Xbox will never understand what made the Bungie stories so good. It becomes more scifi and fantasy with each release, forgetting it was the militarism that kept things grounded. Soldiers navigating the environment is what made the worlds alien and immersive. That includes a lot of the music as well.
I haven't seen this take much and totally agree I've raised it myself on reddit and been told to gfm and every other thing but the name Combat Evolved says it all a military unit that is trained for traditional combat has to figure out how to fight an impossibly stronger alien enemy and that necessitates the development of Spartan in the first place even Halo 3 and reach leaned away from this military aspect in ways
The humans and covenant had been at war for 20 something years by the time CE is set. I've never got a military unit vibe from Halo. It's always been anytime the "Marines" are involved I'm babysitting ants trying to keep them from getting rolled. I'm fine with those story mission bits but it's always been a hero shooter to me. For me infinites only campaign downfall was the open world and lack of stellar traversal. I want ship based combat and story bits that cinematically tell im part of a larger war going on. That's all it's missing for me. The feeling of playing a movie with a great script. And yes that movie is scifi. It's halo 🤣

Man, I'm so glad that Halo Studios video used the score from 'Halo 5'. Regardless of how people feel about that game, the score by Kazuma Jinnouchi is AMAZING

I’m a parent too Destin. Kids and sleep is hard af. My 1 year old daughter pretty much sleeps thru the night, but she refuses to nap during the day. So mid to late afternoon she is PISSED because she hasnt napped enough. Granted i feel its a lesser evil that she dosent nap but sleeps well overall at night, but kids are hard. Good luck sir!

And I think anyone who has ever unironically said "Toxic Masculinity" shouldn't be making a game that was BUILT on masculinity, not Toxic Masculinity, but just Masculinity!
Also I don't think anyone who is anti Gun and has that on the forefront of their mind when designing a game about badass soldiers. And people who are anti police, or have a bad feeling about badass soliders using guns and in a story about soldiers, honor, duty, and Saving the world! And that would include Gears of WAR. I feel the same way about Gears 4 and 5. They were alright, but they lost a lot of the machismo, camaraderie, in favor of thinking of the imaginary "modern audience".

Hope black Mith for Xbox, really had a blast on PS5 and this game deserves to be played by more gamers.

Will honestly probably give my Xbox to my younger brother and just stick with ps5 pro and switch. With Xbox seemingly putting everything on PlayStation, “game pass” isn’t enough of a selling point for me. Especially since I don’t even know how much longer Xbox will stay in the dedicated hardware business

@@matthewblack1993 In 5 years the console market will still be as big as ever. Everything Xbox has done recently would tell you that they are more likely to focus on being a multiplat publisher then a hardware manufacturer.

I disagree. Respectfully, Halo 5. Multiplayer was awesome. The extra boost you can get to dodge was so cool and it just felt really fast and good to play.

Correct, infinite was not a bad game by any means, it was just, forgettable, bland, a solid 7.

The Xbox series Generation is absolutely better than the ps5 gen. I should know, I do own both consoles. And the PS5 is the most BORING console Ive ever owned. Almost everything about it is pointless. From the portal to the less than a handful amount of first party games none of which are added to PS5 premium...to the FAR OVERPRICED PS5 pro which isn't even better than a series x...yes the PS5 is a massive failure all except for consoles shipped. That one stat Sony leads in just happens to be the least money making aspect in gaming for the company. Xbox leads in everything else.

@megilacuttyjones735 stop being a fanboy, only good things xbox have made this gen are FH5 (cross gen), hifirush, and hellblade 2 IMO (starfield, forza motorsport, infinite, were ok) and everything else has been pretty much a disappointment.
I traded my series x for a ps5 and I have 0 regrets

Unless the things that are out are not true, 343 has done MANY things to distance themselves from Bungie by saying "No Bungie employees" when they tried to get grt a job there, trying to replace Chief in one of the games but people completely rejected it, and treating people from Bungie employees they did deal with poorly. They either have an ego and think they can do it better, which they absolutely proved they can not. Or they don't want to be compared to them, but that's impossible.
To release half baked Infinite, which I did like but it was far from great. And before that two completely Mid Halo games before that, and then to NAME yourselves Halo studios is so unbelievable. You need to earn that name, and they didn't.
Also UE5 is very heavy on console and the games put out so far have been a mixed bag when it comes to image quality on console!
The changes they need? They are making the same mistakes and refusing to change the problem.

The issue with halo infinite was that the MP and campaign released separately and that the fact the MP released early on top of the lack of content for MP because the lack of content with the MP being the only thing out for a few months made the game seem less than it was because the complete package was great
Unreal Engine 5 is a easy Band-Aid, but not what Halo needs. It needs a creative lead with a vision. Using UE5 just makes photorealistic visuals and loses the artistic direction. I do like that they are making it multiplatform, but UE 5 isn't required for that. It just makes it *easier*. They are trying to take the easy way out. Now, if they showed off an artistically creative UE5 concept, I'd be hopeful. But the way it looks now is unfortunately soulless. Right now they are checking boxes with Halo development.
Heavy emphasis on “might be.” Xbox lost the benefit of the doubt *years* ago.

@frankkent5567 nah. They haven't done anything diffrent to negatively impact the industry than Sony. Most people who think like this have no real reason without sounding hypocritical in favoring another company doing the same thing.
Destin, you are a big ole' softy and there is nothing wrong with that. There are so many different ways to train a child. Regarding sleep, I haven't encountered any problems with my son. He is six now, but he's always been an excellent sleeper.
Both our kids had a rough time with sleep training. I'm envious of parents who had no issues. It's super hard on us.

Has it occurred that your issue isn't an issue of sleep training? Crying is a sign of discomfort or alerting, caring adults of unmet needs or wants. I am not sure you are familiar with the attachment cycle or not. If you need some information let me know. Look at what you are experiencing thru that lens and it will change how you parent and the path of your child's development.
If the partner preview is announced for Wednesday like the last two have been I bet Expedition 33 will be in it since that’s the day they’ve teased their new trailer

Black Myth was such a middle of the road game. Like, it's fine but this hype for it was way over blow.
Smart TV's will be the hardware - just need a XBOX firestick. Game Pass will have a tile to subscribe to - just like Netflix.

Halo infinites campaign was fine. It was fun. For me it missed the key cinematic tone that some of the great halos hit. That feeling that all of HUMANITY is at war with a common enemy and you as a lone soldier are swaying that fight through incredible deeds. And i dont think the entire story being told from one place lends itself well to conveying that tone. In previous campaigns the missions jumping from ship to planet to halo rings conveys a scale of a galaxy at war, that chief is charged with winning.
100% if they're remaking all these games they're going on everything
Halo infinite was flawed at launch. It had performance issues in the campaign and never received co-op. The multiplayer was a real mess, it was buggy, missing a lot of content, and the battle pass seasons needed reworking. The campaign being better than 4 and 5 doesn’t mean it lives up halo quality standards.
So they are moving halo to the engine where every game stutters and runs at 720p

In open world settings, yes. Texture and occlusion streaming. Depends whether they go back to open zones, rather than the open world map that Infinite had.
Don't think it's pop-in, what you're seeing looks more like a LOD change?
GOTY for me is probably Space Marine II right now but Metaphor has a shot at overtaking it. There are a ton of games in the running for 3rd place right now but if Towerborn or No Rest For The Wicked were released this year one of those might have taken 3rd.
Halo Infinite's multiplayer was good but bare bones when I played it however the Campaign was below average by the numbers storytelling for me.(Nothing special there, soulless actually feels right.)
Unreal 5 has some weird stuttering during traversal that needs to be worked on if a Halo remake is to be a great remake.
I am really skeptical of 343/Halo Studios until they actually deliver a great Halo narrative in a game.
Can we get Sony to stop making emotional storytelling games? It’s really ruined the PlayStation brand for me, I miss their games being action focused with exciting stories. Ghost of Tsushima had this problem and I’m pretty confident the sequel is going to dial it up a notch.

Halo just has not been the same since Halo 3. That was the true end to the story. Since then, stories were very weak. Honestly, I was bored playing them. I never even finished 5 because i just did not care about the story. Infinite was impressive in the gameplay department mostly due to the addition of the grapple. I completely understand the comment that the game was soulless because 4 and 5 gave me the same feeling.
I hope that this is a true ground up remake and not a glorified reskin. I think they can clean up the story too. It was obvious that Cortana's back story that was revealed in Reach was not the plan in original Halo. I don't think Cortana needed such a deep back story. Just keep her and the Chief together. Also, I never understood why Guilty Spark had you following through all of the corridors and had to leave you alone while he opened doors. I understand it from the perspective of this is a videogame, but he had the ability to teleport Master Chief in other parts of the game. Take out the teleporting and add levels to show that travel to the other levels.
It is funny. I can suspend disbelief to enjoy a story of aliens and technology that does not exist. But inconsistencies like the teleporting actually pull me out of it. You have to be true to the world you create.
Destin, the outrage isn’t about the fact that there are women in the games (ghosts of Tsushima and yotei). The issue is with the particular woman (Voice actress). Gamers are tired of the injection of woke. And yes, I know you hate that word, but for some reason that connection is not being made between the viewers and you.

Halo Infinite's campaign story was meh. I will always rate it low because they wrapped up the war against Cortana and the rogue A.I.s they set up in Halo 5 behind the scenes in the name of Infinite being a soft reboot. It is a sign of bad writing. The core gameplay was good and fun. But the open world was mostly lifeless and unnecessary. And the campaign felt unfinished.
I've noticed pop-ins in most PS5 games, so it's nothing new.

One problem with the Halo series is the Halo rings. Halo trilogy told a story. And in that story, the Halo rings were rare. It was like the covenant was searching for them but had not found them yet. We got there by accident. Then it seemed like rings were everywhere. Should have left that alone.... at least for a long time. There is so much to explore. So, many stories to be told from before we found the first ring. There was a war with the covenant that had been raging for some time. Think of all the stories that could be told. We don't need the rings to be the setting in all of these. I think Reach proved this.
If they put halo on other consoles, forget it. Its over. No one will buy the new xbox.
They should do less talking and more doing. I bet most of the talking they are doing has been talked before, over and over and over again.
