Will Warmoth ever have better neck heel joint access? I think doing something like what Fender did for the neck heel on the American Ultra Strat would be a good call to do if possible, Warmoth!
Does Warmoth offer reverse split P pickup routes? And in both the neck and bridge positions? Or even a standard split P pickup route in the bridge position?
Makes a lot of sense, and in many cases goes without saying. The only thing that has me scratching my head is that the whole point of going with a Warmoth is for the “endless” options, you can’t get from the big brands (and hopefully at a more affordable price). Short of that, the only part that still doesn’t make much sense to me is. The 4A flame maple selections. Or, on a neck a 4A baked maple option. From what I’ve seen those are still off menu. Short of that, I could definitely see where this could become a 3-headed monster in some cases.
I completely agree with the examples you gave especially with different/higher end woods, and having painted headstocks. However, I’m still confused on why the single inlay at the 12th fret isn’t an “on menu” option. I’m assuming the inlays are cut with a cnc machine. The only thing that would be changed is the coding for how many inlays you want cut out, and I’m assuming that Warmoth already has the coding for that since they offer the inlay at the 12th fret as an “off menu” item.
How about a 7/8 scale tile back paddle head? I have my own headstock design that I want to use, knowing that it would be a no warranty/no return item since I’ll be cutting into it.
My biggest question is why there are different wood options for different necks? For example, I wanted a Warhead neck with flame roasted maple, but I can't choose that on the website... But if I switch the neck to a "normal" Strat replacement then I can have that wood
I just spec'd out that very neck, Warhead roasted flame maple shaft and fretboard, no nut and no finish. No other extra-cost options. $322usd in June '24.
I once tried to order a modern tiltback neck with a goncalco alves (I think? this was 30 years ago) shaft wood, and I was told they couldn't do it because the wood was too oily to glue the scarf joint. But a Strat neck doesn't have a scarf joint, so then it isn't a problem.
I hope to find that neon colors are available off menu when I can afford another one (I managed to buy the last neon blue satin body in the showcase, a Soloist body, years ago.).
Not necessarily an ‘off menu’ thing, but I’d love to see set neck offerings. I’ve built 4 warmoth guitars and would love to do more but I can’t justify having anymore bolt ons 😅
Great video as always Aaron. Thanks for going over this. I'm one of the people who asked about what was the universe of off menu stuff just to get an idea. Whenever I'm thinking of ordering a new neck with a mahogany shaft I always ask if they can get roasted mahogany for the neck shaft . So far the answer has been no, but maybe one day I'll be lucky. I have noticed that some woods have disappeared from custom body builds. Can I ask, Koa tops seem to have disappeared from Stratocaster builds. As a software engineer myself, I don't really see the examples you gave as particularly "difficult" to add to the online builder -- now, that's not to say that there aren't, perhaps, **logistical** considerations after the order is placed; I don't know what your production line looks like, but just saying, "it's too hard for the website," makes me think you just have lazy-ass engineers building your site.
Putting the 1/2 inch output jack hole back on the menu for the telecaster body can't be that hard. Seriously, we're talking about drilling a half inch hole rather than 3/4 or 7/8. How hard can that be? And would there really be an overwhelming amount of people choosing that option?
Off-menu options feel like you have built a relationship with the shop, you're the regular and known person. Like instrument stores throw a pack of strings or a strap as a freebie on top of your instrument purchase and the shop guy tips you on some new cool items. A big burger chain might not quite be that special relationship, but I guess that's more of a "I've been accepted in the cult".

Your explanation of point 2 ("The custom builders are crazy-go-nuts!") was kinda lacking, imo. There are webapps out there that are build on literally hundreds of thousands of conditional (IF) statements.
They’ve had website issues for the last couple years so I can only assume their dev team might not be the right guys to take on this scale of project.
@@bruzanhd This scale or any other.
The "New" website does nothing as well as the old one did, at least on the customer side.
@@jefft7968 Agreed, I was trying to be nice with my wording haha.

I wish Floyd Rose Pro route was an option on a strat body.
Putting the 1/2 inch output jack hole back on the menu for the telecaster body can't be that hard. Seriously, we're talking about drilling a half inch hole rather than 3/4 or 7/8. How hard can that be? And would there really be an overwhelming amount of people choosing that option?
Please make warmoth amplifiers 😅
Off-menu options feel like you have built a relationship with the shop, you're the regular and known person. Like instrument stores throw a pack of strings or a strap as a freebie on top of your instrument purchase and the shop guy tips you on some new cool items. A big burger chain might not quite be that special relationship, but I guess that's more of a "I've been accepted in the cult".
Will you make a 3/4 scale neck i.e. duo sonic?
Duo Sonics use a Mustang/Jag neck.
@@UncleSlam1776 duo sonic came with 22.5 scale neck fender no longer makes that scale
@@UncleSlam1776 Original Duo-Sonics were 22.5", the 24" scale is for Duo-Sonic IIs and modern Duo-Sonics.
