    Ao Nang is a beautiful and relaxing place. It has plenty of restaurants, shopping and nightlife, great hotels and resorts, and it's a great place to base yourself to explore the Krabi islands and the rest of Krabi Thailand. There are plenty of nightclubs and bars and some of the best Krabi nightlife is in Ao Nang. You’ll find a huge range of delicious Thai food and Thai cuisine in any Thai restaurant there, and there’s loads of awesome Thai street food outside on the streets. There's also restaurants and cuisine from all around the world, everything from Swedish to Chinese food. Ao Nang is also home to some awesome markets with cheap shopping and there are loads of tours you can do from there: kayaking, island hopping, rock climbing, temples, national parks, waterfalls … Ao Nang has it all! Ao Nang is about 15 minutes from Railay Beach, 50 minutes from Koh Phi Phi Island, 20 minutes from Krabi Town and 2.5 hours from Phuket Thailand by road or sea.

    G'day Darren, I've travelled to many different places around Thailand but Aonang has to be my favorite. It is beautiful, tranquil and the beaches are stunning. The best place in Thailand to recharge your batteries. I also have to mention that locals including yourself, Aorn and Ananda are pretty good people. 😉👍

    Hello Darren. Nice video as always. I have subscribed your channel for about 2 years and I still looking very much forward to your next videos. One thing I miss when you post videos from Aonang is that I have seen a glimse of Krabi thai village resort. I had the pleasure to visit it twice, first time back in the year 2000 and second in 2018. So please just a small glimse and you will make me very happy.

      Hello Darren again. I forgot to mention that just across the street of thai village resort there is a steak house you may wanna check out. I think its a dutch owner and it is a little pricey compared to other restaurants in the area. But it is so good and with some very good burger menus. So if want you can check it out in your next video ☺

    Your very attractive 'ladies' around the the 1.40 mark looked like some of the local 'lady-boys' at a quick glance or were they dressed like that to advertise something. I'm only going by videos I have seen of other parts of Thailand and in those ones they were pointed out as to what they were, after all your 'neck of the woods' is rather renowned for them. Enjoyed the video, especially your lovely sunsets you have.

      Places to eat at in Ao Nang - there are lots of very good restaurants, probably my favourite is the Jungle Kitchen (Google Maps: goo.gl/maps/28xcAbqxYMDSGK3W8)
      Other must eat restaurants in the area are in Klong Son- Khun Noi Restaurant (Google Maps: goo.gl/maps/sNs1XQ8ShiC2)and Ruan Thip (Google Maps: goo.gl/maps/BtFbSyiVWgy)
      And in Krabi Town, seafood at Poo Dam Restaurant (Google Maps: goo.gl/maps/fzvdkBdkyfCkZGEr7)
      Must sees -
      Visit the Wednesday Market in Ao Nang for a local experience (Google Maps: goo.gl/maps/nX8q5m6VFERWmRvKA) and the Walking Street Weekend Market in Krabi Town (Google Maps: goo.gl/maps/J72XSZQbWt4FoHNq6)
      Do a kayaking trip with Karst-Aways facebook.com/KARST-AWAYS-1708010316085919/
      Also, do a Hong Island Tour, climb the Tiger Cave Temple, and be sure to visit Railay.
      I hope that helps.

    • @darrenb3
      @darrenb3  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. Yes, that's possible, there are boats running at all hours, but you'd need to get a private one. It will probably cost you around 600 to 800 baht each way at night. Just talk to one of the boat drivers on Railay and they can arrange it.

    I have a question: when you walk straight ahead to Noppharat beach, in a curve were on the right side a Esan food restaurant and right on the opposite were a famous street food spot with few stalls, open also days over.
    I saw on Google street view, in the place where the restaurant was, is a new building now and on the opposite is a new pedestrian way.
    Do you maybe know if they move to other place or it didn't exist anymore? 🤔

    • @darrenb3
      @darrenb3  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that area is now shops and restaurants and the vendors are all over the place. Some of the vendors are at the Landmark Night Market, some are outside the Holiday Inn Express hotel and others are in different locations around Ao Nang, but I'm not exactly sure where.

      The cheapest transport from Phuket to Krabi is the local bus from Phuket Town bus station to Krabi bus station. It will take around 3.5 hours 1 way and cost around 200 baht. You can then get a local bus from Krabi bus station to Ao Nang for about 60 baht and it takes around 1 hour.

    Just got back from Ao Nang. I can agree it is very beautiful although we avoided the beachfront restaurants because the food was substandard, service poor and very overpriced. We stuck to the restaurants around the mosque and Ao Nang Muslim Street. Much better Thai food and reasonable prices. No Indian touts in that area.

      There are some decent restaurants along the beach road, but they pay a premium price for rent so in general they are more expensive than restaurants further from the beach.
