamer Same!
really ringd if saturn hahs there a cool deathcore band
successful
Fuck you , I'm on 5grams of shrooms and looked that up . From the name and thumbnail it looked cool. Fuck you again.
***** u ok
Euphotic is the most beautiful track. And Polyrytmi!
CBL- Interlooper, Connect.Ohm - 9980, Brian Eno- Apollo and Pink Floyd- Dark Sied of The Moon
Best Albums in this World.
The Ocean-precambrian
Great list. I would add Circular - Moon Pool, to that list. Also a mindblowing Ultimae album.
Pearl O'Neil - So Flows The Current ( something like that..)
In one of the Interview by Armin , One of my fav dj, He mentioned this is one of his all time fav album. And he is absoutely correct , this is gem.
Armin is EDM, CBL is proper electronic music.
After the freakin' YT ad, this was like stepping into a pristine forest by a lake. Yeah, I'm gonna go float for a while...
Come float with us Georgie, we all float together down here 😂 sorry, I had to do it
Yeah, fucking ads
Back in my day, this was Tangerine Dream.... worth checking out one of the roots of this particular tree !!!
Carbon Based Lifeforms: Perfect for creating artwork on the computer. Mandelbulb3D animation to be specific.
Welcome elements of sadness in this music. appreciated much.
as a fellow sound creator, i cannot believe how someone makes such beautiful music
blows my mind
I have studied for so many hours listening to Interloper...
Supersede 21:23 is AMAZING (Y)
Right it stands out clearly. Very immersive as if I was coursing through post apocalytic words or universe
My Favorites: Interloper and Supersede...
Photosynthesis (the first I discovered from CB) and Right where it ends ♥
Somewhere in space and time, we are here... :)
With the music the thoughts will come.
2 o' clock at night, downpour just stopped, cycling through the outskirts of hometown. Highly doubt that any other album will top the feelings this will give me.
Back again....
This place is so familiar
what an experience!!!the sunrise with this album!!
After 8 years it resonates. Infinity ❤
I liked this video ages ago and was like "meh I'll look at this later, been listening to too much chill music." Boy was I missing out!
CBL are the best! Listened to it constantly when writing my dissertation.
I perceive such a deep respect for nature itself through CBL.
