STROKE SURVIVOR Had OVERGROWN LAWN and Sidewalks You Couldn't See

- We knocked on this door last year with no answer, so me and my wife decided to give it another shot and see if we could help with their overgrown lawn and overgrown sidewalks. Little did we know that we would be met with a dog that did not want us there. He put his front paw through the glass in the door trying to get out at us. After we ran back to the truck we spotted a neighbor and asked him about the house and he helped us get in touch with the caregiver.
Once the dogs were put up I got to work on the property. There was alot of brush to cut down all over the property. I believe the property hadn't been mowed all year and the edges haven't been touched in years. I hauled off all the brush and ended up with a truck load of dirt from the overgrown edges. This job took me a total of about 8 hours. I was very happy to help out this family and they were very happy as well.

I’m the caregiver and partner of Mr Carmichael- just a quick note that Brian did a great job and we really appreciate him!
Just a quick correction - Mr carmichael had his stroke in December of 2021 right before Christmas. He is not wheelchair bound anymore - he uses a hemi walker. Lawn care has been low on the priority list. His son has tried to help us as much as he can. The house is older, his parents lived here when he was younger. He took pride in his lawn - and he had been keeping it well before his stroke.
The dog is actually a sweet lovable dog but very protective of his owner after the hospital stay. His bark is worse than his bite. The glass already had a crack but I’m sure it was scary! The dog just gets excited and doesn’t know his own strength.
Thanks again Brian! It was a big help - Dan has been outside to see it and was pleased.
A lot of people know Dan, he’s well known in the local music scene (practically a legend as a bass player ) . Hes got a big heart and is the sweetest person I know

Hey Brian! Another great job. Rang a personal note for me too. I suffered a stroke ten years ago and was unable to look after my garden for the first few months afterwards. My partner kept it all going. I started gardening again as soon as I could. It really helped with my rehab. Im still partly disabled but gardening is part of my life again and a great source of pleasure. I was lucky I didn't end up more comprehensively disabled and for people like this guy your help is a godsend. His being able to sit out will help him feel better for sure! I wish them and you all my best!

Actually it was about a year - lawn work was not the top priority in 2022 - his son did come out and help as much as he can

What a massive undertaking! And you did so much, it looks like a completely different property. I simply love the work you do for the disabled, poor, elderly, anyone who needs a helping hand. And you do it all from tree removal to dirt removal, weeds, mowing, taking vines down, clearing off curbs, sidewalks and concrete, hauling junk away, and sometimes no appreciation shown. The good you do is unmatched by anyone else in the business!

Very true - Mr Carmichael took great pride in his yard - in 2021 he was doing his own yard work. His stroke was December 2021 - his son has been helping as much as he can.
You not 0nly gave the homeowner and caregiver your labor but also your heart and kindness. This cleanup of his yard had to be a bright light and highlight of his day(s). Being a stroke survivor can be so overwhelming, with the worry of am I going to have another one? The bills, the medication, the fatigue so many things but you gave him some peace of mind, when he sits in his yard to relax, he can enjoy and be proud of his yard. BRAVO Brian! 💜💜💜💜

@@TopNotchLawns I feel for you there brother! My dogs have broken through sections of our front picture window 2x now. Every time the Amazon driver comes. Poor guy just kinda creeps up, gives the item a toss and RUNS back to the truck. I feel terrible about it. Watching that poor guy sprint from our house is an awful feeling. Wish he knew it just sets them off when they run like that, but it's understandable. The rivalry is fun; the UPS guys actually open the storm door and put items inside between the storm and the door. It's like _"Hey Amazon driver; let me show you how it's done!"._
They are going to love that new yard underneath all that growth, it's so much healthier and safer. And they are going to love you and your wife for your kindness and help. It looks very nice. Prayers for them and their health and God bless you two. Nice to meet Mrs. Top Notch.

Myslím že babička to ocení až si to pak všechno v klidu prohlédne. Briane ráda tě vidím a chci ti napsat, že máš můj velký obdiv. To co jsi tady dokázal se nedá slovy ani popsat. Řezání odrostu stromů a keřů, čištění chodníku, okraje silnice, do toho jsi musel ten odpad odvézt, vrátit se, stále posouvat na různá místa kameru a mohla bych pokračovat. Máš velmi dobrou fyzickou kondici, ale myslím, že jsi toho na konci práce měl akorát dost. Jak dlouho jsi to všechno dělal? Gratuluji a moc děkuji! 🤗👍👏👋🌿

As a stroke survivor myself, I'm feel blessed to still be able to do some yard work, though it's an uphill battle sometimes. It's amazing how bad a property can get in a short amount of time. It's awesome you help people that can't do it themselves.
