In the 1970’s I was first taken to Florence as a kid and my parents bought me a small box from this producer which I now use for cufflinks and studs. It still gives me pleasure to hold and open it, over forty years later.
My husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary with a 2 week tour of Italy. Visiting the Scuola del Cuoio was truly a highlight of the whole experience. I was mesmerized watching the craftsmen create something exquisite. It felt like I was instantly resonating on the same wavelength as they in creating their extraordinary leather products. Almost a spiritual experience I will treasure forever. Thank you so much for capturing the Scuola on video. I’m going to enjoy watching this over and over.
Execution is everything and this is first class work and the budget for two weeks or more of filming in Italy is a substantial investment which you generously make available for no cost to us- so a big thank you Kirby.
The Best-Dressed Male global award has to go to Mr. Kirby Allison! Forget all those so-called, ‘best-dressed celebrities’ who are dressed by their stylist. Mr. Allison leaves them for dead!!! He takes stylish dressing to another level❤
This video is EXTRAORDINARY!!!!! Thank you so much for creating it. I had not even heard of these amazing people! I am going to Florence next year. I will definitely acquire one of these amazing pieces! Thank you!
Thank you Kirby for always producing such amazing videos. They are truly inspiring and give deep insights which many of us would never be able see otherwise. I wish you all the best !
The way your crew Kirby film’s is like I’m standing next to you. That is what is the quality of a youtube cameramen let’s say. I don’t know, the production…, it is great work, everyone can see.
You're very kind! It is a labor of love. We all - me, the videographers, and especially the editors (who are the unsung heros) - put an incredible amount of work into these productions. It means a lot when this is acknowledge in the comments. Thank you!
Wonderful! I still haven't finished the series as I really wanted to take the shoemaking course at Stefano Bemer for the last 4 years now. Seeing that Kirby is there makes me a bit jealous I have to admit! :)
🙏Sholem aleichem Trilby, enjoying another wonderfull victory smoke. E.P. Carrillo La Historia E-III paired with a Warm, mellow and velvety smooth drop Glenfiddich Vat 04. Your doing great.
So. Much. More. It's actually quite overwhelming how much we filmed on this trip. Insanity. Total insanity. We'll be publishing this Italy episode (every other week) for the rest of the year. Don't know what I was thinking... I'm working too much haha.
Don't worry... we have an episode where we visit Paolo Penko, one of the preeminent goldsmiths in Florence! And, for allowing me to be gone so long while filming this video, Mrs. A got something that she was very happy with! It's an expensive precedent... lol
Nothing here is made in Italy by Chinese workers... there are plenty of makers to misrepresent "Made in Italy." Tommaso and his family are not one of those... But, generally, I agree with your sentiment. I am actually quite reticent to purchase "handmade" products from street shops that cater to tourists in a place like Florence exactly because you have no idea where these items are actually being made. It's real. But this is also one of the reasons that a place like Scuola is such an incredible hidden gem. They are authentic, family-owned and operated, and still practicing the traditional craft that we romanticize about Italy.
KIrby, I just watched your video on using a scanner to scan your feet for shoes. You need to start getting a pedicure. Your sefl care is not working. The little toe on the right foot is red and irritated. You nails are too short and blocked by tissue from growing straight out.
Watched the intro on the last video, had to watch it again here because it's a true spectacle of cinematography. Best wishes kirby. Side note : i think it's time to grow out the ol beard abit . A short neat beard would suit u well. Also , really looking forward to seeing the final reveal of the bespoke suits you've commissioned. ❤
It is a privilege that we get to view these videos for free. Thank you Mr. Allison for your exceptional work!

I've known the Gori family for more than 30 years! What they do at The Leather School is nothing short of extraordinary!
In the 1970’s I was first taken to Florence as a kid and my parents bought me a small box from this producer which I now use for cufflinks and studs. It still gives me pleasure to hold and open it, over forty years later.
These are the kinds of incredible heirlooms one can find at a place like Scuola del Cuoio!
Kirby coming through with that Rick Steves energy! Solid video as always!
I was fortunate to visit this establishment in 2023 and came back with a well crafted cigar tube.
Excellent!
Great choices!

Superb, old boy. Thank you for taking us into the world of quality, craftsmanship, and tradition. 🥂
My pleasure! It's nice to hear someone else say it! haha.
Firenze is simply magical.Thank you for another superb video y viva La Italia !
Indeed! But it only gets better from here! There is so much great content from this trip that I wish I could just publish it all at once!

You're very kind. An incredible amount of work goes into this. I think it took me weeks to recover from this trip...
That's a great programme on TH-cam :) Great quality of video, production and direction

The lady had Kirby down when she pulled out the hand crafted cigar case, right up Kirbys alley as we say in ol Blighty!
@@Havanaaclue Sorry teacher, I'll prepare for my online gimp test better next time. One day I can grow up to be a gimp like you.
Your production is tremendous!

I have been very impatiently waiting for this episode!

Every other week for the rest of the year. Indeed this must have been so much work. Manny thanks Kirby.
I am in awe!
Would love to see you visit the Rocado Tannery in Italy some day! I use their Shell Corodovan, and it’s absolutely phenomenal.
Hidden Gem 💎👍
This is sensational
These are shot so beautifully you can watch with the sound off.
I am eagerly waiting for the Paolo Penko video!
He's coming! Be patient!
WOW.
Hey Kirby,
Whats the piano tune at the end for your outro?
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
Great video Kirby. The constant background music is distracting
the good stuff
a delight
Please can you visit the Sigaro Nostrano factory in Bassano del Grappa
I hope you got Mrs. A some nice gold jewelry (or something) 🇮🇹

It's an expensive precedent... lol
Ah, but considering your shoe, humidor, bespoke wardrobe… 😂😂😂😂
I wish to post a thousand thumbs up for all Allison videos, but I’m only allowed one. Shame. Nick..
Florence is great. I shall return
England vs Italy manufacturing quality?
Earth's Coolest Nation
Lol! watching Italians try not to speak with their hands and mirror Kirby is the funniest thing to see!
Italians can definitely speak without their hands. A good conversationalist knows how to distinguish appropriate behaviour.
You can always tell a racist from his comments
Hey, where are all the guys who complain about the product videos? 😂😂
haha. No kidding.
Kirby, what are you doing there?!
Just wandering around...
Neil Patrick Harris ❤❤❤
Could get a great gimp mask made in this place
How many times can a guys say “you know”
Happens a lot even in UK. Lack of language skills
For a guy how acts so sophisticated you would think he would work on his skills of Conversation.
Linguistic juggling can be difficult...
I haven't noticed it so vividly for a while Kirby but in my view, wearing a hat indoors isn't very attractive
Apologies - i can now see that you've taken it off 23 minutes in
Thankfully someone at last told Kirby to take his hat off.
Perhaps he thought he was still in Cuba.
Made in Italy by Chinese workers doenst mean it is made in Italy
It can be true if they work their way, but where did you see Chinese workers here?!
Nothing here is made in Italy by Chinese workers... there are plenty of makers to misrepresent "Made in Italy." Tommaso and his family are not one of those...

The little toe on the right foot is red and irritated.

Very nice. I plan to visit one day soon, with my wife, and purchase something special for each of us
Scuola del Cuoio is a candy store...
Watched the intro on the last video, had to watch it again here because it's a true spectacle of cinematography. Best wishes kirby.

Haha. The beard is calling my name...
