Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed is a series of television shows produced by Nash Entertainment in which the closely guarded secrets behind classic magic tricks and illusions are exposed by the Masked Magician, aided by his beautiful assistants.
The enormously popular TV specials and series featured the incognito magician performing large-scale illusions and a few smaller-scale close-up magic tricks... then revealing the secrets of how the tricks were done.

They gloss over that very important step: On the last "tap" upward, he releases the one already inside the bottle AND tosses the one in his hand upward towards that magnet so that it gets caught. This would require some serious practice to do it in a way that looks smooth and natural. Another way it could be done is A) Just drop the bottle cap on the ground (if you're doing this on dirt, carpeting or grass, etc) or B) have one of those retract thingies that would pull it up into your left sleeve when necessary.

The tricky part is the tossing of the bottle cap in his left hand so that it gets caught by the magnet AND not get noticed by the spectators.

At a reduced playback speed of 0.25 the video does not in fact show the bottle cap being tossed up by the left hand into a receiving right hand. It only shows the sequences of how this nice trick should be performed.

Catching the thrown-up cap with the magnet would be the more difficult part. I would try to ditch the cap somehow. That could be easier

How did he make the one outside the bottle disappear when he released the one inside?

When he lets go of the inside bottle cap he simultaneously tosses the outside bottle cap into the palm of his hand, and presumably it's caught by the magnet. The coordination it takes to pull it off would take quite a bit of practice.

Why’s that a bad thing though? Old tricks aren’t bad, in fact most old tricks are usually the most popular because they’ve stood the test of time, for example: 3 card monte, triumph, ambitious card, ACAAN, coin bend, torn and restored, ect. I fail to understand why your disappointed, any trick in all of Magic- old or new uses the same principals, techniques, gimmicks and sleight of hand that’s been around for centuries
