  • Did you know that buying real estate in Cyprus allows you to get a Golden Visa or a permanent residence permit in the European Union for your whole family, including your parents? I travelled to Cyprus to ask my colleague Anastasia Yianni, the managing partner of Cyprus Sotheby’s International Realty, about the process of getting residency, the tax benefits, the choice of property and the advantages of living on the island.

    Cyprus certainly is a unique place to live. And they don't want the middle class or poor, not good but it's the wealthy they are after. Anyone who could invest in the island be it real estate or money in the bank will do. I heard about 300,000 euro or more will do? Not sure though. And Cyprus will welcome the person and their family. A place with practically no homeless, little, as in Very little crime,. and prices for food, cloths, basic entertainment(eating out, going for a drink...) are comparable to the USA where I currently live, in fact food is more expensive here in USA than it was in Cyprus.. Many of the new homes and villas are quite nice. Even the older house in villages have a beauty of their own. And of course some of the best weather to be found. The inhabitants are not poor and sometimes wealthier than the tourists/visitors. I do recommend for anyone who can afford it, to grab some property. A house, flat, even land without anything on it. I invested some time ago and prices now are much more than when I purchased my property. Prices still going up so...

    Stupid question here, but I like the permanent resident low physical presence requirement of only 1 day every 2 years. After 5 years can you use it to apply for citizenship with that 1 days every 2 years requirement? For 300k it’s worth waiting 5 years

    Could myself and my partner mover to cyprus from UK? Would buying a house over £300,000 qualify for residency ? Or would we have to have money coming into our bank accounts every month and be either working employed in cyprus or be digital nomads?

    • @sanderrecommends
      @sanderrecommends  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you can. Cyprus is one of the top destinations for Brits. The minimum requirement for permanent residency is an investment in property of at least 300,000 euros plus VAT. You would also need to declare a minimum income. A Working permit or Digital Nomad Visa has different requirements. Please feel free to message me your contact details so I can ask my colleagues from Cyprus to provide you with detailed information.

    Could me and my partner live in Cyprus form the income generated from renting out our house in Uk. Would this count as income as a wage for both of us. I beleive the wage required for a simgle person to live under Cyprus income is 3000 a month, is this correct? Looking to move to Cyprus asap so would appreciate and adace and help.

    All you need is a few million $$ in the bank and a clean police record. Can't manage that, then forget it.

    • @sanderrecommends
      @sanderrecommends  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ian, yes, clear police record is the must. But there are plenty of affordable options in Cyprus as well, including free movement for EU citizens, for retired people, for digital nomads, for highly qualified professionals.
