I owned a Scorpioni in the early 70's. Originally lime green, but I had it painted red like this one. It did not have the big oil cooler with ABARTH in the back. Flimsy back bumper, and back panel came off with just four screws. I spent a lot of time in that engine compartment fixing starters and manifolds. Finally got the starter working right, only to have rust from its time in Boston and Michigan eat through the floorboard and the frame. Being unsafe to drive, I sold it to the president of the US Abarth club in Atlanta. I know it spent many years in his basement, but I don't know if he ever restored it.

Hi Steffy Hobmann, Glad you enjoyed this one, and learned about one you were unaware of. I'm learning all the time from the stories told from the Care Takers of the cars, Lou
Thank you for this perfect video ! ! ! It is the car I dreamed of in my youth ; beautiful little car , just under 41" high , not extraordinary fast , but , as the journalist wrote in french " sport auto " magazine in those times ( 1969 magazine I still have ) : " I drove a long time in the night and what was so good was not to try to drive the highest speed as possible , but to take a real pleasure to drive it as a race-car all along the curves on this little road , as if I was a runway " ( approx' translation ) I saw one german neon-green Scorpione on a car-park near a " château de la Loire " in summer 1973 ( there I fell in love for this car ) ; and in 1983 , I questionned about one Lombardi for sale ( I only met the father of the owner , he said it was a Lamborghini ! ) in North of France where I worked Perhaps there are still few OTAS 820 in U S along the Abarth and Lombardi ?
Hi Lou I'm Pablo Italian guy, really I'm enjoin the Abarth collections of this gentleman, I did see also the other Abarth car in another your clip, I really never saw before some model of that collections who is really amazing. The yellow and blue badge on the front fender carries designer Francis Lombardi's initials. Carlo Abarth, like his contemporary Colin Chapman, created pretty, light weight sports cars which could often hold their own against much more powerful models. This Scorpione is very rare and a delight to see. It would be great to see other Abarths in Chuck's collection, the 2300 S in particular.
Hi Andrew Graham, Thank you for sharing, and adding to the story with your knowledge of the car. I'm also hopeful on the next visit Chuck will enjoy the video and extend an invitation to see other cars in his collection too, Lou

My family owns one like this but 1000 engine. The car never sees street unfortunately. the shape inside and outside is just like this car even the colour, the interior is even newer than this one. I had the luck that they let me drive the car 1 time. It was the only time ive seen this car outside of the garage in all my life. lol The driving position and seat is realy Outstanding, the braking on our car was scary bad probably due to lack of maintenance. This is a nice car to just give a run sometimes on the weekends. I miss driving this car this is why i came here.

Sweet. Typically finicky Italian car. ☺ A friend of mine had a FIAT 850 Spider, and when it ran, it was fun to drive.
Hi Keith Coppage, "and when it ran, it was fun to drive"... That line in your comment made me smile :-) Lou
😂😂😂 those pop ups made it look really surprised or appalled

That rear quarter panel looks a bit AMC AMX. Lou maybe you could find a restored Hup Mobile,
Very rare and interesting car.
Hi Bill Bright, Nice :-) Lou
Kind of mini super-car, with a modern scaled mini production !
Aston Martin & co must be shocked the concept was on the road way before today's trend.
Hi WhichLens, I like the "kind of a mini super-car" :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing your thoughts, Lou
Straight, open USA friendly side.
Cool :)
Glad you enjoyed this one :-)

Bellissima
Nice :-)
Love my old cars and want to sell them, then I think how could I do it to myself. Antique cars are an expensive hobby best left to someone else.
Hi jeff Craven, Decisions, decisions :-) Lou
