As mentioned in the video, if the owner decides to sell the Integra we’ll be happy help assist. In the meantime, it’s great to see him continue to enjoy the car.
John: The gentleman is very lucid and staying active is what keeps us all going. My personal goal is to get a speeding ticket on a "well ridden" sportbike with white hair. GOD bless him! Have to LIVE👍
thats soo cool to see a older dude still rockin a JDM classic. Man i want this to be me in my 2001 E46 330ci , but i might be selling it for a jeep soon. not sure yet.
This reminds me of my friends dad. 70 years old and dailied a 90 crx with a turbo gsr. He also had tons of shells in his yard. Also had a EBP EM1 that was MINT. Never thought I'd see something like this again. Not only that, but you usually see low mileage DC2 examples but one with 194,000 miles is insane
This is definitely the Type R that we've probably all seem the meme/photo by now of the old lady driving driving it. Absolutely awesome to see him driving and enjoying it but..this is the guy you want to make sure he sells you the car when he's done with it and doesn't just trade it in to some random dealer for nothing.
Love these stories. I remember offering an older couple 15 grand for a mint low mileage late 90s b14 se-r because I wanted to go back to where I started. They never bit though so now I'm just waiting until 2023 so I can import a vzr. Just one more year!!!!
What a fantastic story (and car!). So cool that both him and his wife are driving the car. You guys are definitely the right people for the job to fix it up too :)
been to shops and been turned away bc they didn't feel bothered to work on my car. It wasn't hip or cool enough for them. Good help is hard to find these days. made his day telling him he could get 25k plus for the type R. wish yall shop was closer, Could use that LHT touch!!!
If I had disposable income I’d pay to have that man’s car completely restored. I’m sure he’d like to experience the sunset years in it like it was when it was new.
John, this reminds me of my ap1 I bought last year. Bought it off an 80 year old Grandma that owned it for 15 years up here in Canada. Never seen 9k rpm in the whole time she owned it.. :-)
That is amazing that car definitely keeps him young, he needs to pass it down too his grandkids,,what amazing your never to old to enjoy a Honda, I was watching a TH-camr,s channel out called ,,,Shift life,,, the guy is almost 50 and he is building a EG hatch all by his self and I heard he does all this work with 40% loss of movement with one arm if that's not true love for Hondas I don't know what is , god bless our older generation they can show us a thing or two
I'm thinking of buying an first gen insight that's been sitting, thinking of doing a turbo, lithium battery, and it probably needs shift bushings at least
That's going to be me in 30 years with my R. Thanks for sharing this John, much respect for the elderly owner no doubt. So what plugs did you replace the old ones with? My plug of choice was a V-Power BKR7E-11's. One stage cooler than OEM heat range seem to work best for me with common bolt on pieces.
It was the igniter. A New distributor was 1/3 the price of the igniter alone, and came all new parts and a warranty. Didn’t show it on video as it’s boring for most folks.
You should buy the ITR from him and make it your next flip car! Way better than him selling it to some dealer or someone else! Also, what’s the story on the white s2k?
Wish I could afford to send my original everything 01 GsR to you have y'all check it out. I'm the second owner an got it in 07 from a lady who worked at Acura. Back then I decided to leave it alone an not modify it during the times everyone was doing anything they could to Hondas. People stop me daily an praise the pristine condition of her inside and out. Would love for y'all to see it an give her a little love.
@LHT Performance exactly how I've gone her whole life! OEM for common things but slight upgrades here an there as needed just for better longevity or performance. For Christmas I added a TypeR header as the stock manifold cracked, then found an original al sealed CT Icebox to go with it!
@@njalsten6766 the short block has 10k miles and is a genuine OEM with new related parts installed at the same time. In fact, if he decides to sell it, we’ll prove it.
Update on this car. We brought this car back and did a major clean up. Check it out

Love seeing a Type R getting driven a lot because that’s what they were made to do!
i drive mine daily, it has 300K on it, still it will handle untill 500K pretty sure :D
This truly shows that age doesn't define the passion one have for this 4 wheel piece of machine we called automobile.
Respect to that older Gentleman!! Loving his Type R and living his best life!!
As mentioned in the video, if the owner decides to sell the Integra we’ll be happy help assist. In the meantime, it’s great to see him continue to enjoy the car.
If ever I would be interested

Once a car guy, always a car guy.

Yes. I’d be happy to him sell. I wouldn’t want anyone to be taken advantage of.
John, glad you were able to help him! My Dad (RIP) drove his Mercedes 450 SL until he was 93 ;)
That’s awesome buddy. My Dads 86 and drives still. Hope he can make it over here soon.
Cool to see, I think I've seen it a few times driving around the area. Always glad to see them still around just being driven

So cool of you to take the time out to sit and talk with the owner

I want to be that older gentleman, should I be blessed to make it to 86 years old, still driving cool cars.
Love to see this R get a good driving life as they should!
I know that car seen it parked outside for many years. that's a sharp old man dont be fooled!
Bless you guys always for helping him out 🙏
Broo I want to be just like him if I get old. I have a 94 Dc2 gsr. We got shot at a few months ago. Almost died. In the Acura tho 😊❤️
Great grandpa with a type r,👍💪
Love it. Hopefully I’m still driving my AP1 when I’m his age!
Esther win with Goals👌🏼
Please maybe call him back and give it some TLC love
If I had disposable income I’d pay to have that man’s car completely restored. I’m sure he’d like to experience the sunset years in it like it was when it was new.
I totally agree. Super cool guy.

There’s truth to some of the stories. 👍🏻
I hope I make to the 80’s so I can be just like him. I already made the vow 90’s Hondas for life.
OMG….this is a great vid. Life goals for sure. Thanks for dropping knowledge on the cars worth too, would hate to see him get scammed.
The amount of joy I get out of thinking about how that car has treated him is the reason I keep buying hondas
I think that's all of our goals tbh, to be 80 years old and driving a jdm car.
Ah man we should gift this man a new timing cover or restore his back to a nice freshly crisp timing valve cover!!!!
Watch the latest video
Amazing I wonder he thought when he bought if it would ever be worth that much or maintain so much value

I can only imagine what would happen if this guy decides to do what it takes to get an R-34 GT-R.
That's going to be me in 30 years with my R. Thanks for sharing this John, much respect for the elderly owner no doubt.

Yep. 7s.
Wow.... shout out from Carlsbad New Mexico.
What a legend. Keep enjoying!
Very inspiring I hope I still have a fun car at his age 👍😁
thats so awesome, i hope I can be like him when im at that age, still rockin the s2k lol
Ah, a unicorn. Better keep your eyes on that!
Great story on a great car
Ester "G o a l s. . ." 😂👍
Wow that car needs a complete detail
That's so awesome!
I do miss my jdm gsr with type r trans 😁
God bless him and his wife
I saw them in their car last year
That's so awesome. Hopefully, that'll be me one day.
That was awesome thanks for sharing
YOU GOT TO HELP MAINTAIN THIS BABY FOR HIM! SET UP A GO FUNDME SO YOU CAN RESTORE THIS BABY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!
It would be great to a clean up this car.
that lady had some HIPS lmao
Did you determine if it wasn't the igniter first? What was the reason for going straight to replacing the distributor?
It was the igniter. A New distributor was 1/3 the price of the igniter alone, and came all new parts and a warranty. Didn’t show it on video as it’s boring for most folks.
@@LHTPerformance oh wow. Is it a different igniter for the type r versus say a gsr? I'm guessing you only use certified oem Honda parts.
25k cleaned up?! There is no way, but define cleaned up? Restored? Lol
This is so so cool!
Truly amazing 🙏
Love this!!
Beautiful!! I love it
How many times a day does he get "Sir would you like to sell your car" lol
Probably about the same amount my parents do, when they drive their 82 Toyota Starlet (KP61).
Life goals 👌🏼
I'm sure there are vultures waiting to get their hands on that type r when the time comes.
Of course.
I would love to buy this
Awesome! I'll take his info and buy it later. LOL
Is the white s2000 for sale? Could you give me some details?
Yes. I’ve decided to sell it. Pm me on IG.
Great work
You should buy the ITR from him and make it your next flip car! Way better than him selling it to some dealer or someone else! Also, what’s the story on the white s2k?
If he contacts us I would. Right now I’m happy he’s driving and enjoying it.
I seen this old lady driving a mk3 supra every when I go drop of my kid to school
This is sooooooo amazing 🤩

OEM plus when done tastefully can be nice. Of course I like to make things 100% reversible.
@LHT Performance exactly how I've gone her whole life! OEM for common things but slight upgrades here an there as needed just for better longevity or performance. For Christmas I added a TypeR header as the stock manifold cracked, then found an original al sealed CT Icebox to go with it!
I guess is better than him driving a Cadillac he can't see over the dashboard with
Nice and cool
25k in those conditions is pretty high price honestly
I disagree. With some detailing and TLC it would sell in 24 hours.
200k miles.... it will sell, no doubt on that but 25k is really high in my opinion
@@njalsten6766 the short block has 10k miles and is a genuine OEM with new related parts installed at the same time. In fact, if he decides to sell it, we’ll prove it.
It will be nice an follow up on that
A mint type r just sold for 100k
That Type r wouldn’t last a day in NY with that
Old man
Driving
5:30 damn that girl s fine....
I will give him 20k cleaned up
Dam..
when i ever get to 86.....everything will be EV....i know it!!
I'd offer 20k cash then drive it 1200 miles back home. 👍💯🙏
I’d rather see him Continue to enjoy and drive it.
I need to find that owner and buy it for dirt cheap
That car with a k20a2 now were talking :)
nice wife!
Can you ask Bill what made him buy the typeR in the first place.
