      salvation is found only in the LORD JESUS CHRIST alone, Who took upon the sin of the world on that cross, bearing the pain and punishment we deserve(d), that our sins may be atoned for, and He is risen [in glory] for our justification, that we may be made right with GOD, that we may know Him, be adopted by Him and reconciled to Him -- forgiven, set free from the curse of sin and death, and made as new creatures in CHRIST alone.

    That's maybe the best video comparison I've seen so far 👏. I want to point out e.g 3:36 (portrait mode) or 6:50 (night details) or 8:25 (night stabilisation). That's what make your channel so good. Big thx. Overall iPhone sensor seems to be king in low light condition. Samsung should concentrate on this instead of doing marketing gimmicks like increasing their 108 MP sensor even further to 200 MP. I guess 48 MP with 2x2 pixel binning is the optimum.
    One wish though: Please try to do your comparisons not only by perfect weather. This often leads to unexpected results. E.g. I'm still annoyed by iPhone cloud HDR Rendering, which leads to much too dramatic looking clouds.

      @andyH_England ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes, I know he is doing this at default settings but he should mention that the iPhone has profiles in case you want flatter or more saturated, and also as you say, it is very easy to change the exposure. Another thing they rarely mention in night mode photos is that the iPhone may default to 4 second exposure but can be upped to 8 seconds if you want more light. Also, the ProRAW on the iPhone has far more detail than the RAW on the S22U.

    Accuracy for me is #1, the quality of these flagship pictures comes closer and closer but there are still noticable differences in color tones and accuracy. The nightime video is an exterme example and while I prefer the iPhone overall, I think to record the real life color tones, brightness etc, is more important then to have extra sharpness etc. I also have a problem with these best-in-class photos sometimes when I realize how overprocessed some of them are...

    • @heyaisdabomb

      I personally like the colors better on the iphone, even if they are not as accurate. Also keep in mind, you can take 48 mp raw photos on the iPhone, while the s22 blends pixels to take it back down to 12 mp. The iPhone will default to the same blending of pixels down to 12 mp, but you can take 48 mp raw images which the s22 can not.

    Samsung have many things that could make photos look processed like detail enhancer, auto framing, scene optimizer and focus enhancer. I always turn those things off.
    focus enhancer icon is visible only when something is too close to the camera lens, you can turn it off then, it's not listed in the camera settings.
    And it goes without saying, everyone should turn-off the skin smoothing by tapping the magic wand and then tap the on button to turn it off, don't just use the slider.

  • @insertnamehere8723
    @insertnamehere8723 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I think we should scrap multiple sensors and have actual 1" sensors, variable apatures and an element that has a continuous zoom ranging from ultrawide, wide and tele. It really isn't a lot to ask for and is entirely possible to combine them and still retain zoom capabilities with a retractable camera system while saving space, since it wouldn't take up much more space than a cluster of sensors and would just cause a slight protrusion on the back, but we are all expecting that as it is and is ultimately for the sake of picture/ video quality.

    • @Dwivil
      @Dwivil ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that is a whole hell of a lot more complex to engineer compared to having several sensors. Its possible, but it will more than likely come with quite a number of sacrifices.

    • @insertnamehere8723
      @insertnamehere8723 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Dwivil if a version of the galaxy s4 could manage it almost 10 years ago, then it would not be hard to implement given the tim and focus in the right direction. The current method seems very much like a dead end and it's nonsense expecting large sensors for each individual camera type when all can be achieved with one. Besides, it certainly wouldn't come at the expense of water resistance, since it is very much possible given there are conve tional cameras that are water resistant, that, and popup cameras have come and gone with no impact to IP rating in practice and can easily be applied to a retractable camera element. The benefits mean a large sensor regardless of the picture mode - with an added benefit of a more practical use of higher MPs with less drawbacks with relying on binning and noise in video present on small sensors - continuous zoom, possible variable appature, DSLR-like picture quality and less reliance on software to get good photos.

    Thanks for this - was exactly what I was looking for. I'm actually coming down on the side of s22 ultra - overall it performs well in all areas I value, more so than the ipro. The colour differences with the ipro picking up more warm colours were really interesting but compared to the pros of s22 ultra (for me) I'm not concerned about that.
    Maybe I'm just used to Samsung cameras so I prefer the way their footage looks? I dunno, but I think it's best to stick with what you know as long as it continues to give you what you value (I don't really care about having the latest thing, and sometimes it's better to hang back and let others road test the newest devices until you know what all the cons and glitches are)

    On the iPhone 13 Pro / Pro Max 4k 60fps suffered a lot compared to 4k 24/30fps in terms of detail and dynamic range giving the impression that the A15 ISP simply couldn't keep up - potentially offering a lot of room for improvement on the iPhone 14 Pro models. That said it's possible that 4k 60fps could've gotten worse due to the A16 ISP having to process a much larger amount of data from the newer 48mp sensor. Has 4k 60fps quality noticeably improved (or deteriorated) on the iPhone 14 Pros?

    • @bigcdub
      @bigcdub ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @captureinsidethesound ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigcdub , FilMicPro allows the iPhone to record more information due to its LOG profile so this has little to do with quality as far as noise reduction. Video noise is better due to the larger sensor and the fact its technically still 12MP. Apple is just using the whole 48MP (pixel binning) marketing term to make its seem like they caught up with Samsung. The sensor is bigger but its not big enough to justify 48MP. 12MP is better for low-light scenarios and also renders a more realistic sharpness. This is proven with the Sony A7S line compared to their A7/A7R line. Sony provides Apple camera sensors so the same rules apply.

    I think usability is more important. sometimes accuracy has to be compromised because most people are not going to spend a lot of time editing video and photographs. obviously this applies to a point. If the content becomes cartoonish then there is a problem.
    I noticed that the highlights were controlled differently in each device. In some instances the Iphone would blow them out (i suppose to lift the shadows) In other cases the highlight details were retained. I wonder what the algorithm looks at when deciding these things.
