Slavery existed in Europe, South America, Africa and the West Indies. Racism exists in all the places I mentioned. My question is, why is there such a huge problem in America more so than any other place when it comes to race mixing? Personally, I could care less about who someone decides to date, love or marry. It has nothing to do with me and does not infringe on any of my rights. I'm a black woman who has white ancestry on my mother's paternal and maternal side. There's also some Indo-Caribbean ancestry in the family. If my white relatives did not intermarry with black people I would not exist, nor would the woman who gave birth to me. If God does not have any problems with people intermarrying, why should we? I wish someone would try telling me who I should or shouldn't date. Depending on what mood I'm in, my Caribbean (Jamaica) or American (South Carolina) side might answer them. Either way, it won't be nice. There are far too many issues in the world to deal with than attacking people for their race or who they date. Racist people need to sit down in a corner and mind their own damn blasted business. Plenty of them have miserable lives. That's what they should concern themselves with instead of being racist.
Let's keep in mind that too many of these "interracial" videos focus on black and white..... the discussion should involve and include all races......... let's not be pre-occupied with black and white.......... there are many more races in the world than those two........ peace to all.
I am hispanic and my boyfriend is black. His family has no problem that I am of a different race nor does my family. Yeah we get stares when we are out in public, but as long as you are happy with each other then that is all that matters.
im black and my girlfriend is white and we live in a prodom white society and get the looks all the time. I think about what it is that those people see and it makes me smile. I have been the different one my whole life living in a prodom white society and love the fact that my relationship with her is different. I get along most with people that are different, and dont feel the need to judge the ones that are different.
Oh and btw, me and my brother are mixed, we have the same mother and father (black mother/white father), and yet he passes for black more than I do; more people see him as black then they do me. If you saw me and him together, you probably wouldn’t think we were related, let alone brothers. Yet we have the SAME AMOUNT of black ethnicity within us. That’s just how genes work sometimes, and it’s probably the same case for that girl and many other people like her.
I feel that interracial relationships and marriages are any U.S. citizens God given right because I am a white man and my girlfriend is black and we are going real strong because in four months we'll be going on 2 years and we feel our love grow stronger everyday, and with me skin color never matter because we felt an instant connection to each other and my friends feel happy for me that love found me and our love triumphed over all insurmountable odds because love can never be stopped, ever.
Some black women choose to date men with education. There are many black males that are more successful but there is a higher percentage. Black men don't care how ugly a white women is as long as her skin is white shes a dream come true to them. Its not all but a lot.
The mixed girl in the second couple looked more white than black so she would probably be seen as more "acceptable" than a normal brown or dark girl who was not mixed. She looks almost white and if she has kids wiht him they will look 100% white.
I completely support interracial love, color and race should never matter. I don't understand why some people don't accept it? I think people have a right to love anyone from no matter what background they are from.
Im black (african american) and my boyfriend is white (french), though we don't live in the US (in France) when I went home to the US nobody cared in my family, love is good where ever you find it
I agree someone should be proud of their roots and who they are as a person. But just because you date someone of a different ethnicity doesn't mean you're not proud of your roots. Race mixing has been going on since the beginning of man. Do you really think that there is only one ethnicity in your ancestry? That's foolish thinking. Tribes and clans migrated too much for that. For example, Native Americans migrated from Asia. Nothing wrong with having preferences for someone that....
you can type in whatever interracial couple group that you'd like to see. hopefully, youtube'll have them. :) i would also like to see diversity in the representation of ir couples. they're out there but not everyone wants to be on youtube.:P
Lol when on earth did Rihanna become considered a biracial woman? Rihanna and Tyra Banks do not loook or even "act" white. And Vanessa Williams and Halle Berry despite being mixed still embodied the demeanors of sophisticated black women. However this girl Bethany looks the most mixed out of all the celebrities who've mentioned AND acts like an "all american white chick" lol
" I don't think people think about that anymore"-Bethany Thats an interesting statement. Bethany is very light skinned with straight hair. I wonder if she was darker with more obvious sub-Saharan African features, her experiences would have been the same
My step mom is white and my dad is black and they are now engaged ,i don't really pay attention to her color I just know I love her because she's making my dad happy
i was if he would have responded to me with foolishness. i feel sad for him though. people don't realize that hate destroys them;i hope he sees the light one day. thanks for the solidarity.
I am Mexican and Colombian. My boyfriend is black. We were first friends and got closer. And when people knew that would hate on us. Love is love. Love is not color.
I didnt care for this video... It tried to make it seem like interracial couples nolonger have ''issues'' that arise from their being an interracial couple, and that couldn't be farther from the truth. My husband and I have had more than our fair share of obstacles because of our being in a relationship, and being 2 different races.
Good Evening, I want to start off by saying that I really hope that you can get a grip on reality, if not now then somewhere down the road. Many young people today believe in foolish and surreal social constructs like 'love at first sight' and 'love is blind.' The truth is dating someone outside of your race is probably the most hurtful and neglectful thing you can do to your family and racial identity. I hope you learn how to love your race and culture instead of destroying it.
Interracial love rocks! Moses was married to an Ethiopian woman and King Solomon loved Queen of Sheba, also another beautiful black woman and Bathsheba was a sister. My husband is a beautiful delicious sea blue eyed Middle Eastern Jew with a body worth worshiping and the sex skills of on who is a GOD. And I am black and HE is in love with me. I am worth dying for to HIM. I am blessed by GOD to have HIM.
I disagree with the guy in the first interview. My bf and I have never experienced any discrimination or racism. His family and friends are all hispanic and they've accepted me without judgement of my race. I don't know, maybe it's different depending on where you live? We live 10 mins right outside of Manhattan, NY... and maybe that's why. People here are so much more accepting and open minded. I'm lucky to call these people my family. It's a refreshing change from the psychos I got last time.
I'm 14, and biracial black/white I look more black than white. Everyone I know classifies me as black. I am open to all races of different women. I just can't believe there's people in this world who are against biracial couples. Who are you to judge?
Although her parents didn't take issue with her boyfriend and they say that they're not prejudiced, they are still under the influence of a particular kind of racial, ethnic, and political discourse which is peculiar to US society. Quite frankly, I have NEVER heard anybody say that life would be more difficult for intermarried couples in the UK; and if it is indeed true, then it is mostly society's fault for its inability to accept people for who they are.
just because a black person (or any person for that matter) dates outside their race doesn't mean they hate their own race. I am dating a white person but not because I don't like black men, its because this person interest me and loves me too. The color of your partners skin shouldn't matter, if you love them you love them no matter what they are
I would be very angry if my son or daughter told me they were going to marry a person from another race, I want my grand children to look like me. I do not want them to have no identity.
Whay a very nice video. All of the families are so beautiful. It doesn't matter what race you are,as long you love each other from the heart.Love to me is color blind, and i wish more people could look at it that way in our world.
Tell me, what is similar between a Black African and a Black American, other than skin color? Do you speak the same language? No. Do you eat the same food? No. Do you wear the same clothes? No. Do you have the same religion? No. Do you have the same names? No. Now let's compare a Black American and a White American. Do you speak the same language? Yes. Do you eat the same food? Yes. Do you wear the same clothes? Yes. Do you have the same religion? Yes. Do you have the same names? Yes.
Funny thing is most disenfranchised Americans (minorities, women, homosexual, and the youth) would agree with you. Many of us don't support anything our country really stands for. Its fucked up that we're all labeled the same when many of us see things the same way the rest of the world does. Guess that's how it goes.
I know that. But what do other groups of people have to do with anything? Again, if nobody mixed it up, a lot of us would not be here. I respect you and your opinion because you didn't come at me with foolishness. Thank you.
I'm "African-American" and my ex boyfriend was Somali/Egyptian. We got stares from people when we walked down the street. It was so weirdddd. A lot of Somali people gave us dirty looks and some West Africans/African Americans gave us dirty looks too. We didn't really care, but I thought it was interesting and funny, considering they were obviously looking at more than skin color...lol.
I am saying that White Supremacy rules the Laws that has governed and still governs the land and until you are ready to accept that, and deny any of the fruits born of such a government, then you are a party to its crimes by doing nothing. Blacks own one half of one percent of the wealth of this nation, and it has nothing to do with a lack of go get em. If you don't see the difference between that and saying something bad about another race (bigotry), that is not my fault.
Not making any excuse, i'm italian and proud of it.What i'm trying to say is that we are Europeans and Caucasians BUT because of our history we have 'mixed' origins, which is why for example in southern italy you have people with darker skin and dark curly hair (results of centuries of history with Turkish invasions and Arabs domination) as much as red-heads and fair-skinned people (results of the Normans kingdom). That's what i meant with "mixed" but we are still caucasians.
@misscamara12 That's one big reason why its upsetting/disappointing to me to see her represent the bw/wm couples out there cause her story isn't accurate for the majority of all us. Hate to say it but I am kind of fed up of seeing bm/wm represented so heavily in media and in documentaries such as this. Its so bias and leaves a whole completely different ir couplings out there. Its not fair
What I'm saying is that just because you are the same color does NOT mean you belong together. I'm sure I have more in common with an American (any color) than I do with a Black African. Why did you watch this video anyways?
America is a sad place where "interracial couples" are still something "special" and rare... In Europe, there's nothing weird or rare about that ! I don't see anything weird with that, being "mixed race" myself, as well as many of my friends.
We have never identified with race. Race is and always will be a social construct. Actually fairly recent if you think about it. Most people still identify with tribes and cultures. Race is something that was invented. They try and tell you that you're different biologically, but in actuality we are all the same. We only come in different colors. And no, that's not one of the reasons we don't like it. Because people have been mixing way before "race" came a long. It's society telling us that
Not really. Interracial dating puts together to different cultures and creates a wider understanding of the world. Culture can still be taught by bother races, it all depends on the respect of the parents regardless of colour
That's because in America anyone with light skin and/or light eyes get accepted as White whereas in Europe (where I'm from), and when it comes to anthropology, it's not that simple.
I am asian from Taiwan. School education and books tell us that race is socially constructed, but I can't help but wondering why the westerners has much more achievements in social and political institution, science and technology than other people around the world?
people would make a bigger deal with the young couple if one of them was more extreme in color. If she was a dark chocolate color with the same facial features and everything, I am pretty sure they would have more trouble. People are just not used to seeing something that is different than what they are used to...I am African American and dated a "preppy" white guy for 3 years and man, oh, man did we get the looks!
They should put ALOT more INTERRACIAL couples on the media and adverts. Not always the same frikin colour on adverts, films, tv shows. Fuck racism it needs to not exist.
That is not a shock...i knew that already. i still want you to watch the videos. The "you" I am referring to in my last sentence is referring to the girl in the video. My last sentence was my last comment in regards to her.
When I dated a white guy in high school the girls would tell me how cute our kids will be or you are going to have a pretty baby. I looked at them crazy, no we didn't have any kids together, my dad would've killed me if I got pregnant in high school. My parents didn't mind that we were dating I guess it was his parents because I never met them.
Yes, the girl looks like she has more white blood than black. What would be more unusual would be to find a Nordic-skinned man who's dating a woman who looks like Aunt Jemima and speaks ebonics.
People that are racist have either a week negative feeling towards one race or a very strong one. They still don't know exactly why that feeling is there though. When you ask them for a specific reason they come up with unreasonable excuses. Could it be that racism is some type of mental disorder? I don't know exactly why but to me racism and anxiety are both related in a way.
It doesn't matter what color skin she has...period...even if she was really dark. What ppl don't understand is that there isn't a huge difference between eachother. We're all human beings who pretty much want the same things out of life. Btw, you can't "act" a color..That's an ignorant statement.
Why do people insist on putting STUPID MUSIC in documentaries like this? I want to hear what these people have to say and the music in this video is louder than their voice. Jesus H. Christ.
It's a free country ain't it? You're free to love anyone you want. Now tell the G.O.P. to quit struggling for the so called "sacred institution of marriage" and all that shit. Newt Gingrich, who has an abysmal record on how he treated his wives, has no business speaking out against same-gender unions.
Unfortunately after all the crap that goes on in this country especially even against the president. I would have to agree with you on some aspects. There are a lot of good people in the US. But people want to ignore all the bad ones and this continues. Especially concerning the racist right wing that calls the president "food stamp president" and everything else.
@BronzeSista What about the other way around? I am black and my boyfriend is white (a tall red headed marine from Kansas) and my family will not accept our relationship. It has caused many difficulties the strain they had placed on our relationship and shockingly enough it is his family from the midwest who accepts me because they know I make him happy but my family rather see me unhappy with a black man before they would ever accept my IR dating.
I really don't give a shit if the majority of the people on this video don't "consider" her black because of her skin color. Like I said, just more angry colorists. I have a close friend in college who absolutely "looks black", has what most people would consider "black features" and yet according to him, he only has about 10% black ethnicity in him. You can't go by someone's skin tone and facial features alone.
I understand that you don't want interracial relationships to flourish, but do you think by segregating one race from others solves the problem or is it because you had negative experiences in your life resulted from your mixed background and you want to dissuade people from loving each other? Love is more powerful than skin color. It's the stigma that we face in all ethnic groups that enslaves us. Everything depends on the individual NOT what society tells us.
What is "acting white" I mean if I didn't "act white' does it mean I "ack black" is "acting black changable. Can I act yellow or green the next day? I mean, just what the fuck is "acting white'. Would I be able to get an Oscar for my "acting white?" People are individuals NOT colors.
This is another example of the Love of God. God created all different races and colors to test us of our Love for one another. God is LOVE. God so loved the world, he gave his only son Jesus to die for our sins that whosoever believes in him will never die but have everlasting life in Heaven. Jesus is the Truth, the life and the way. The ONLY way to Heaven. If you know the Truth, it will set you free from the bondage of Satan. Satan kills steals and destroys. Satan is a Liar and Deceiver. Satan is filthy and nasty. Satan hates interracial marriages. Jesus defeated Satan at the Cross. Make the right choice. I Did. You have nothing to lose. Jesus is Lord.
Slavery existed in Europe, South America, Africa and the West Indies. Racism exists in all the places I mentioned. The background music is loud compared to the audio of the people speaking, it gets annoying.
Let's keep in mind that too many of these "interracial" videos focus on black and white..... the discussion should involve and include all races......... let's not be pre-occupied with black and white.......... there are many more races in the world than those two........ peace to all.

The background music really interfers with the interviews.
im black and my girlfriend is white and we live in a prodom white society and get the looks all the time. I think about what it is that those people see and it makes me smile. why woud tht last couple have ne problems with race they both look white lol even the way she talks lol js but reguardless shes beautiful ne way

It's in the description. It's called Healing Hands by Citizen Cope.
The music is too loud
Not in the least. You can't get no more Messianic than this CAT! But hey, you are free to believe what you want. But if you knew HIM, YOU'd love HIM.
The mixed girl in the second couple looked more white than black so she would probably be seen as more "acceptable" than a normal brown or dark girl who was not mixed. She looks almost white and if she has kids wiht him they will look 100% white.

no problem with interracial relationships. it's the heart that matters.

How beautiful! I love interracial couples! ^_^
I would recommend investing in a boom mic. I could barely hear a lot of the people in this video.

people would make a bigger deal with the young couple if one of them was more extreme in color. If she was a dark chocolate color with the same facial features and everything, I am pretty sure they would have more trouble. People are just not used to seeing something that is different than what they are used to...I am African American and dated a "preppy" white guy for 3 years and man, oh, man did we get the looks!
At the end of the day its ALL about chemistry..not about ethnicity
damn shes a beauty
They should put ALOT more INTERRACIAL couples on the media and adverts. Not always the same frikin colour on adverts, films, tv shows. Fuck racism it needs to not exist.
Yes, thanks for the correction, i just noticed i put that
That is not a shock...i knew that already. i still want you to watch the videos. The "you" I am referring to in my last sentence is referring to the girl in the video. My last sentence was my last comment in regards to her.
@cmackaa clarify that then, i'm not sure i understand the point of your comment then?
Newt Gingrich, who has an abysmal record on how he treated his wives, has no business speaking out against same-gender unions.
there are more important things in a relationship than skin color
@Mageeelovesfrank
Because she isn't black. She's clearly bi-racial. But she's absolutely beautiful
beautiful
Whew she is gorgeous
Unfortunately after all the crap that goes on in this country especially even against the president. I would have to agree with you on some aspects. There are a lot of good people in the US. But people want to ignore all the bad ones and this continues. Especially concerning the racist right wing that calls the president "food stamp president" and everything else.
hey! can you pls tell me whats the name of the first song? its so beautiful!! thanks!
Obviously, this gentleman has a great job.
No, racism is not power, racism is a stance.
Yeah interracial love and I am white man! I have a black girlfriend who loves me! Mixed skin and interracial love are the best!!!
The music is louder than the couples speaking. Very hard to hear and distracting. Why do you need music?
Soccer moms who engage in driving sports cars reject SUV's and lead a very unstable life....T_T
Would I be able to get an Oscar for my "acting white?"
People are individuals NOT colors.
Saw the Towson tiger logo! had to watch it!
Love has no color.Remember that people.
Bethany & Marcus are like the cutest couple ever
