I think it would be nice that if scammers are confirmed and exposed, their name, picture and Aadhaar would be registered on a blacklist at some (government) organisation so Indian companies can check people that apply for a job to see if someone is registered as such. If they are repeat offenders maybe their family too. I believe in some countries they use their criminal registration system in such ways too. So that repeat offenders that do not care for the normal punishment and pressure from society plus governments are also *really* being pressured by their families to prevent them from criminal activities in the future.
Would be great if the Indian government would step in more and if they would really start to take on this industry much better, maybe in cooperation with guys like Jim and you and with the police in the countries where their victims live.
I'm willing to bet that if they get caught and convicted, and if their money would be seized AND they would have to fulfill a long period of forced physical labour to pay back their victims, this scamming industry would be gone in no-time at all.

You are turning out to be the scammer but not in the same fashion as what you are trying to stop. Your videos these days plus the multiple other links you provide in the description that basically show the same thing reek of the thought that you are trying to scam your way to the most views as possible across multiple youtube channels.
Also, you claim you have the people's call center where you have 15 people standing around 1 person that is trying to stop a scam and when that 1 person gets in contact with the victim and stops it, you awkwardly celebrate every time. When each of your members talks about how they want nothing more than to stop these scammers it seems rehearsed and not authentic.
You do good things, right? Prove all of that good instead of these ridiculous videos looking for thumbs up and subscribers.

There needs to be a more concrete way to identify yourselves as “NOT THE SCAMMERS” 😏
When you interrupt the call (which is a very GOOD thing ) midstream, the victim is already confused, and they seem to think that you also are part of the scam which confuses them more…I, in no-way have a clue as to what YOUR script should be but there must be a way…brainstorming project for you guys…my parents got scammed with the “Grandparent Scam” about 5 years ago - I’m still furious with these scammers 😡 - until about a week before “The Peoples Call Center” came into the light, I never knew that warriors such as yourselves existed, and I am amazed and humbled !!!!

@@KarlRock Karl. You literally were one of the few channels that got me through the pandemic. I couldn't stop binging your videos. I had no interest in India before seeing your channel. My introduction to you was connected to my interest in this trend of exposing scammers. But your videos actually showed me the beauty and culture of India and made it clear that the scam culture is just a very small percentage of predatory people. I feel this was the mission you had in mind so I hope these words reach you well.
I remember watching your entire struggle with trying to be accepted into Indian culture, being bullied at a police station, and your stress of getting married to your wife. The moment you got separated and stuck in a New Zealand quarantine hotel. I'm glad everything worked out. Send my well wishes to Manisha from all Karl Rock fans!

    • @PodtrashRadio
      @PodtrashRadio 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@TruthIsNotTemporary I actually had this very same thought. When Karl was saying to the victim on the voicemail that he would "like to help them get a refund" I immediately thought the word "refund" would be triggering to the victim and make them lose trust. There needs to be a specific script that avoids any of the buzz words that the scammers use to differentiate themselves or a quick way to build trust.
The other problem is there are a lot of victims who have already come to terms with losing the money and they refuse to admit they were "stupid" enough to fall for the scam. So in their mind they have convinced themselves that they were not scammed no matter how much evidence you show them. The pain of admitting you gave away your live savings is almost more painful than just accepting the money is gone and the problem has gone away. As crazy as that sounds they have encountered people like this before. Where the victim gets ANGRY at the guys trying to HELP them get their money back. Even in cases where over $10,000 were scammed!
I think Pierogi with this insane business he's built can hire a lot of people and will surely solve this dilemma. I would LOVE to work at this call center or help with scam baiting calls.
One of my MAIN skills throughout my podcasting career was doing prank calls where I could keep people on the phone for 20-30+ minutes to the point where they would NEVER hang up. It would get to the point where I had to get more and more ridiculous hoping they would finally hang up and they still wouldn't. I guess because I have a very convincing way of speaking and good social engineering skills. I would be perfect for this job if it paid well lol.
I once pranked Amazon Customer support and to return a used Flesh-Light (don't look it up lol) and she totally took me seriously. The call lasted 25+ minutes and by the end I almost had her marrying me and agreeing to flee the corporate claws of the "evil Amazon" and elope with me on a holiday to Italy. It's on my channel. I got her to break character and it was very fun. She almost even read me the purchase history of one of my friend's amazon accounts with only very basic information so I nearly exposed a flaw in their security.
A more ridiculous one was I pranked a casino and had the entire security staff running around a casino for 30 minutes looking for me. I was a "guy in a Hawaiian shirt" and I claimed I got my arm stuck on the "Wheel of Fortune" machine. I even had my friends acting as random passerby at the casino. One was a doctor who found me passed out and said he had to do emergency surgery and "saw my arm off to get it out of the machine" and the security guard was panicking like it was Defcon 4 trying to find me. He was screaming for the doctor not to cut my arm off. 30+ MINUTES into the call he still wouldn't hangup and I had to eventually just say "wait what casino is this?". Then after he answered I said "oh boy im so stupid... wrong casino I'm actually at the casino across the street... sorry" and hung up.
So if Pierogi needs a master scam baiter and someone with podcasting and live-streaming experience I could fit the job description to a tee lol. I'd just to use my powers for good!

I am very sorry you were scammed, but I truly believe you are going to be blessed with far more than was taken from you "if" you handle it in forgiveness and mercy trusting in justice and not seeking revenge. It honestly sounds like you already have handled this very well and are seeking God for help. Have faith, he will help you. I know I am talking a lot, but I would be remiss if I didn't share what God told me I have to share with you. Jesus said- "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me- just as the Father knows me and I know the Father-and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd." From the book of John in the Bible. God loves you, but he also loves those scammers and wishes no one to perish or miss out on the greater that God has for them if they simply lay down their life and follow him.

Yes, the victim was right to be cautious. There actually is a "recovery scam" where scammers call up previous victims and offer to get their stolen money refunded.
It happened to me 10 years ago after I fell for a tech support scam, and my name got put on a suckers list. A few weeks later I got a call from "Microsoft" saying they had got to know I'd been scammed and they wanted to help me get my money back. Luckily I'd become more skeptical, so I took the guy's details and phoned the genuine Microsoft to verify his identity and they told me it was just another scam.

The saddest part of this is that they are targeting our geriatric population….that’s really really low. There’s only so much one can do-and its nots because we dont care about our elderly. My FIL was scammed X 2-they specifically told him not to discuss the issue w/his son. I know to most, we’d think, of course, call your son asap. But that’s not how the aging brain works. And they take advantage of that. Of the most vulnerable among us-I don’t think there is anything worse than that.

      @mookinbabysealfurmittens 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Well, it's been said many times the many simple things the phone companies could do to stop a lot of scam calls, but they choose not to because 1: effort, and 2: they make money off those calls. _(They_ SELL your phone number! And all the other info you give them when you get a new phone or plan.) And a lot of government leaders just don't get it; literally many of them do not understand how the internet works, much less how antivirus scams work, etc. And the same for police forces, which have their own focus (hint: it's not you, nor your stuff, nor your safety), and also Sheriff's offices, which are an entity separate from the police that have even more power and even less accountability, virtually none! In the east, sure, they're often underfunded, but in the west, money is of no importance. Have you seen how many got [unauthorised] "Punisher" paint jobs on their cruisers? And how many got military gear from modified tanks to LRAD systems? (Without the training, thus committing W4/R CR!ME5 on civilians!) _(Some More News_ explained the Sheriff issue well, and S.H.A.R.K. explains all the time, with irrefutable evidence, the awful stuff that Sheriffs mix themselves up with, like rodeos & a lot of very un-sportsmanlike """sports""" that just harm innocent lives, almost always something involving tormenting harmless animals for "fun" [the kind seen in kids who grow up to harm their own species]). I'd say that the police are underfunded, but that's not at all the case. They have the funding, but not the want or care. Most are embarrassingly under-educated in anything to do with computers, and few are motivated to do a thing besides what can get _them_ money, numbers, or valor (stolen or otherwise), and the few that do care quickly find themselves bound up in international law and a very expensive process of extradition, communicating with people in countries where they speak other languages. So it's not a big surprise that most would much rather stay focused on the small but guaranteed stuff that brings them money, like focusing on very poor neighbourhoods and coming in for mostly small and harmless "crimes" like the simple "hand-to-hand", or like in big cities too, the big 3/1: vagrancy, loitering, or "trespassing" [i.e. being on a street cos there's nowhere to go]...all are code for the same thing: _homelessness!_ It's really a shame, man. The whole thing is a mess. I've barely scratched the surface. But suffice to say: it's just not even on the radar of most law enforcement in the USA, at least - sad as that is. I don't know what it would take to change their minds.

You folk are Angels who saved an Angel - here in Australia during the mid 2000’s I contracted a legitimate call centre in Canberra that provided a free service for regional callers enquiring about Federal Govt services. I was a long term public servant in IT but this was another part of my responsibilities. Our team discovered a Sydney-based Indian team had setup a bogus call centre in Canberra but they charged people for the information. To catch them I did a ‘Jim Browning’ scam bait which not only caught them out but also found their location and were arrested and shut down by the ACT Federal police - the sad thing is my Indian friends can no longer get work online because of their accent and they’re very angry with their own countrymen and women who have ruined their careers.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to try to repay/make whole the victims, they are probably very wary after having already been scammed once. Kudos to all of you for all the good work you do, I hope big media will do a story or documentary on this.

God bless and protect you guys for being such amazing, warm-hearted, caring people... you are a needed force of light in this greedy, evil, fallen world. May the Lord reward you in this life and the afterlife. Much love from Germany... 🙏❤👼

I heard a scammer say that the victims are getting money back so they don’t feel bad if they take money from them. It’s sickening, y’all are doing a great job 👏👏👏👏

They get told all sorts of lies and need tell them this they think we live in a magical land where money just randomly reappears in our bank account that they took

They twist themselves into pretzels with their lies, to justify stealing from people.

Bro you're making me cry a little (out of love or a glimpse of joy... not in a bad way) and I'm not joking, as weird as that sounds. At halfway through the video when you are expressing your happiness at this experience of coming together and connecting with these people.... I can't really explain it, but when you go a long time feeling bogged down or in a rut in your life, you forget there is real potential beyond what has been immediately happening... New places to see, new angles, new connections, friends waiting to connect/exchange, and spontaneous magic to happen... something like that if I can put into words 💙💙💙 EDIT : Not to mention the emotional events that followed in the rest of the video as well ! Love you guys.

Thanx to yours and Perogi's video's, I get to have fun with these scammers. I've been in Mexico 3 yrs and have had as many e-mails/calls from these scammers. I'm guessing when I return to US there'll be many more opportunities to mess with them. Lead em on. Get em all excited they have a victim, then lower the hammer and have a good chuckle. My biggest issue is I don't know what to do, who to contact when this happens.

All of you are amazing people. I was Tech Support for 2 years and had to deal with scammers claiming to be Microsoft, Amazon, McAfee etc. scamming people who just want to be happy and enjoy their retirement and helped them with getting the computer viruses that they put on their computers and my wife has been watching you for a while and just recently encouraged me to watch you and after watching, I want to be a scam baiter and help these people who are being scammed.

Hi Karl, I saw you here with a few scam baiters I’m familiar with. Like present Green, Jim Browning and Trilogy. Now I like DeyO too. So much fun to see you all in one room. Thank you so, so much for all the great work you do 😊

    "Do one ting!"
NO, The People's Call Center will do thousands, the wind is coming.
Seeing all of you together, was wonderfully heart warming, like-minded people pooling ideas and exchanging resources, excellent.
Saving Grandma, it's so difficult, Pierogi was able to explain, he got choked up.

I'm slowly finding you all through Jim Browning and the Trilogy Media squad. This is such a dream project and I enjoyed watching--did you just say, "This is Pewdiepie signing out?" Ha ha ha ha ha!
But anyway, I enjoyed watching from everyone's perspectives and their experience with The People's Call Center. But like all things, all good things must come to an end. I'm hoping for another en masse collab again really soon!
