Well done on taking that on and getting it done ! I have a 2003 a6 with the 3.0 AVK.engine code for both cats is on and a rattling sound on the gas. It looks like I will be doing it soon, and also the nose end oil seal that you replaced. On filling the Center differential with oil I think it’s supposed to be 8 mm below the level of the fill plug hole. Thanks for making a great video!
Im working on mine right now, I ended up purchasing an engine support bar and a 13mm flex head wrench worked well for that top driverside nut. Im taking my time on it, replacing a cv joint and trans mount along the way
Glad to hear the video helps. I bought the Bosal exhaust system from Rock Auto. I just searched and it looks like they carry different brands now. The car and exhaust system still runs great 4 years later. Best of luck!
If I include the time to place the car up high on jack stands, prep the back engine mount, disconnect the drive shaft & exhaust, and loosen the front mount bolts, I would say that was one long day around 8 hrs. Now I'm not a pro so I don't have the instant knowledge of tool size and technique, so surely the pros can do this in just a couple hours. The actual lowering was just a few minutes of very slow releases. I hope this helps.
Invaluable resource. Thank you.
Thank you. What a job! I have a passat . After watching this. I dont want it anymore!
I'm feeling the same way too.
@@Superhyperaktive Might be worth trying to save the car from the junkyard.
me too
Just a four year update guys. The Passat is still running strong and one of my favorites to drive! The effort was well worth it. Best of Luck!
I like your fishing rods.
Yeah, if I could only find more time to use them :-) Thanks!

How long did it take you to lower the engine?
