6:31 The fact that it disconnected as soon as you clicked “record” previously, leads me to think it’s a typical bug with audio setups on iPhones. I have this issue happen sometimes when I connect my Rodecaster to my phone for Clubhouse use. Sometimes starting to rec on Camera app or Voice Memos causes issues. Usually what I do is force close the app I want to use, connect the mic or audio cable, then launch the app. I may totally be wrong about this, but based on what I experience with different setups on my iPhone, this may just be the way to go. Great review with tons of relevant information, thank you!!! The double clicking the link button to switch from one connected device to another is huge! You can also start and stop recording of the connected device by a single click to the link button.
I think the noise cancelling is to be used in "typical" settings such as interviews and dialogues...in already treated environments. If you go to the strong setting in an already quiet environment it will sound over treated and muddy.
I could never get the transmitter to connect to Bluetooth. Followed all the directions many times. Just will not work because without a Bluetooth firmware update nothing works!! Also known you need the NEMo app. For me nothing works!! 😢
Great video... love a real review. The noise cancelation is straight trash. I have the DJI MIC1 and simply love it, this mini looks great but that noise cancel feature is not effective at all.
I'm pretty sure you can't use the native iPhone camera app with this microphone. You have to use a 3rd party app like the Blackmagic Camera app or Filmic pro. The Final Cut camera app might work too.
I'm going to be gifted a mic for my simple vlogging and I was given a choice the DJI mini or DJI mic 2 I'm not really good at this I figured go for the DJI Mike 2 because it's the most expensive and it's a gift then I came across your video and I said why would I need the 2 when the mini does everything I need and some but I would rather ask a question which one would be the best to grab there's a lot of features on the two that I will never use but he😮y your feedback is greatly appreciated thank you🤙👍
The smaller size and the longer battery life on the mini are enough for me to prefer the mini over the 2. But, the built in recording with 32 bit float on the 2 can be insanely useful. If i had to pick... i would choose the mini. That said, i own a white and black mic 2 and i'm not getting rid of either of them. From my perspective, don't agonize over the decision, they are both great mics.
Now THIS is a good review. I’ve been using it and I’m quite disappointed so far. My intention was for iPhone use only. Clarity isn’t great, and I don’t think mono recording is truly mono. Playback is weird. I’m a bit disappointed so far 😣

From my iPhone I don't get 48khz from my Samsung I do. Lots of bugs on the iPhone. Does DJI cameras get 48 kHz?

In hindsight i wish i would have compared it against the Mic 2. The noise cancelation seems to perform a bit more reliably on the Mic 2.

You need to push the connector on receiver all the way to connect on iPhone.

Most times its the phone drivers were corrupted. Reboot like u did and magic..
Probably better to use the noise reduction in your editor and not burn it in on the recording with the mic system.
