As a Cypriot this is one of the reasons that made our everyday life more difficult to leave. An average new couple can't find a house to built or an apartment to rent because of the insane hight prizes, especially in Limassol!!! As a country(island) gives us money and for the right price we will sell you our souls too!! This is a very nice video for the few Cypriot( Russians, Israelis and Ukrainian) that can afford to stay here and they "sweat" a lot to make their millions and " waited a long time" to get their residence permit!!
Because of these people, property prices in Cyprus are artificially inflated and not just in Limassol, all over Cyprus. For example what does Strovolos has to offer? 350,000 just the land in St Vassilios area? And not only that, these tech companies want permit for hiring staff from 3rd countries. KEBE claims that they can't find Cypriots!
As a cypriot i agree too! Those big tech companies , Forex industry and whatever approaches milionaires make our life a little more difficult! Especially the housing problem! Its very difficult to afford a small appartment in Limassol. A young couple cannot find an appartment to live and if they find the monthly price is insane! First of all the problem is not the foreigners! The governent didnt realise how difficult is the problem right now especially in Limassol!
A potential solution would be to shake hands with Turks, Famagusta would be re-opened, the UN-zones would be accessible for development, Turkish part could be connected by high-speed rail-links and the island and the choice of residential areas for all budgets would become much bigger.
@@gpapadopoulos If you look at places which are mainly in demand by Cypriots and not for foreigners, it is not foreign peoples fault that Cypriots can't build their own home. It is mainly your very own financially better of peoples attitude of buying residential land and keeping it forever without doing anything meaningful to it. Like building a home or selling it, if it has no current use. And your government supporting this by very low taxes for empty land or land that has rotten buildings on it and not requiring people to either utilize this land by themselves or selling. Almost no foreigner is interested to come to Strovolos, it is not an Expat place. That place is owned by Cypriots. Even most of Limassol building land is owned by Cypriots. Look at all the empty plots and rottening buildings even in districts like Limassol. Don't blame us foreigners for the politics and rules of people that are voted into office by Cypriots. As a foreigner it is also totally unundeerstandable that you need to pay hundred thousands for a plot when everything around is empty and no one utilizes their land. But your government will either waste Taxpayers money in subsidies driving prices up even more, than choosing the obvious solution of charging adequate taxes on empty land that forces wealthy Cypriot and Non-Cypriot people over time to do something with it or sell it.

Thank you! Unfortunately there are no Ritz-Carlton Residences in the region yet, but we can always find you a nice flat in Fontvieille with a storage for the bicycle )
That's exactly the point. That in Cyprus you can buy for 10,000 Euros something that in Switzerland you can't even find or afford, also because of taxes. Have you seen even one Ritz-Calrton Residence in Switzerland? They don't exist there. And Cyprus offers one of the best tax schemes in Europe today.
I've been involved in the markets for quite a long time and to me it looks like we've reached the top of the flagpole when it comes to speculation on real estate. All of the prices that are now being called out include 5-lane highways that Cyprus doesn't have, 100,000 well-paid new jobs that Cyprus doesn't have, the expansion of chemical and pharmaceutical companies that Cyprus doesn't have, doctors-teachers-rocket scientists who are unearthing new inventions bring... which Cyprus does not have, countless orders abroad which boost the gross national product.... which Cyprus does not have, clean drinking water that can be safely drunk from the tap like in Germany.... which Cyprus does not have, Building standards that are in no way inferior to those of Western Europe.... which Cyprus does not have. The prices are so exorbitant that it's ridiculous to even mention them
Who knows what the future brings. If you don't believe in Cyprus, there is no need to invest or buy property. The protagonist of the video has already made his choice.
That shows that you have no clue… the five lane highway is not needed since the amount of cars does not require… pharmaceutical companies in Limassol are amongst the largest in the area and they export more that 97% of production. Water is safe to drink from tap and the building regulations in Cyprus are among the strictest and safest because of the earthquake region Cyprus is located….
