@@umisfarm9419 thank you. What will be your thoughts about agrivoltaic with mango trellises? I’ve noticed that at noon trees dehydrate and maybe a little shade from translucent photovoltaic panels might relieve some of it. Or maybe it’ll keep them from flowering.
Is the main point of this to protect the orchard from hurricanes? Because I know that it is also beneficial for trees that fruit from the stem. But mangos that grow on the tips, just seems odd to me to grow this way.
The trellis allow for better light interception which is the amount of light captured by the leaves of the trees. This increases yield and quality of fruit. It also makes it easier to manage with foliar applications and provides the structure to protect the fruit from sunburn and pests.
@@umisfarm9419 Thanks for the reply. I just didnt understand how you could have a big canopy for high mango production. But after watching more I think I understand now. Because you still let the tree bush out a bit. Thank you for making these videos and keep the updates coming
I've got a few varieties. Keitt, rapoza, nom doc mai, haden, white pirie, lemon zest, glen, and maybe a half dozen more and i'm always getting more varieties. Rapoza and Keitt are my primary varieties
Great details. Please provide rows orientation also.
@giovannifiorentino8947 north to south, that way as the sun passes east to west there is even light distribution throughout the day
