Capt., great info. I love the way you are breaking down how you attack a specific area. Your explanation of your thinking and methodology of why you do what you are doing. Along with what baits your throwing and when your changing your baits or tactics based on conditions and weather. I CANNOT wait for the next video. I like the idea of breaking it down further and talking about one specific aspect instead of the whole "wade fishing 101" subject. But, more than that, I think it would be great to continue with the larger overview for the next 2 seasons. You have done Spring (Apps video) and Summer, now let's continue with a overview of Fall and Winter Strategies!!!! I can't wait!!
Great informative video. During the summer if the wind is not to bad I like to fish the North Shoreline, the South wind and grass helps with oxygen and seems to attract more fish. Thanks for such good content here in the home area. I normally fish West Galveston Bay and trying to learn more of it. Started Fishing inshore after moving here from KY 6 years ago and got my first inshore boat shortly after. I stumbled onto your channel looking into using Corky lures in the winter time and then found the video on the Surgeon knot. It's been a life saver. Keep the content coming, stay healthy, and one day I will use and catch a fish on a corky with the help of your videos.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion for this sport . your videos are the best I’ve seen on TH-cam . hey we will hit you up for a few wading trips in Matty .keep em coming
Awesome content! I am going next Thursday and Friday morning. New moon and hopefully the weather cooperates. This gives me the “How to look for fish” Thanks!
I’m a first generation fisherman, been self teaching for about 5 years now. Like others, TH-cam has been my fishing ‘textbook’.... and I have to say that in 5 years of watching I find your channel to be the absolute best resource for learning. This is probably my 5th comment ever on TH-cam but you deserve it brother. I’m really looking forward to booking my first guided inshore trip with you one of these days, you’ve definitely won my business. Please keep up these style of videos where you teach about conditions instead of just GPS spots, I’d love to see one of how you fish east bay in the future.
If I could put two loves on this one, I would! I appreciate the support and the fact you’ve taken your time to let me know what I’m doing is helping. And I really love to see someone wanting to get better more than to just learn a “spot”. If it were just spots, then this sport would be muchhhhhh easier.
Capt Caleb TV this sport is definitely very difficult, unless hard heads become a game fish then I have tons of “spots” haha. But I’m finally starting to understand patterns and your videos help a ton. I’m impressed by your editing skills and your content for someone who just started on TH-cam, I’ve seen many other channels take more than a year to get to your editing skills (but not even close to your level of usable content). Keep it up man, I’m excited to see what’s to come. If you ever need some ideas on what type of videos to make feel free to send me a message, I’d love to help the channel out the way you help us.
Best channel out there by far. There are lots of folks catching fish, but not many opening up and telling you how to catch them. I listen to bite me podcast all day at work and watch your videos in the evenings. As a transplant to the coast from Central Texas & having never fished inshore until this year, this stuff is gold to me! Also appreciate the advice on the reel the other day !
Thanks for the kind words! I’ve always enjoyed teaching without being one of those “go to this spot” guys. That spot is only good for a bit. Anything you can learn that is the overall big picture is timeless.
Solid video man. Gonna put these to work Wednesday morning when I get off of work! Also I’m gonna need you to show Steve the respect he deserves as head of the household!
How am I just finding your channel?! This is such an insightful video and I have been starting to watch your videos one after another. 😂Binge-worthy content for sure. 😎
Killer video again man. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos. I’ve never been wading, always drifting mid-bay structures and these tips give me some more confidence to get out there. I’m pumped for our trip in November. I bet the fall fishing tips you’ll post about will be 24 karat gold. C’mon Fall, nicer winds, and cooler temps! Love the success you’re having with your channel brother!
Not sure if you have already done something similar but, a video on how to adapt to certain winds, tides, weather changes, things of those sorts and what type of bait and fishing techniques to look out for when picking a spot in different weather. Hope that wasn’t too confusing just an idea👍🏼
You nailed it again! You don't mention a spoon (I'm personally not a huge fan). Do you ever use them? If so, when and where? Thanks and keep them coming.
Hey bro, you have the heart of a teacher. You've got this TH-cam thing figured out. I've learned so much more from this channel, already, than any other and please keep'm coming. A friend I work with has been the greatest mentor over the last few years and I've been watching videos to build on what he's taught me. Your content (including video footage) is helping put everything into a very understandable perspective. Thanks again!
I really appreciate the kind words. I honestly never knew I was simple to listen to, but I have went off of the confused looks my mom and my 8 year old give me when I’m trying to ask them to do something. 😂
You are my second favorite channel for saltwater fishing. I have watched all your videos except the boat set-up one and just wish you had more content. I cant wait to see your fat boy video because i love to use them and know not what im doing. Again thank you for the time you put into the content.
Super informative. I’ve been fishing about 5 years now( saltwater that is ) and I bought the Trout Support videos soon after I started fishing. Your videos have helped me as much as those have. I’ve always heard EM had quality fish there, been there once so I may one day have to book you. Keep videos coming and Tight Lines
Strawberry and white tout tails were first thing I ever threw in salt. I have been through every color there is and I now find myself on the basics: red/white, pumpkinseed/char, green/white. Even fishing the weedless gold spoon to site-cast reds. The more things change the more they stay the same. Kelly Wiggler makes a willow tail like that gambler lure that I like and is pretty durable to fish weedless.
Love the video like always. Yes your correct about the red and white. That color has been around forever. My grandpa always told me that was the go to color back in the day! Keep up the great work brother, I enjoy watching the videos!
I just found your channel and really appreciate your guidance and expertise. As a future new to saltwater fishermen I can’t wait to go to the coast this fall and try your techniques out! Thanks for speeding up the learning curve!
Very helpful video. Ss there any chance you could give some tips when you are planning a fishing trip but the weekend you are going fishing is not very good on the solunar charts and there is very little to no tide movement? I am fishing more sand and grass in the Corpus area. Thanks!
My whole family had it already and tested positive. I wade fished solo 5 days after the test but like 8 days after first symptoms. The regular flu I had 3 years ago was significantly worse. Thanks for the videos. God bless 🎣
I don’t even have any questions because this video answered so many and is relevant to the current conditions! At this point in the summer I start really looking forward to that cool fall fishing!
Great info, hope it helps me out next weekend when I head out to east bay. I am new to bay fishing and been learning the matagorda bay system. I am usually on a flat surf stacking up trout, but I've recently bought a boat and trying to learn the bay system in gorda. Keep it up bud, good stuff!
As we seem in West bay laterly , 2 tides 3 or 4 am high tide & high all morning /minor and then 5 or 6pm Low tide & major , if you could not fish both , which one would you fish?
As always, another great and informative dialogue. Without a doubt, I always pick up some valuable tools to improve my skill set and that is exactly what I seek. Another comment referred to the fact that you are not just giving out "spots", and this is a refreshing change from many of the TH-cam fisherman. You are teaching what to do when you get to your own spots and how to find new spots of your own. This is why I tune in on a constant basis. If I wanted "spots", I would just refer to my Hook&Line maps and be done with it. Relocating from regular fishing grounds of the Texas Coastal waters to the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores Alabama are and will be living on Mobile Bay. Have fished it numerous times but very, very different from the marshes of the Galveston, Freeport and Brazoria area. Should you have any "words of wisdom" for that part of the world, I'm all ears. Thanks for the thought, time, experience and work you pass on in your videos.
Question? When areas are filled with alot bait, especially on flats and grasslines, how do you distinguish your baits, but make your presentation appealing to the reds? Thx from NC
Sometimes it’s tough when there is a lot of bait. If I can locate the fish, I’ll put it past his face and either dance it or make it run past him, depending on how I see him react. If I can’t see them, I’m just gonna mess around until something works and stick to that.
The Gambler Lure Flappin Shad is one of my go to baits for trout. Laguna Glass color works awesome in the real pretty green color water and clear water too.
Another great video! I never post to TH-cam too except your vids and hope to hire you one day when this pandemic passes. Question: when you see bait and occasionally looks like it’s being chased and in distresses but no slicks are popping and not getting bites (hopefully not because of operator error :P), how long do you stick it out in that general vicinity before moving on?
That’s a gut feeling thing. You’re not always going to see slicks when fish are eating... Just have to recognize the bait that’s being chased and what isn’t. Also, if there is too much bait around, you can sometimes find yourself just being ignored because there is so much to choose from. Buttttt, if you feel there are fish there, the saying does, “never leave fish to find fish”.
Another solid video, very informative. Definitely like this "instructional" style of video, maybe one day you could incorporate some live footage showing retrieval techniques for the various lures... A lot of people don't realize it's not about a spot as much as it is about knowing what to look for, developing a plan then executing it. Thx for sharing the knowledge

Try a paddle tail and Throw out and reel it in. My favorite is a hogies, their cheap and durable. Salt and pepper works great on entire coast for reds mainly, but trout will nail it and flounda. The tail waggles and can feel the thump. early and late and or sometimes during mid day. when you feel the tail waggle on rid rip well you know you have a good sensitive rod.But want a decent back bone to set hook at around 30 to 40 percent from butt of rod. I would lean to 35 to 40 percent for big trout and reds . To sensitive, can loose bigger reds due to less pounds of pressure on hook penetration. The yo yo retrieve works great too, I use it to search in the water column. most times they will hit it half way up or at the end of the yo yo. Once you dial in that retrieve pattern,it is extremely deadly. Reds will nail it just swimming it shallow over grass. have caught large trout just reeling it semi fast as well. Even flounda, something about it trying to get away they nail it hard without thinking.
So waded as described west bay at carancahua cut. So tide was bottomed out as low as I ever seen it but got into a school of trout in deeper water nothing big but got a couple keepers. So does xrreme high or low tides changes your tactic?
Wow really enjoyed this one lots of very helpful tips and tricks. Thank you for what you do, hope that you get to go back to doing what we love so much soon after encountering the C word. Keep up the great work.
Do you think wading in the summer time less necessary than it is in winter? Do you think you could follow this same fishing tactic while staying in the boat and be as productive?
Mostly just understanding the area. One thing is, I haven’t seen grass grow real thick in mud often. After time, you just learn where the muddy spots are. Sometimes you’re in for a lesson when you pull up on your “plan”. Part of it!

Great info.
hope you are feeling better!!
The red and white KWiggler balltail bait is one of the best all around soft plastics out there 👍
Great vid
Solid video man. Gonna put these to work Wednesday morning when I get off of work! Also I’m gonna need you to show Steve the respect he deserves as head of the household!
Lmao. He was getting ticked off at Cade making racket in the other room.
Capt Caleb TV he was just tellin him to hush up for ya
You’re actually correct. Lol
How am I just finding your channel?! This is such an insightful video and I have been starting to watch your videos one after another. 😂Binge-worthy content for sure. 😎
Welcome to the fam! Thanks!
One more great video
Awesome content...priceless info...Thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful!
Hello from SPI. Found your channel a couple of weeks ago. Good stuff great job. Telling my buddies to subscribe. Keep it up.
Thanks!
I have been watching your channel for two months. You are my new go to for fishing the TX Gulf Coast. Keep it up Capt!
Thanks!!
Killer video again man. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos. I’ve never been wading, always drifting mid-bay structures and these tips give me some more confidence to get out there.

I can talk for days about the fall, you know it!
Capt Caleb TV we’re all ears!
Red and white makes'em bite!
What changes between late summer to fall transition ? You covered spring to summer - let’s get that fall transition!
Not sure if you have already done something similar but, a video on how to adapt to certain winds, tides, weather changes, things of those sorts and what type of bait and fishing techniques to look out for when picking a spot in different weather. Hope that wasn’t too confusing just an idea👍🏼
I will be getting to that before too long. That’s a lot of content to put together, but I will sure do it for y’all!
Capt Caleb TV we are thankful!

Great content. Could you do a winter edition?
I will, yes
Love your videos they are all super informative not just a Bunch if fluff like all the other fishing youtubers. Keep it up!!
Very informative sir. Love your approach. Thanks for the info . Will definitely give that a shot. Thanks Captain.
Back galveston wade fishing after a few yrs off.Been 4 times only 1 bite..practicing for winter sows..lol..wife is begging for red fish..
Stay healthy and keep the knowledge coming
Do a video on how you setup your baitcaster so not to backlash. You throw 1/16th oz on baitcasters?
Yes sir I do. I’ll definitely put that on the list.
Capt Caleb TV No cheating, no DC reels 😂
Thanks dude. Love all the tips. Being new to fishing, this is all super helpful. Learning what to look for.
You are my second favorite channel for saltwater fishing. I have watched all your videos except the boat set-up one and just wish you had more content. I cant wait to see your fat boy video because i love to use them and know not what im doing. Again thank you for the time you put into the content.
I already have a fat boy video..... go check my playlist.
Can you do a video on wading etiquette ?
What a great video. Lots of good info. Keep up the good work capt!
Great video buddy! Tons of awesome info!

Once again great video for learning how to fish wind and tide and visual keys. Let’s get out and put this info to work
Strawberry and white tout tails were first thing I ever threw in salt. I have been through every color there is and I now find myself on the basics: red/white, pumpkinseed/char, green/white. Even fishing the weedless gold spoon to site-cast reds. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Good stuff, went out this weekend and caught some nice trout and reds, took enough for dinner and released the rest.
Great job and thanks for the release!
Good job bud
As always you produce great info! Fishing during the dog days of summer can be pretty daunting, and any tips are sure helpful to us weekend warriors.
Angelers Anonymous is a very nice little hidden gem. A bit pricey, but you can find all the good stuff there!! Great vid!! Tight lines
New subscriber here!!
Worth an extra buck or two to find what you need! Thanks for the support!
Dude, thanks for being so clear and detailed on your videos!
what should i use in the surf in matagorda
Anything you want! I prefer plastics. Chicken on a chain or morning glory.
Capt Caleb TV thank you love the videos

Hope you and your family are holding up. Looking forward to the video on how to rig and work those lures you mentioned.
I don’t even have any questions because this video answered so many and is relevant to the current conditions!
At this point in the summer I start really looking forward to that cool fall fishing!
Good info on baits. Really need these pointers!

That was REALLY good! Ready for a field trip coach.
Thanks for the help.
Another great video man. Those subs keep climbing and I see that monetization happening too! Lesssgooooo
As we seem in West bay laterly , 2 tides 3 or 4 am high tide & high all morning /minor and then 5 or 6pm Low tide & major , if you could not fish both , which one would you fish?
Evening, I would say.

Ha I got up to see what my dog was barking at! Great info hopefully I get a chance to put it to use.
What is the best app to use for fishing times????
It’s in my app video... 😉
Buttttt, iSolunar is what I use. I break it down in that vid.
Thanks for answering my question
Another solid video, very informative. Definitely like this "instructional" style of video, maybe one day you could incorporate some live footage showing retrieval techniques for the various lures...
A lot of people don't realize it's not about a spot as much as it is about knowing what to look for, developing a plan then executing it.
Thx for sharing the knowledge
I definitely have that in the works.
Great video thanks for all the stuff your teaching us. Could you possibly go more in depth about the diffrent moon fases and what they do to the bite and how it affects the fishing? Thank you keep
Really enjoyed you getting down to the nuts and bolts of what lures you use this time of year. Hope the C word passes you by. Good luck bud.
I’ve been waiting all week!!
I have a request for a future topic. I am new to throwing artificials and am not sure if I am working my soft plastics right. I have had success slow dragging the lures on bottom but when I try twitching the rod tip I don’t catch anything. I’m confused to say the least.
It’s in the planner!
If it’s pulled way out, I will adjust. Lots of our bigger fish come from the described approach even when it’s shallow, though.
How shallow can your boat run in and how deep does it have to be for you to get up in
I can run in inches. Getting up is situational. If it’s soft bottom, I can get up sitting on bottom. Hard bottom, I would imagine 16-20”?
Wow really enjoyed this one lots of very helpful tips and tricks. Thank you for what you do, hope that you get to go back to doing what we love so much soon after encountering the C word. Keep up the great work.
Oh , and by the way absolutley your your vidios. Thanks!
Wow really quality information here man I look forward to booking a trip with you in the future!
Do you think wading in the summer time less necessary than it is in winter? Do you think you could follow this same fishing tactic while staying in the boat and be as productive?
Is the video specific to targeting redfish? Or trout? Or it don’t matter?
Pretty much whatever is out there, but me personally, I would be doing something like this if customers asked for a trout wading trip.
How do you know if the bottom isn’t so soft?
Mostly just understanding the area. One thing is, I haven’t seen grass grow real thick in mud often. After time, you just learn where the muddy spots are. Sometimes you’re in for a lesson when you pull up on your “plan”. Part of it!
Which shore is the south shoreline
Just aim down.
“Steve shut up” 🤣 at the 14 min mark. Let him get on screen he has followers too. Great video and channel!! I am learning a lot from these videos. Thank you.
Good stuff! Thank you
Love all the tips and advice you give! Keep it up! Would love to book a trip with you some day!
For anyone kayaking... This is the way as well.
oh btw , CC , reason for callin da the dredged out depressions conceptually “Joe Holes “ is cause my nephew Joe sprung da idea off of freeze event info ,,,,
Do you have any idea when you’ll be at Anglers Anonymous next? I live in Katy and would love to meet you! Great video.
Not sure, but if you follow my capt Caleb tv page I’ll be sure to make a post when I do.
Knocked it out of the park . Thanks for sharing the knowledge
Had that last weekend did good in early morning shallow then as it heated up it got tougher and fish we're deeper
Man, Steve is on the boat almost as much as you! Let him put in his two cents worth!
P.S. Hope all is well with your family
Nice 👌
