Those candy strawberries are amazing!!!! I had them in Osaka for the first time and wondered why they aren’t a thing in America? Why do we only candy apples? They are heavenly! I’ve tried making them at home but I can’t get them as thin as they did in Japan.
They’re sooo hard to make!

The bit about fortunes reminded me that in Peru my family had the custom to clean before new years, put lentils and grains on the corners of the home, which to me defeats the whole purpose of cleaning but it's supposed to bring in money and good luck to the house and eat 12 grapes at twelve while making a wish, some people do a wish per grape to simbolize each month. There was also the supersitition that if you wanted to travel that year, you could also walk or run around the block with a suitcase.

holy shit I didn't know senso-ji was famous for bad omikuji! I took my friend there when she was in town and she got Dai-kichi! I didn't do omikuji there since I already had also already gotten dai-kichi when I did hatsumode in Kansai lol, so glad I didn't risk jinxing it at senso-ji. Here I was thinking that maybe they've been putting in way more good fortunes since it's been such a rough few years 😅

A enjoyable Hatsumode video that became such a foodie video, gosh, it was amazing. (I didn't have a resolution but I did become a TH-camr (whatever that is?) this year, so its just a bit of fun but something I am able to do.) I wish I had done the Kinomo dress when I was in Japan, but alas, it wasn't to be. You looked fantastic in fact everyone looked fabbo in their fancy outfits!
