    Just want to say thank you so much for actually talking about upload and download speeds. I follow a fair number of slow travel vlogs and they never mention it. Even videos directed at digital nomads do not actually mention upload and download speeds! Keep up the good work. Love your channel!

    Great information. Very helpful. My wife and I are planning a visit to Saranda later this year....but we'll be staying in Corfu and taking the ferry over to check Saranda out. You both have been very helpful !!!

      Are you going after tourist season (mid September)?
      Not sure how long your going for, but if If your wanting to save a few bucks you might considering staying in Saranda, as it can be quite a bit cheaper than Corfu for accomodations. The ferry rides between Corfu and Saranda can add up quick at 30+ Euro each way.

      @@TheWanderingHartz Yes about after tourist season. Already booked our flights, arriving at the Corfu airport and staying in the Old Town area. I know the prices are higher in Corfu but we have never been to either Greece or Albania.....so we decided to start with Greece. Haha...We started taking Greek lessons two weeks ago.

      👍 We have really loved our time walking around Corfu Town. On our next time in Saranda we will definitely explore the island a bit more. Greek lessons? You are way more dedicated than us, lol
      Very Exciting!

    It's amazing how much more affordable Albania is relative to Costa Rica.

    • @TheWanderingHartz
      @TheWanderingHartz  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Curious, any guesses as to how much more affordable? 15%? Also a biggy is how easy it is to get things shipped to you there. Albania is not the easiest or quickest.

      @@TheWanderingHartzMy brother retired to Costa Rica 8 years ago. Within a year he was offered a 30k profit on a house he bought there. He sold out cause he saw the mass amount of foreigners ( from everywhere, not just the US) moving there & driving prices way up!

      @@TheWanderingHartz My wife and I have lived here now for over five years and have seen Costa Rica become increasingly more popular, which is partly why it has become more expensive (The other reason being the worldwide inflation felt by most everyone because of the pandemic and the war waged by Russia against Ukraine). I would also have to say that it's a bit apples to oranges (The comparison between countries) as the short term housing that one would regularly find on AirBnB here in Costa Rica has gotten really expensive, something that doesn't seem to have happened yet in Albania (Other than your high season sees the cost of housing go up significantly). Quality food (Organic/No pesticides) is also expensive here, as Costa Rica depends heavily on chemicals to keep the prices of food cheap. And finally, if your heart is set on living at the beach, a small apartment within walking distance in Costa Rica is going to cost you at least 1000 dollars a month, if not more. Overall, I would say to have the same quality of life as what you shared here in this video would cost a couple about 3000 dollars a month (Quality to quality). Of course, there are more affordable ways to do things here, because Costa Rica is still not a fully developed country the way that Albania appears to be. I love Costa Rica very much, it's just costs more than I was originally anticipating. Pura Vida.

      Thank you for the thoughtful explanation. Albania is working on becoming more developed. It has some way to go especially outside of the major cities. However the people really want to catch up with the west which seems to be one of the drivers of inflation there. But like you said, the inflation is a global issue, it is just that most people only see what is happening in their own backyards, not necessarily aware that it is in everyone's backyard.

      @@nursynikki if there's any kind of expat bar/cafe or coffee shop those are always good places to meet other people. We've stayed in "Coliving" style apartment complexes that have great communities where you can meet other travelers and locals. You can join coworking spaces and also join Facebook groups for cities that you will be staying in. Hope that helps!

    Do not believe the hype about Albania, especially Sarande… Sarande is a nightmare of construction, traffic, and misery. You can’t bring your car because it will be destroyed buy the roads and drivers have no respect for other peoples property

      @TheWanderingHartz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The Ionian Sea is a part of the Mediterranean Sea. Saranda offers a similar style of living, views and climate as other parts of the Mediterranean. Corfu, Greece is literally visible from Saranda.

    • @MichaelDieterle
      @MichaelDieterle 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Sorry, but this is nitpicking. The Adriatic and Ionian Seas are clearly part of the Mediterranean Sea. It’s not wrong but just a question of how specific you want to get.
