Chung has been their conductor for many years, without complaint from anyone that matters. The whole video is well performed, and a pleasure to hear with very good speakers. Shlomo, I'm an amateur musician (Very amateur!) but I don't think I've ever heard the volume dynamics emphasized any better with this piece. I can only imagine what a rehearsal is like.
This score is so gorgeous that almost nothing can ruin it. This is a good orchestra and I especially enjoyed the (mezzo) soprano solos and solo players from the woodwind section - especially the oboe player. The orchestra sometimes gets a little bit sloppy - perhaps because the conductor is not always dynamic and fully engaged? I found the brass at 1:17 sounded a little like Stravinsky (a slip in one of the trombones?). :-) Bravo!!!! Viva La France.
