Hello from Cape Breton. We also have a Versatile, but ours is a 1994 Dodge, and sadly not a 4x4. I enjoyed the walk through, it’s always nice to see the differences in the makes and models.
Great tutorial! I am camping with my wife as I am watching your video in our 1998 Roadtrek 190 Popular. We love this thing and I understand your enthusiasm for yours . Safe travels.👍
Thanks for sharing! Yeah, I just started appreciating these Roadtrek vans, ie. 190 popular and versatile. I’m 2 years away from retirement, and researching my options. Kuhn truck and rv has these vans every now and then, but they are still costly, granted they recondition them prior to selling. Hey, maybe when you’re done with yours, you can sell it to me. Happy rving!
Nice Van! Nice review. Greetings from Sydney, Australia. Came here for your canoe reviews, but also enjoyed this video as I have just bought a VW California Beach 4motion… which like your Roadtrek is a fabulous bed on wheels adventure van. Also looking at canoes and kayaks as I am temporarily living on the Hawkesbury river, surrounded by wonderful canoe opportunities.
And another question my road track is 2007 210 ,when I first got it just a year ago I took it to a garage because I couldn’t figure out why the steering was so loose. Do you know why and does yours do the same thing
We really lucked out on the the 4x4. Although, I have to say, the weight of the Chevy Express even in 2WD is pretty steady on snowy roads. I've only used the 4x4 at trail head parking areas that were icy and had an incline, or once in a while on the highway when there was a LOT of snow. Thanks for watching!
Hi I loved your videos! I saw in an other video you replaced your generator is it possible to replace them to run on gas instead of the propane which they normally come with?
Thanks, David! This generator and my new one always ran off the gas tank which I love. Never have to worry about it as long as the tank is over 1/4 full. By the way, the new one is WAY quieter and I find myself using it all the time now. Crazy expensive though!
So, just caught some of your Roadtrek videos. We just purchased a 2004 190 Versatile. Love it already. Have you ever looked at replacing your kitchen faucet? Just curious if you explored that. The previous owners of ours also removed the seat behind the driver and had a custom cabinet built in. Love the added storage. We keep the bed permanent as well. Also installed a memory foam mattress. I use a paper clip to move zippers that don’t have a toggle ( thing to pull the zipper). The mattresses also cut quite easily with an electric knife. We enjoy your videos.
Thanks for watching, Brenda. We haven’t had to replace any plumbing yet. In fact, we’ve only replaced the generator and hot water heater. Everything else has worked well. With the exception of the DC mode on the fridge. That’s never worked and I’m not ready to do that upgrade yet as long as the propane and AC continues to work.
The current economy has really inflated class b RVs and prices fluctuate based on location. A great resource for pricing is rvtrader.com. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great tour. We've seen a lot of Roadtrek videos, yours is the best & most worthwhile. We've been looking for a 170 that matches our budget without success, so recently I have been toying with & looking for a Chevy Express Conversion van I can turn into a sorta Roadtrek.
I'm happy the read this was worthwhile. We were fortunate enough to get this well before the pandemic and before van life exploded. Good luck with your conversion. It will be fun and an adventure in itself!
i HAVE A 2007 190 POPULAR AND LOVING IT!
Buying a 2006 4x4 Popular this June for road trips around Alaska & possibly lower 48 in the fall & winter.
Thanks for the inspiring tour! Such a versatile van, looks great.
Nice rig! Love the Roadtrek, especially the skylights over the cab.
Thanks! 👍
These vans are ahead of it's time. Hard to find a van with this much versatility

My steering is okay, Karen.
Wish mine was 4x4..love it brother..2006 is what I have❤️

I noticed your bikes in the back doesn’t it make you RV a little bit too long that you can’t park in small parking areas on the street.
The rack certainly makes it longer. Shorter than a trailer or Class C, though! 😊
8 cylinder.....mmmm nice but how is the gas mileage?!🤔
No better than 14mpg.
I live in New England and checked out your video. December 2021
I hope you enjoy them. More to come. Thanks for watching!
Been looking for a 4x4 190V let me know if you ever want to sell it thx
The 4x4 is real helpful especially in New England. I understand why you’re looking for one!
What kind of gas mileage with the 4x4 Roadtrek?
Hey Dan - it gets about 13-14MPG. It’s less with the 4wd engaged, but I’ve never calculated it.
🎃 Absolutely 👍 nice rig 👀 looking forward to getting one 😘
It opens up lots of adventures!
Price?
How much did you paid for this beauty
We got this a year before the pandemic at a reasonable price. Today, they are going for $50k +. Yikes!!
Which is why we have the popular. Too old to crawl over each other for night time bathroom trip!
Its absolutely beautiful Sir. I hope to own one day.
Thanks for creating that private space.
Haha!!

Good job...
Thank you so much 😀
*So you're the one who bought it from 'Kuhn Bros. RV'.
We didn’t. There are a few of these around, but a rare breed!
Nice!!!
What isn't it for sale?
No...it's not for sale. :-(
Great review
Thank you for watching!
My favorite so far!!!
Always looking for content ideas!
