About 1960 my future BIL and I would go 9 miles to another town where the local hotrodders had an old store, so old I never knew the original purpose. It was cold and dirty and disarrayed but full of guys building old 30's and 40's coupes and using big Olds, Ford and sometimes foreign power(somebody wiped out their Jag in the hinterlands and didn't care to retrieve it). It was a great group of guys just building whatever they had in mind and the parts they could get cheap. There was no rod with original anything but some of the body. It was fun though since I already had the bug. Several years later I'd have the "car to beat" for several counties around. People would just show up and want to race I had never met or seen before. it was a little poke I left the "275 HP" decal on the air cleaner lid that got to some of them. Hey, you didn't have to be Einstein to hear 12:1 compression and Arkus Duntov at work under the hood.
Good attitude. I have done up more modern cars but I've always wanted to do a '34 Ford. This is quite inspiring, like you say though it's all going to come down to money in the end.

cool all that shot in silverlake riverside and fletcher think i knew this guy maybe not we street raced there joined car club without car myself lol ! he knows what he wants and gets it ....
Echo gets it. I won't build a car like it was done in 1960, I could "if" I wanted but I don't. I built a badass rat from a 93 Toyota t100 yes with 3.0 L 5spd. 30s model A front axle. But its the only one to exist like it! Its more satisfying to be cooler than the purists who laugh. Bahaha! Marty Sanders Sterling il.
Martin Sanders I don’t know what you think rods were in 1960 but they were not ‘rats’!! A hot rod like these would be laughed off the streets!!! I was there and I can tell you this rat rod thing did not exist!!! If you drove a car down the street in 1960 that looked like this you would be stopped by the first cop that saw you and towed!!! It was hard enough to get by with a finished rod let alone one of these junk boxes!!! Car bodies in this shape are rescued by rodders everyday and rebuilt! I get pissed because these ‘rats all have the potential of being beautiful finished road worthy vehicles. No that doesn’t mean super expensive either. Guys have been building budget hot rods for decades that actually represent the hot rod tradition with honor! Build what you want but these kids watching this video are being fooled into believing that these rusty shits are real hot rods. You think this guy is so laid back and not in it for the money? Try to buy one or have one built, I think you will get a big surprise!!!! Pay $50,000 for one but remember, rust does one thing, it keeps rusting!!!! RESCUE A RAT!!!
StreetTruckinTitan small stuff, this small stuff is distorting the opinions of many young guys that could be the future toddlers that we need!!!! I just hate to see these old cars go to waste!!!!!
@@XXX-qk2cq I'm not crazy for the look but if they can't afford a proper hot rod then they make due with what they can afford and what makes them happy. Like I said. Don't the small stuff and just be happy with what you have.

Great video. Please do another one
Well it,s nice to See A Build being done bye you thks again Keep it up mighty fine to See Wow
Bahaha!

@@XXX-qk2cq Dude, dont sweat the small stuff.
Oh man.. Everything i want to say was said already..👍👍
this dude is my inspiration
Really good.
Funny stuff with the neighbors...😁
