My car started smelling about 3 years ago, got to the point I’d get headaches, sleepy and brain fog from it. I did a bunch of other ways through the vents. THIS video has helped me clear my car of mold and mildew and that awful smell especially come summer. It was so bad I’d make excuses why I couldn’t take other people in the car. Thank you so much for making this video. It’s a simple change but you have no idea how much relief this has provided me in my life. My water came out looking like yours too. THIS is the way to fix the car, and cheaper too!

@@BIasterXD would a carbon filter somehow fix an exhaust leak? I'm currently trying to diagnose whether my car has a carbon monoxide leak (mechanic says the exhaust system looks fine) or whether I just need to disinfect the HVAC system because I am similarly feeling tired and brainfoggy when driving recently.

You can prevent the mould forming by always turning off your Ac a few min before you reach your destination and leave it on high fan mode. This reduces the condensation moisture left in the AC that starts the mildew

A very smart move. I cannot remember the first motor I worked on with my dad. By the time I was 14 I was overhauling huge Minneapolis-Moline and Farmall tractors. Start with oil and spark plug changes on your lawn mower. Talk to the local shop teacher to find a high-schooler that will work cheap to get started. Farm boys will probably be the best practical teachers when your son is about 12. They will usually have working knowledge on many practical subjects.

Just a tip if you want to use tbis method. Instead of using your thumb to close the tube and using both hands, instead punch a hole in an earplug, put the tube thru the earplug and then 0ut the tube in the evap and then plug the tube with the earplug. Makes this much easier undercar freeing up one of your hands.

I bought the small bottle of cleaner. The cleaner's cap also worked on a can of lysol. So I just put in 1/3 the cleaner, then some lysol by swaping the cap then the rest of the cleaner. It took 25 minutes start to finish to include jacking the car. Thank You Sweet Project Cars.

Just wanted to say thank you for this video. Worked perfectly to remove the smell from my 2019 Ram. After completing the process, I had no air coming out of any vents; I pulled the cab filter and realized that the foam had saturated the paper media, which was blocking air flow. After drying out the filter in the sun, everything worked fine and smelled great!

Due to this Corona crap finding Lysol is near to impossible, anyways other then that part i did the procedure and it worked FANTASTIC.. the money i saved by doing this myself wouldn't be possible without your awesome video. Thank for the video. It's winter (4°F yesterday) and I've been driving with my windows full open at times because of the smell. It was hard to reach the drain port on my truck, and it was much larger than the plastic hose.
My brain has trouble remembering names, but I remembered having some spare hose. I used some extra a ~1/8" high pressure fuel hose that I had from a past project (adding a fuel filter and petcock to my lawnmower) where its O.D. fit snugly into my drain port, and its I.D. fit snugly with the plastic hose that came with the small can. The best part is that it also reached topside, allowing me to do this standing up by the front right fender. Not a drip of foam wasted. After finishing up, I coiled both hoses and stored them away with the syringes in the freezer bag for the next time, or car, I do this to. I appreciate you providing the links, too. It made it happen that much faster for me.

I make it a habit to set the temp on High and closing the vents to make sure the air is trapped inside the system, closing it off completely and set fan to max, and turn off A/C engine should be at 80-90 Celsius I drive around for 10 minutes then return the vents to normal and simply set the temp to low cooling everything down again before i park the car, smells are never a problem anymore for me :) the A/C Needs 10 minutes cooldown after a drive to avoid having alot of moist which can turn into mold

This totally works!!! I have a 2008 Nissan Sentra and could not really access the box through the bottom drip hose (underneath the car. Too many turns so, tube would not go up very far). I went to the passenger side and found where the hose was going to. I inserted the spray hose at that point. I blocked the space between the hose and the skinny spray extension with cloth and tape. After it did its cleaning, I caught the gross water with a McDonald's cup so it would drip all over the carpet. Then just put the hose back ... done. After a few days the nice minty smell dissipates and it just smells clean. Wow, what a difference :)

This is the BEST video on this process! I've done it on 3 cars. Note on my 2007 Sentra, the drip hose makes a sharp turn almost 90 degrees right inside where is goes into the car's skid plate. It has a rubber grommet that keeps it from going back into the the skid plate. I removed that grommet and was able to angle the drip hose out enough to work the tube hose on the foam cleaner up into the evaporator, it took a lot of twisting and patience. Also I pulled the little plastic stiffener out of the tube hose because it was hard plastic and wouldn't fit through the bend in the drip hose. Beware because I though the hose was clogged at first, since the cleaner tube wouldn't go but a couple of inches due to the bend. I started cramming a screwdriver to 'unclog' the hose which could have damaged it if I keep trying that.

I had to rip Everything out before the car could be driven again and change all filters in cabin and pull up heating vents clean it with ozone generator and now I have no carpet and have to find mold heat and waterproof sound barrier before I can put in more carpet. . The second bigger bottle is much cheaper but I'd argue using the bigger bottle first then the smaller bottle due to the smell. The bigger bottle I got has a stronger chemical smell vs the smaller bottle that left the ac smelling fresh. Either way I really appreciate the information this video provided me.

I was able to pop off the sprayer that came with the disinfecting spray, and put the sprayer+clear tube from the foaming cleaner right on the disinfecting spray can and spray it up into the evaporator like that. Not a prefect fit but it worked fine, just make sure to wear goggles for both the foaming cleaning and disinfectant.

I know that this is 3 years old, but I thought that I'd comment anyway. I like your system, and if a person stays with a program of cleaning it every few years, it should do wonders for the system. You might look for a rubber stopper, or a few of different sizes, that has a hole in the center. Put the tube from the can in the hole, and put the stopper in the condensate drain hose, and it might be a bit easier. Best wishes.

I have a 2008 Honda Pilot I am cleaning for a client and this method would be nice if the hose bends properly then gets into the firewall so u can do the spray in. Otherwise it's just a spill situation. I released the drain hose and will get a different hose to insert and add some air line hose to extend ur method for this vehicle. If u did ur normal way great I was just wasting alot of the Lysol which has to be held into the hose while inserting. Ok SPC have a good one.

charles910 most of the evap pipes are in very hard to get to areas, you can do the process, of course, the way you like and feel it would be best for you, but we have found the first initial shot of the foam with the disinfect in the pipe really drives it deep into the system, thanks for sharing my friend :)

Do you have the name and contacts for these two products that you are using in the video ? I had this job done twice ... first time it worked perfectly for a full year. The second time ( different products ) it was a disaster .... the car has been unusable ... headaches / dizziness / blurred vision ... after 5 minutes of exposure. Thank you for posting this video. There are no doubt ... millions suffering from the effects of in-car-poison. You have done a great service for all of us. Cheers ! Michael

OMG it's Sunday and I'm binge-watching your channel. Restoring on a very limited budget my '89 Chevy crew cab dually. I'm not noticing a bad odor but the system is not cooling as it should. I've been quoted very high costs to have shops fix it for me. You even give links in the description -- awesome. Finding this video saves the day. Can't wait to try this. Thank you! 💞🐶😽😻💞
