I think recasting him with a decent actor to play the role and honor the previous actor is better that just killing him off. I personally liked what they did with Spartacus when Andy Whitfield passed away due to cancer. They recast him and the new actor tried his best to honor him. I don't know how killing him off and gender swapping black panther is honoring Chadwick in any way.
5:00 My fan theory WAY before the sequel was announced. Was they were gonna retcon Killmonger's Death. That he tried to end his own life but the suit held him together long enough for T'challa to take him to be healed. And he would have just been locked up for 5 years. And in that time he reflected on his actions. So much so that when T'challa dies it affects even him. And then they have some new threat to there home, but sadly no Black Panther to protect Wakanda, except for Killmonger. And the movie would be his redemption, with the help of Shuri and T'challa's Mother. While also going through the emotional pain of losing T'challa. But it guess that was just wishful thinking. I also mainly hoped for that just cause I LOVE Michael B Jordan and the character Killmonger.
M’Baku should have been the black panther IMO…he has the on screen charisma, he’s an absolute beast which makes physical feats seem plausible, and he was already a contender in the last film…all the pieces were there.
Chadwick Boseman was a fine actor who did a good job in the role. However, in the end, he was an actor, not the role. T'Challa should have been recast. There is ample precedent. How many Bonds have there been? Superman? Batman? Joker? Inside Marvel, and even the MCU, how many Banners/Hulks?
Chadwick deserved a better movie than this. Rather than fold to his overlords, Ryan Cooglar should have taken his time, put out an hour long Tribute to Chadwick Boseman on Disney plus, made a much better sequel with a new TChalla, and honored the actor the way he would have wanted according to his family.
In regards to maintaining the character and recasting him? Disney cannot pass up any opportunity to gender swap any major character so this was a no brainer for them.
The dumbest part of the entire movie is when agent Ross gets caught helping wakanda and the cia lady says “I had the beads bugged before you got there” How the fuck did she “bug” wakandan futuristic vibranium technology in only a couple of hours? And what made her think one of her agents would even pick it up and know how to use it
It's like Q becoming 007 it just doesn't work also I think it would have been better if M'Baku could have taken up the title or even bring back killmonger and have him become the new panther but with a different mind thought of him waking up from a coma and finding out his cousin actually kept him alive and that now he is striving to become a better man and try to be a good leader and panther in honor of his cousin which would have probably have worked or at least been better then the shit they made
Michael B. Jordan as the new Black Panther from another universe sounds like a pretty good idea! Sadly, we live in an era where male characters cannot have protagonist roles.
I don't mind people liking the film, my problem comes from the people who think it's another 10/10 home run film from Disney marvel with yet another perfect villain.
I would have rather they did a recast but since they did it the other way , I would have put the Suit on Okoya , Nakia, or the Queen herself Miss Basset. They were tough ass gals who looked like they could take care of business.
Why the fuck didn't they just make okoye black panther 🤷🏻♂️ she's a warrior who's sole purpose was to protect the king so they could have set it up with a beginner scene that shows Chadwicks black panther without having him show his face be killed and okoye feels the guilt of not having done her sworn duty so when you introduce namor and his intentions to end wakanda she steps up as it's new protector and yes I know she's not royalty but they could of made an excuse to allow her to be the black panther even it's it's just for the interim.
The entire script breaks in the first fifteen minutes because the entire rest of the movie would not have happened if Wakanda hadn't reneged on their trade agreements.
I owe Tyrone an apology..... Every time I watched one of his videos about Black panther and he said recast I was like get over it they're going to honor him it's going to be great.... Sitting in the theater watching this movie I was like wow they should've recasted
In Fast and Furious, Brian is living well somewhere in the world and they honored Paul at the same time! Marvel easily could have recast the role and honored Chadwick, it's what he would have wanted, for the show to go on.
For me all I did was make a joke about this movie. And I got so much hate from back at me. I had people call me a racist, a Nazi and a terrorist. They were going all through my Facebook page. I'm picking apart every selfie I've taken with myself not very many because I don't take a lot of pictures of myself. And said I take good pictures for serial killer. And also the amount they were slapping each other on their backs was amazing cuz someone would insult me and then you would see people replying to that person's insult saying good one. He's going to be crying from that. I just sat back and laughed my ass off so much and I didn't respond to a single person. Because I know that if you try to do anything with these people, they will not be bothered to listen to you. They will be ignorant as fuck and rather stay in their own little bubble. Also the thing I found funny too was that they kept saying I was American even though I live in Canada and was born in England.
Great point Tyrone. That option of a new Black Panther in a Multi Universe is not off the table. They could always find a talented Male Recast of Black Panther.
Tyrone is absolutely right about movies not being good by virtue of making a lot of money as thr same can be said about movies that are good but don't make a lot of money. For example: Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
that is why i love Tyrone and Critical. they always say the most underrated truths that can be related most of the time instead of giving us long nonsense talk and goes nowhere. this is super super true, the only types of ppl who enjoy bad movies are those who work in the media and the wokes. i used to work in a movie promoting company and god, we need to love all kind of movies because we need to find that positive angles and blast it off the internet. we had to help the clients no matter how bad the movies were. we had to lie, we had to fabricated, and sorts of thing. when u worked with those kind of bad movies everyday, Wakanda Forever has become a great movie if u do a comparison.
"...and then I watched the rest of it." That line by the Drinker tickled me good. Honestly I'm kinda sad that the film is mediocre, because the cast behind this film has some excellent talent in it. They deserve better. And it's astonishing that the writers had to ruin the film by trying to make it more woke. Because apparently a world in which we can create a high budget film that's lead by a black female cast isn't woke enough for the political progressives.
Yea Chadwick wasn't like that to not give another actor a chance to shine... Most are making emotional decisions to not recast and Riri just able to go home after being pursued by the government was silly as hell to me
By the way does anyone see that this movie is the exact same plot as the first film. And I said it from the beginning, there should have been a third party who manipulating the two nations hoping they’d weaken each other so the winner could be destroyed and vibranium taken.
A possible recast and secret wars intro. During the challenge with killmonger, once T'Challa was throne over the waterfall a Skrull replaced him. I'm genuine surprised and have been since the first Black Panther that these films have been so well received and not more complaints have been made about them being culturally insensitive. I mean, the stereotypes are off the board. Wakanda is meant to be a prosperous nation with near infinite resources and some of the most modern technology on earth. Why do they have spears? When Thanos invaded in Infinity War, why didn't Wakanda have tanks, missile launchers, jets, nukes? Why are spears and clubs not seen as stereotypical racism? Maybe because the people who think it's ok are people are so American that their view of Africa is as racist as the next guy. People who have never been to Africa and think of Africans the same way they think of any other nation, how they saw them on old TV shows. Giving an African Nations spears and claiming that is culturally accurate to such a nation would be like having a film in which all Americans are depicted as Tri Corner Hat wearing, Musket wielding, Indian Shooting, wagon riding, frontiersmen. Or all British people being depicted as Victorian gentlemen with moustaches, suits, top hats, monocles and drinking tear out of a tea cup and saucer. Cork hats for Aussies, Lederhosen on Germans, stripped shirts and garlic belts on Frenchmen, and Conical hats on the Chinese. What would Wakanda really look like if it was the most powerful nation, at least in Africa, but potentially the world? Haven't seen it yet, but I'm honestly in no hurry to go see it either. My opinion they could of just let this movie be and by that I mean not make a second Black panther.
My biggest disappointment was mbaka being destroyed by 1 punch from namor and but 110 lbs shuri who we have never seen fight beat him. I wanted to recast tchalla but if you had to make a character be the new black panther why not okoye? She lost so much and is a proven warrior I could believe her with the erb enhancing her power but not shuri. Also the rescue from tolokan seemed too easy
No one did all this when Heath Ledger died, and Joker wasn't in the final Nolan film. No one mentioned the character at all. Nolan did that to pay respect to the actor's family; I can sacrifice one moment of entertainment to pay respect to an actor. They literally did the same thing. No one even wanted a new Joker in a different universe. Entertainment isn't everything; would it have been a better film if he was alive? Absolutely. They both would've been, but they died. It is what it is. He wasn't just a character; he was their friend. Boseman played the role WHILE DYING of cancer, and none of the cast or producers knew. It's not like Marvel didn't introduce the multiverse or different universes; another version of the character is already alive. We have five different Lokis, three Spider-Men, two Wandas, two Captain Marvels, five Doctor Stranges, and four Thanos,. Technically, this isn't the first T'Challa that died; Killmonger already killed one in the What-If series. There are others. The Kang storyline will have the same characters from different timelines.
Bro they literally could've made this story contextual filler for Disney+ to give more time for them to secure a new actor to take on the role for the sequel...
Everyone's review over this movie seems to be extremely split...a lot of people liked it a lot of people didn't like it...which is absolutely ok we just all need to respect one another opinion and move on with frickin life
Boseman actually said he was getting tired of BP bc people kept calling him TChalla in real life & just wanted people to understand that it was just a movie, this new film felt distasteful
It was Riri's idea to heat out Namor lol it was quite random so beg to differ she was brought in to give one line to move the story along xD Idk I liked the film generally but deconstructed like this I can see how it's questionable in many ways.
Mcu really died after endgame didn’t it? Like it’s really amazing how bad the mcu became after endgame, but I guess that’s what happens when ironman and captainA and Chadwick are no longer in the MCU, i think the only character I enjoyed watching their movies after endgame is Spiderman... i'm worried for Daredevil new show ngl because he’s my favorite character in the mcu
Like my guy from sponge Bob Square pants says " Oh brother this guy's stinks" as a black man this movie was hot garage smh the only part I liked was the end with little tchala son of king tchala.
Hey, many years ago, Robert Downey Jr. stated that Tony Stark was like James Bond ... you could swap out actors when they burned out or got too old. A new actor would have been a lot better than ,,, RiRi Williams.
Awesome to see you posting Tyrone. You truly strike me as an unbiased person who judges people based on their character rather than on their race. I liked the first black panther but thought that it was a little overrated, people called me racist for that opinion lmaooo. Cool to see someone who has opinions regardless of who created the movie, and regardless of what they would be called by people. We need more men like you out there. Good luck brotha! Looking forward to more!
I think Chadwick wouldn’t care if it was a recast nor was it a female black panther. Recasting regardless at least its someone he knew and worked with. They did what they could to make it what it was an unfortunate death of a main character is not easy to respond to. I wouldn’t agree with a 2.5 that’s just ridiculous in my opinion. I guess if Tom holland passed people would be bitching if they made zendaya the Spider-Man(girl) I rather her step up then a random or his other friend. Some people just don’t agree with a female lead role. Besides if you seen the movie his soon is deemed to be the new black panther anyway so technically they did recast. Ur opinion is what you want but I’m just saying a 2.5 is like a disaster movie and I don’t believe it was that at all.
wrong hobbit though, he's that fool of a Took, Pippin. I was hyped for Namor from the moment he was rumored for the movie, you know, Marvel's first character, also a mutant, and one of my favorite anti-heroes. just to change every aspect of him plus waiting for Dr. Doom post scene that got cut, even more of a disappointment.
The only thing I don’t really like is yea they showed clips from the old movie but damn you coulda showed a behind the scenes or gave a REAL tribute to Chadwick at the end of the movie. Have them show clips or talks with him or shit even have his wife speak she spoke with Whoopi on him. I think he deserves that more than worrying about if Chadwick CHARACTER is recasted like come on with a rip at the end
I'm not sure if I liked Black Panther Wakanda Forever. I think it's okay for an MCU movie if you just view it for what it is. Even so, my feelings towards it are neutral at best. I enjoyed Black Adam more, to be honest.
Yo Tyrone if you see this, I do appreciate your honesty, and it’s true most of the people that prob like it are kinda that way, and if you don’t, RACIST, the card that everyone pulls now a days smh
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is not a MESS, But it was a big Meh! I actually got bored in most of the scenes. However, why do you want to find real-world logic in a cinematic universe? Real World Logic is the end of every superhero movie universe. Be it DC or Marvel.
I think recasting him with a decent actor to play the role and honor the previous actor is better that just killing him off. The Critical Drinker is absolutely spot on, I can't believe how much I agree with him on this film.

6:02 man Tyrone U are talking facts bro. Just because a movie makes alot of money doesn't mean its good
Why the fuck didn't they just make okoye black panther 🤷🏻♂️ she's a warrior who's sole purpose was to protect the king so they could have set it up with a beginner scene that shows Chadwicks black panther without having him show his face be killed and okoye feels the guilt of not having done her sworn duty so when you introduce namor and his intentions to end wakanda she steps up as it's new protector and yes I know she's not royalty but they could of made an excuse to allow her to be the black panther even it's it's just for the interim.

First we watch Drinker. Then we watch Magnus. Life is good.
Oh thanks Tyrone, now I want to see the ancient Banjo door opening ritual in a film. 🤣
I heard that Marvel didn't want to seem just like Aquaman over at DC. They wanted to distance themselves from DC's Atlantis.
Damn….Drinker just dropped a master class in truthful analysis.🤯🤯🤯🤯
I owe Tyrone an apology..... Every time I watched one of his videos about Black panther and he said recast I was like get over it they're going to honor him it's going to be great.... Sitting in the theater watching this movie I was like wow they should've recasted

Namors salute goes back to the Aztec/Mayan drawings where the warrior has one hand open and a weapon in the other above it.

He actually said that he don’t wanna be black panther forever and others should play the character
The banjo reference killed me! 😂 Bang on!
I don’t get why William Hurts Thunderbolt Ross being recast with Harrison Ford after his passing is ok, but T’Challa being recast is not.
Okoye and the fight scene on the bridge was NICE!
Need more of Tyrone on the Drinker's podcast!
I think the Hadouken was supposed to look like the shark jaws on the throne
"...and then I watched the rest of it." That line by the Drinker tickled me good.

that one guy marvel didn't require to bulk up is the one that spent the entire movie shirtless.
Yeah I was disappointed they should’ve made the queen black panther for a minute better yet okoye that shit would’ve been insane
Yea Chadwick wasn't like that to not give another actor a chance to shine... Most are making emotional decisions to not recast and Riri just able to go home after being pursued by the government was silly as hell to me
5:07 I gave it 2.5 out of 5 stars. But I feel the same way.
6:01 - 6:11 "That all rhymed. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Bars" Lol
That Skrull would eventually fall in battle with Na-more. And the post credit scene would show Wakandans readying the body for burial. Only for the King to morph into a deceased Skrull.

You and drinker make some good points about the aesthetics of Black Panther. Well, just google African Army and you will immediately see pictures of less powerful modern African armies with Guns, Camo and Helmets. That would be a start.
I thought the hand gesture the fish people were making were in reference to a shark's mouth.
They could have brought Killmonger back from another universe. That would have been cool.
As a Banjo player, I can confirm that that’s how I open doors
They did Paul walker well, in the FF franchise.
To kill off an A list character because the actor died or is/was not able to play the part again, is financial suicide and a franchise killer, especially with such a unique and iconic character as black panther 🤦🏻♂️.
Maybe have a look at ‘thorias unlimited’ channel, on his review, he really didn’t like the riri character at all 😂.
Another great reaction video 🙂👏👍.
We ain’t come to see a movie about wakanda we came to see black panther. Marvel playing games
They blew a chance to make a real masterpiece. This could have been up there with the lord of the rings etc , they blew it way too many nuances that were missed .
the hand guesture by ocean man and his crew. Is the megladon shark chair/throne that he sits on in Atlantis
I think it would’ve been cool if they brought back killmonger and grew him as a character and made him good and the new black panther
I don't think the whole Universal rights thing is an actual issue. If so, they wouldn't be able to use the name and the resemblance at all. This guy is clearly intended to be Namor of the comics and both pronunciations of his name were used in the movie. They changed the ethnicity because they had a goal of not having any major characters who are white.
Haven't seen it yet, but I'm honestly in no hurry to go see it either. My opinion they could of just let this movie be and by that I mean not make a second Black panther.
Within that first 1 and half minutes into the video, YES! Thank you Tyrone!
My biggest disappointment was mbaka being destroyed by 1 punch from namor and but 110 lbs shuri who we have never seen fight beat him. I wanted to recast tchalla but if you had to make a character be the new black panther why not okoye? Dude the Michael b jordan recast would have been great
man love this!! thank you for being real
I enjoyed it had some issues and things I didn't like but was good.
Same thing I felt about the movie.
You had me at hadouken 😂 😂
I took it as Namor wanted the wakandans pitted against the US, which they almost did.
I get your point and all, but the whole banjo playing to open a door thing is a good idea. Made me laugh my ass off.
Bro I felt the same way about Braxton in that movie! U killed me bringing that one back!
This movie deserves all the criticism it’s getting fair or other wise.
Everyone's review over this movie seems to be extremely split...a lot of people liked it a lot of people didn't like it...which is absolutely ok we just all need to respect one another opinion and move on with frickin life
anyone else find it kind fucked up that they basically killed off tchalla the same way that chadwick died in real life?
YESSSSS another Tyrone drinker reaction. i love both of you.
Boseman actually said he was getting tired of BP bc people kept calling him TChalla in real life & just wanted people to understand that it was just a movie, this new film felt distasteful

Watching Drinker's video, and then watching your reaction to it is like a habit for me how haha.
I have been saying what Drinker said about Wakanda for years.
wrong hobbit though, he's that fool of a Took, Pippin. I was hyped for Namor from the moment he was rumored for the movie, you know, Marvel's first character, also a mutant, and one of my favorite anti-heroes. just to change every aspect of him plus waiting for Dr. Doom post scene that got cut, even more of a disappointment.
Tyron, you need to be an actor in Rogue Elements!
It was a great Wakanda side skit movie but it was definitely NOT a Black Panther movie..
I’m sure Ryan coogler will do better the next movie . I have faith in Ryan.
That's too much like right Tyrone why would Marvel take your advice!
You damn right Tyrone I been waiting on your reaction to the drinker reaction since I heard the movie was coming out lol😂😂😂😂😂😂let’s gooooooooooo
The first minute was gold😂😂😂😂
How is riri able to build the device and the arc reactor when she is just a college student?
The only thing I don’t really like is yea they showed clips from the old movie but damn you coulda showed a behind the scenes or gave a REAL tribute to Chadwick at the end of the movie. Have them show clips or talks with him or shit even have his wife speak she spoke with Whoopi on him. I think he deserves that more than worrying about if Chadwick CHARACTER is recasted like come on with a rip at the end
I've been called a racist for daring to make a criticism of Wakanda Forever. (I said they should have recast the role).
I watched it a few hours ago, and I thought it was decent.
it had a more serious tone which i liked and marvel needs to do more, but i still found it kind of eh
NAMOR IS STRONG AS THOR AND HULK BUT SHURI BEATS HIM TO SUBMISSION IN THE FILM????!?!!?........GET THE F*CK OUTTA HEEERRRREEEEEEEEEE
When Christopher Reeve died, they recast Superman. Later on, but still...
More appropriate title: Skinny Kitty & Janky Mega Man Meet Featherfoot
I get the ugly feeling that Disney was just waiting for an opportunity to get T'challa out of the picture to slide Shuri in that main role...
When I heard Original Gangsters I had to like the video😂
it baffles me how people think either not seeing the film or not liking hte film is a form of racism. The world we live in these days man.
I'm not sure if I liked Black Panther Wakanda Forever. I think it's okay for an MCU movie if you just view it for what it is. Even so, my feelings towards it are neutral at best. I enjoyed Black Adam more, to be honest.
Also watched his video a few hours ago
Yo Tyrone if you see this, I do appreciate your honesty, and it’s true most of the people that prob like it are kinda that way, and if you don’t, RACIST, the card that everyone pulls now a days smh
Just a theory but I think wakanda can do the sirens too but in another way ..I hope🙅🙌
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is not a MESS, But it was a big Meh! I actually got bored in most of the scenes.
However, why do you want to find real-world logic in a cinematic universe? Real World Logic is the end of every superhero movie universe. Be it DC or Marvel.
