I’ve the same small ham you have in the video. I probably use it about half the time I could be. I find it kind of cumbersome to use and feel like I get a better result without it. I’m inspired to try using it more.
I made one out of cedar chips and cotton gingham. It's about the size of an American football. I love using it to press knit necklines that I've finished with a narrow band. Makes those suckers lie beautifully flat.
I am an inveterate thrift store shopper and if you shop long enough and often enough you can find hams and clappers in the fabric and sewing departments of thrift stores. Many times when I reach the checkout counter, the clerk will look at those items in puzzlement and say, "What are these things for?" If you buy these items at a thrift store, they are much, much cheaper than if you buy them new.✨
I love my ham! I have a modern ham, but I love that old ham! I use mine all the time.
Was looking forward to the ham video. After watching, I definitely need to get another, larger ham. Thank you.

I've had 2 hams and used them for making hats, but never knew how to use them otherwise. So simple, so great!
What a very HAMDY tool lol. Thanks Anastasia, loving this series on ironing, I'm learning a lot!
@@artillerybuff2000 woohoo 🥳 Thanks for watching :)
Love your videos! I need to get some hams!!!
@@chrisfranks5243 yeah you do! They are great :)
I use mine all the time. Love it for bust darts.
Happy to hear you are using it. They are really great. I have them at all the ironing stations.
I made a ham with a thick cotton and buckwheat hulls. I have used it so many times and it has been invaluable making clothes for my family.
@@singingtick I love that you made one!
