I dropped my fire stick for the ONN 4k. No regrets whatsoever. For the cord cutters who wants a cheaper alternative to Amazon, Roku and Apple TV. This is just fine. Plus you can side load apps as well. Thanks for the video.
I would’ve never thought about buying this brand. I was always a Roku person but for some reason I’m not as big of a fan of their stuff anymore. I’ll keep this in mind
As someone who tries to get older people to switch to streaming TV, I will say that modern streaming devices do a terrible job at just "replacing cable". Why? Because when someone signs up for TH-cam TV, 95% of the time, that is ALL they want. Instead of these devices showing the CHANNELS inside TH-cam TV, they show APPS, but the people generally only want ONE app. I wish TH-cam TV would just make it's own streaming device.
Or at least have an ability to make TH-cam TV the default app that always runs by default and opens the last channel watched. Surely TH-cam has thought of doing that (should be able to pull it off with the Chromecast, their own device), but years of TH-cam TV and a cable experience mode not yet available.
@@DeenThedream I got Walmart Onn box, it's basic stock Google TV. You can map the TH-cam button on the remote to open TH-cam TV, even turning on the TV with press of the TH-cam button, that's more cable like than I thought. From there, you can use the microphone to surf channels and there are also dedicated channel up and down buttons.
@@cinemapigeon4898 That's good to know. Thank you for the info about the dedicated button. I ended up going with the Roku Ultra because of the wired headphone to remote compatibility (which I think she'll like), it was on sale for blackfriday, and the Roku TV App which should have a channel up/down function, and a lot of free channels. Hoping for the best! It should arrive tommorow, so we'll see how she likes or dislikes it.
I got one of these(Onn 4K Pro) and installed but the problem is when the TV is off and I ask question like "Hey Google how is the weather today?" the speaker of the TV box does not respond! I am sure that the TV box gets my question and it is answering but the voice is going to TV through HDMI cable even though the TV is off! Then when I disconnect the HDMI cable from TV and try again I get the answer from TV Box speaker! I don't know what is wrong but while the HDMI Cable is connected to TV and TV is turned off I can not hear any answer from my Google! Any suggestions will be highly appreciated to solve this problem!
I can't get the "onn. Google TV 4K Pro Streaming Device (New, 2024)" to recognize four of my USB external drives, telling me they're corrupt. Three of them are 2 & 4TB Crucial X10 (exFAT, unpowered), and Sandisk 4TB (exFAT, unpowered). The fourth drive is an 8TB Seagate backup drive (NTFS, powered). The 2TB also failed to even be recognized while connected to a powered dock. However, the Onn. does recognize a 256GB Sandisk thumb drive (exFAT). Do you have any ideas on how to get my portable SSDs working? I'll probably return the Onn. if I don't get it figured out soon. Thank you!
SO WHAT? I've own firestick from Amazon for years.was a diehard firesticks user. In my opinion the walmart onn 4k pro streaming box is better than any firestick or firestick cube .or Ruko box for what I use it for especially cord cutter as myself 32gigs of storage I can have alot of apps on this device still with plenty of storage leftover.
From what I read on the Google TV streamer device it’s pretty bad especially the remote. I read that the remote is tiny and swishy and you can’t really hold It very well. For $99 I would expect a better remote and like 8GB Ram and 64 GB Storage capacity and the ability to add more external storage. Terrible quality from Google once again.
31 days? Well I hope you got your money back. Bottom line, you get what you paid for. 3 months and it's working just fine for me. No issues or stuttering, just the occasional frame drop. Do your homework everyone. There are more streaming devices than just the BIG 3. Take care everyone.
Roku's closed ecosystem makes it a non-starter for me. I really need to have Kodi and some other apps. With Amazon getting ready to go in a similar direction soon, Google TV devices are looking better.
@@alfmeister13 Bro if it was 31 days ngl I probably would've either complained until they took it back or bought a new one and returned the old one. Guess you can use the limited warranty but that's more work.

Is it possible to mirror Windows laptop to TV using this device?

100% I'm trying to compare/ contrast these streaming devices to try to see if any of them would work for my 80yo grandmother

Can my onn 4k be set up on my Hisense Roku TV? Tried but not working. What am I doing wrong?
Try a different HDMI port? I was having issues via my HDMI Arc 3 port on my older Sony, but other ports work
Will it up convert everything to doby vison and doby autmos 4k ?

Does it have an internet browser?
Runs Android apps which include browsers etc. What ever you can put on Android phones / tablets
Shhhhhhh.. let the noobies stay on Roku, Firestick and Chromecast. Onn Google TV is literally 20x better. There’s a web browser as well
How to stup with Logitech Harmony elite remote with hub ?

Android 12 was released October 4, 2021
True, but not a lot of difference for the average person

Nope, won't pay for ad supported device. Ads upon ads.
Roku has been pushing for more ads & user preferences data
There aren't really ads from what I can tell, it's a super basic Google TV UI.

But what is the quality of this product, it IS Walmart after all
It's very similar to Google's, which is $50. Check Linus Tech Tips

Hmm, is this why my Sony Bravia Smart TV interface is horribly, laggy, slow, and glitchy? It appears to be running Android TV.?
Android Authority; 'Questionable long term reliability.' I bought two and the the first one lasted 31 days.

Try an Apple phone.
Ahhh, there he is! And from CA as well, who would have figured!
Android phones do it better than Apple & for less money 👍
Better than Roku? Not in my opinion.
Why not?
Roku is trash lol
