@@Jakelol1980 It's very difficult to estimate range. In the open, on top of a hill, you could get 50 miles but in a built up area the range drops to hundreds of meters. In your case it would depend on how dense the woodland is and the surrounding landscape.
@@delboyonline its pretty dense pine forest but mostly without any hills in between . So mostly forest and each tree is maybe 5m between each other and are about 15-20m tall. A very old forest.
First got a pair of pmrs in about 2002 from Maplin, I was pretty staggered at their range. I wish we'd had these in the 80s and 90s, a lot easier than CB 😎👍
hello, i have a europe version limited to 500mw and i would like to know if there is a possibility with a key combination or software to switch it to a 1watt export version, thanks
It is a shame, the lamp is a major flaw. Floureon earlier this year updated the firmware on these handhelds to disable the high power mode (I've since found out) and it would be nice if they could release a downloadable fw upgrade to disable the lamp from coming on but we can but hope! Still a cracking set of radios though for the money. Thanks.
I've got 8 of these little radios (all with the hi power option). They work really well. Excellent value for the money.
What would you guess the range with these would be in a remote pine forest on 0.5W and 1W? Im in Sweden.

Another great review Mike
Thanks big Mike :)
Great vid.
Mine cost £8.50 for the pair off eBay. They have the high power mode too
Hi Mike
Once the lockdown is over, i look forward to doing a Monday night on air test with those radios.

I'll take them up the hill and give them a go, hopefully get some good reports :)
I disconnected my lamp.and I put a small hole into top of belt clip so I can attach a carrying strap.

Thanks for the video.. that was really helpful.. cheers mucker
These radios have only got a small coil antenna in the tubing I cut the tubing down and it is now just over an inch and I recapped the top of tubing.
Messing with the length of the antenna will change the SWR of the set. Potentially damaging it.

From what I've since learned, Floureon actually locked it out entirely. I'm not entirely sure it can be unlocked to allow for more power.
@@OntheMicwithMike The option is not there in the menu anymore, even though it shows it in the manual.
Good video shame about the lamp on them but I I might still be in the market for a pair of these

I've got some of these, same colour. I paid £8.52 for a pair but they accidentally sent four! SHHH! Great piece of kit though.
How jammy was that haha. Brilliant :)
