    Really enjoyed this video. I will probably watch it ten or fifteen times just to absorb all of the useful info. I would love to see more videos like this because I am trying to teach myself to be better at wade fishing for trout. It is my personal goal to try and break my pb by the end of next year. Thx for the useful information keep it up!!

    Another great video. Always nice to hear different perspectives from different captains. It’s still a bunch to take in so I’ll have to watch it a few times. I’ve always fished live shrimp under a cork so there’s quite a curve going with artificials.

    Capt Caleb. Im so happy to have found your channel. We have friends in gorda and are down allot. I appreciate the detail you go into such as what to look for on the water, planning the tide and wind and just reading the bay. You make it easy to understand. Great visual detail in the camera shots. Just wanted to say thanks for the time you put into it. You're covering more in the vids about actually going out and fishing and im learning a ton.

    I like the guest appearances!
    I took a trip with Caleb this week and similar to what they described here, the weather just didn't work for where we wanted to fish. Even thought the bite was off, Caleb made sure we got off the water with something : knowledge. He took the time to really teach us the how and why of fishing. I can't recommend booking a trip with him enough. It's worth it just to ride on that badass JH Outlaw. Thanks again Caleb!

    • @CaptCalebTV
      @CaptCalebTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve talked a little about it, but typical rule is cleaner water/bright dirty water/dark. I don’t worry a whole lot about color. I’m more into profile and presentation.

  • @cameronater1747
    @cameronater1747 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you please elaborate on which side of the bay you choose according to wind direction and tidal movement? Do you fish the side that wind is coming from? I understand that when it’s real windy it’s better to fish the windward side because you’re more protected, but i’ve heard people say the wind can push the bait to the other side and that’s where you want to fish. I’m really confused by this

    Question, you talk a lot about fishing in the fall on low and high tides which is great info. I fish over here in west and east bay in Galveston. What are some pointers for summer fishing for trout or redfish?
    Thanks

    Great info, but what if you don't have a boat? Is there anything in particular to look for when scouting out new trout locations when you are either walking the shoreline or are near a road? Thanks in advance.

    • @CaptCalebTV
      @CaptCalebTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say it’s the same thing, but you’re just more limited on what you will have to settle for.

  • @christopherkoch5516
    @christopherkoch5516 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So do you want to fish the shore line in which the wind is blowing towards or what. I believe that's my issue.

    • @CaptCalebTV
      @CaptCalebTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the conditions. If it’s blowing hard and it JUST STARTED, yes, I love it. If it’s been crashing it for a long time, I’m less likely to do it. Most of the summer, we are fishing the side the wind is blowing away from.

  • @colbybosch6860
    @colbybosch6860 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I am new to chasing the trophy trout. When wading should I be looking for different areas to wade in summer and winter seasons? Also I have been trying to learn an area in East matagorda. In order to catch fish do I always need to be in front of a creek mouth or are there better ways to be productive?

    • @CaptCalebTV
      @CaptCalebTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can catch them in the same areas in summer and winter in East Matty. Big ol no sir as far as always needing to be in front of a drain. Go where the water looks good to you and there is bait, then go from there.

    • @colbybosch6860
      @colbybosch6860 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok we will have to try that next weekend. We had all the bait in the world at our spot this last weekend but the fish di not seem to be there. They may just have not been in there at that time of day even though it was right in the major. Thx for the help I will keep up the trial and and error till something sticks.

    when you decide to go to tails, which is probably later in the morning as the sun rises. Do you move out into a little deeper water or do you stay shallow?

    • @CaptCalebTV
      @CaptCalebTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on what you are seeing. Pat usually stays shallow. I’ll usually go deeper.

      Yeah, that's a great question because my buddy was down there during the new moon, five guys on my boat, fishing for two days, and didn't box a single fish.....cracked me up. I was down last weekend and limited on trout my first day then trout and reds my second day.
