Simplest solution is to buy it from a local dealer. But if you don't want to pay dealer prices, check a local scrap yard. This is a simple part to remove from a scrapped car. I don't think glue will hold.
@@danc9590 yeai tried putting epoxy on it but still didnt worked so now i ordered the part but the thing is i dont know how to take the carpet from the trunk to get to the fuel latch. any tips on how to?
@@jamesp.7802 Epoxy won't work here. The surface area to bond is too small. Start by removing the plastic piece that is right at your knees when you open the trunk. I believe it was a couple of circular clips that pop out. Then you'll expose the carpet edge, get in there and look around for more plastic clips to pop out, there's a few of them holding the carpet to the frame. A flashlight helps. The carpet is stiff, so you'll end up fighting with it a bit. Use something to wedge it away from the car body to gain access to the cable + gas tank pin thingy.
I have a 2012 that has an access point I just pull off and I can get a hold of the pin. Your video doesnt show how you got the pin out of the body. Did you just pull the cable out from the pin/trigger or is there some kind of clip holding it in place to the body.?
Thank you so much for the video, I have just fixed the issue with my gas door.
Thanks. Worked like a charm! Fully functional again.
That's excellent, glad it's working again.
Good work man! Had this issue on my 1st gen mazda 3 and then again on my 2nd generation. I will go this a go later this week
Glad to know this video helped you. It's been a while since I did this and the little pin is still working well.
@@danc9590 once you got access to the pin, did you just pull it out or was there some kind of latch/screw or something holding it in place?
@@utalent the is a nut that needs to be loosened from the outside of the car. Once that's loose, you can pull/push it into the car.
Thanks, i will try this on my Mazda 5.
Thanks for the video, it saved me a lot of time
Glad to help!
Can u tell me the name of black door latch ? I also looking for it
The pin on mine broke when I was closing it. Will a glue fix it? If not, where can I buy that plastic pin?
