    so you could basically do this, if you fell on hard times, for around $332 per month, until you work your way out of a hole. that's pretty nice. i found myself evicted and homeless here in america, in virginia, at one point. my only recourse was to stay at an extended stay. i was working at amazon, around 17-18 dollars per hour, and was picking up 1-2 shifts of overtime every week, and was only able to afford the cheapest room, and barely enough left over to feed myself. it was like $300 per week/$1200 per month. the only other option here in the states is to try and hope you can find a shelter that had room for you, sleep on the street, or get arrested on purpose so you can stay in a jail cell. luckily i've worked myself out of that hole, but MAN did it feel hopeless at the time.
    i wish they had these here in the states, as it would solve so much of the homeless epidemic. yeah, people would still technically be homeless, but they would have more options on somewhere to go that is actually feasible. there would be less people stuck on the street.

  • @tjpaige3784
    @tjpaige3784 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +237

    Thanks for sharing this man. Im not homeless anymore, but a few years ago I would've given anything to be in a place where you have internet and a place to sleep for $12. That's crazy. Here in the US, when I was traveling from west coast to east coast, you couldn't find anything under $50...and even those were sketchy and dangerous. Japan seems to be pretty kind to poorer people.
    Wish you the best man!

      I was homeless in 2022/23. I slept in parking garages, outside churches, in the woods, and park benches. I’ll never forget the dread I felt when I stepped outside my final hotel stay knowing I’d be sleeping in the streets. I would’ve appreciated something like this at that time.

      @@lacey892 I live in Flint Michigan and the crack motel on Dort Hwy is now $75 a month! No deals, if you book the whole week... They know who their clientele is...Poor people that get government cash assistance and drug and human traffickers.
      If you're facing the possibility of being homeless in Genesee county...Good luck. There are programs but not one's that are going to help and definitely not for men. The few places there are, are glorified half-way houses and good luck not getting your belongings stolen and you only get to sleep there and then get out! No chance for peace or collecting yourself...just get back on the streets and get a job! That's the mentality of a lot. Churches obviously help but Idk if they ever do "housing" in that sense - they definitely feed the homeless, everyday in my old neighborhood despite it being a glorified 3rd world ghetto.

    I hope you consider a campervan (once you make enough money). I don't know if RV parks are normal in Japan (like in US). But I have lived in an RV since 2016. They have everything you need. You can add a mount on back for the moped you are getting. And of course you can still skateboard (but when you want to). Remember that it does not get easier to do stuff as we grow old. But a campervan would solve a lot of the problems of being homeless while still earning an income. Especially when it is really bad weather.

    I feel like it's things like this that make it easier for anyone in financial trouble to have it easier without the big need to worry what tomorrow brings. I also feel like it reduces crime aswell, since it easy to come by basic necessities without the need to break the bank. Sadly most countries don't care about homeless people at all.
    Glad i found your YT channel, videos look quite amazing.

The internet cafes have all the amenities and conveniences that allow people to be dignified. However, I wonder how safe the cafes would be if drug addiction and alcoholism are added in the mix.

    It's always astonishing that some Japanese urban areas look vast but almost empty. Usually circumstances like economic depression, war zones etc. lead to urban areas looking vast and empty, but Japan is different. Everything looks highly modern, organized, clean and orderly. I guess people in these places have their time planned out to maximum efficiency, and don't crowd up public areas if it's not for a specific purpose.

    A new sugar being used called Tagatose could replace sucrose if you also added some monk fruit extract you could make it so you used less and it (in a test tube it has, maybe not in people tho) anti cancer properties, anti inflammatory which is more important for your heart we found than cholesterol, also if you don’t brush teeth, a specific bacteria turns gram negative and this form of the bacteria is going through the blood stream damaging the artery walls and the inside of your heart, Japanese scientist found this recently, I wish I could make and sell products, I could make a cola which tastes the same but is healthy for you instead of bad, and if I can, so can they, and sucrose can be used for fuel also fermenting opioids so medicines without growing poppy fields, why everything is still unhealthy makes me sad, it could be cheap and healthy but we make stuff expensive and bad for you.

    Just got back from japan, i would say all of this is possible because most people in the culture put others and the common good first, at least on face value. Its a requirement. Most people dont abuse it and also you dont have to worry about random people breaking stuff, workers also have the mentality to do everything they are suppose to do even if the pay is low, not letting things degrade as a way of fighting their low pay and high expectations
    Japan is a great clean and polite society, but if you have any emotional intelligence you will pick up on a sense of crippling pressure on most individuals which i believe comes from societal pressures and expectations. For instance, i went when it was hot and no one other than tourists could be caught wearing a tank top and shorts. In my travels i only saw 3 people ever have their shirts off, one was a boxer doing a run in the middle of the afternoon and shadow boxing in 98degree 70% humidity and 2 older japanese men which i assumed were homeless because they were jus chilling under the bridge.
    If you have a problem in japan, you are expected to keep it to yourself, very evident with mental health. Delays in train travel are even classified as "person made contact" with the train when someone commits suicode via train. Also afterward if they have any survivng family members the companies will come after them for compensation that the delays bring.
    Im some one who loves rules and wish most people would live up to some common expectatioms but Japan is on a whole other level. Great to visit but i would not want to live/work there.
