- On "My Car Story" we're at the American Motors Owners Association International Convention in Rockford IL on 7-30-16.
We're looking at a 1968 American Motors Corporation AMC AMX with a 290 CI engine in Playmate Pink Paint.
The car’s Owner is Mark Melvin. Mark’s the second Owner since 2010. The cars Original Owner is Victoria Vetri aka Angela Dorian who was given the car as a prize by Playboy Magazine because she was the Playmate of the Year in 1968.
The car features a special paint scheme and an interior ID tag in the car that usually represents a number for car production, however this cars tag says “ 36-24-35 ” which is Angela’s body figure measurements.

I had the pleasure!! Thanks for showing it to me Mark and Angela
Hi Mike, Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Thanks Lou for another fun video. Look forward to your next. Keep the smiles coming. jj
Hi John, Happy to read you're enjoying the videos with me :-) Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
I have the PLAYBOY issue she was awarded this car in (Playmate Of The Year)
Issue also has a couple AMC ads in it, for first AMX dealer DEMOCRATIC distribution per state population,
and an SST Javelin for GOODYEAR tires.
Hi WIlliam Boardman, Thank you for viewing and sharing about the details inside that Playboy issue, Lou
No worries Lou. First time I'd heard about recent events involving original owner. I got her autograph at a
winter indoor car show in NY....as a kid. I knew she' d kept the car, after repainting a few times, but also never knew
the issue photo of Pink car was NOT the same car she was awarded and enjoyed. Jay Leno drive time episode
was also very good.
Nice :)
Happy to read you think this one is "Nice" :-)
Just for the record, and despite what the internet states, Victori Vetri (Angela Dorian) was never on Star Trek and refuses to sign any stills from that episode. And, though she had many TV screen credits throughout the 60s, she did not appear on Gunsmoke.
Angela however was in the classic movie Rosemary's Baby. She interacts with Rosemary in a scene that takes place in the basement of the Dakota building...
At the time the video was made it was thought widely that the girl in the Star Trek episode was Angela Dorian/Victoria Vetri. Since then Victoria has confirmed that indeed it is not her. Recently, the identity of the lady in the Star Trek became known for the first time (April Tatro). Victoria met her at an autograph show in person and the two of them had their picture taken together.

Hahaha... my older brother used to have one of these... I think it was called a Javelin... and AMC Javelin. POS but fun at the time.
Hi DustyCowdog, Fun is good :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Hi Dusty. If your brother had a Javelin, it would have been almost the same... but... 6 inches longer and a 4 seater not a 2 seater.
