Baby's First Chiropractic Adjustment and Exam

- We get so many questions about infant chiropractic. Hopefully this video will help give you a better understanding of exactly what a typical infant exam and adjustment look like at Washington Park Chiropractic.
Our recommendation is that all newborns should be examined for spine and cranial fixation that can develop in utero and from delivery (especially infants born via c-section or assisted/complicated birth)
Additional common signs to look for include: persistent neck rotation, routine spitting up/vomiting, visible discomfort, difficulty sleeping, suspicion of colic, facial asymmetry, constipation, falls, or injuries.
Chiropractic care for infants and kids is safe, effective and can be an important part of your child’s life. Some kids are born into this world needing a little extra help, others need some help as they grow and develop. Our doctors can help parents determine what type of treatment is necessary as your kids mature.
Children should establish their chiropractic care history early in life. Just as a pediatrician does a wellness check-up on your children at key milestones, so do our doctors. Important biomechanical milestones include:
Birth
Sitting Up
Crawling
Walking
Running
Transitioning to Sports
Sports Performance
How will I know if my child should see a chiropractor?
During the first few years kids should schedule well visits monthly or as milestones approach. However, if you see any of the following behavior, schedule an appointment sooner:
Infant who has colic, acid reflux, trouble nursing, head tilt, trouble sleeping, severe irritability
Baby who is crawling unconventionally - scooting or commando crawling
Toddler who is increasingly clumsy or falls a lot
Child who jumps on trampolines often
Suspicion of scoliosis
Any sporting or casual fall or injury
Headaches
Pediatrician recommendation of brace, orthotic, helmet or other device, we can offer a second opinion. We work closely with area pediatricians to maximize your child’s success with chiropractic care. There can be common, easy to treat biomechanical reasons that your child may be symptomatic which are supported by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Articles and support can be found at the AAP. What a sweet, beautiful baby. I can understand why some adjustments are needed because birth isn’t easy and can be very harsh. Plus they’ve been in tights positions for many months. ❤
I am SO happy you chose to remove her clothes and do her undressed check OFF camera. All kinds of sickos watch content like this and we must always protect babies and children.
When my little guy was this age, his backed sounded like a machine gun going off, you could actually feel the cracking when you picked him up. He slept thru the night at 10 days, hardly ever cried, and walked at 10 months. I guess he self-adjusted himself..lol
Im 23 years old and my feet bones always crack every half hour or so from simple activities like taking a step. I would be the worst ninja ever. But im healthy and did sports all my life, so no pain. Some people just crack a lot.

@@alnavarre1447 it was. Cause people got up in arms about chiropractic adjustments on a baby, despite the very positive results it showed. It doesn’t help that the news showed it as if he had killed/badly injured the child by stopping their little short clip just before the results where shown.

Absolutely nothing to be "readjusted" on a baby.
Babies do get misaligned. Gentle manipulation is all it takes, no cracking or pain. Regular Chiropractic care can help relieve in babies,
Ear infections and ear aches, Colic and acid reflux, Fussiness, Feeding and breastfeeding/latching issues

No judgment but isn't the standard recommendation two months before newborns leave the house due to their immune systems? You want to wait until first round of vaccinations to avoid RSV or whooping cough, never mind cold/flu. Has the recommendation changed?

Do you even know what she is doing or assuming that adult chiropractor and pediatric chiropractor are the same? Did you do her schooling, get her license? Do you know anything about what you are asking about before you typed this question out?
