Currently, reading Yuval Harari's book, Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks from the Stone Age. Although I haven't finished it yet, one striking argument that stands out is about the role of social media companies in misinformation. Harari suggests that these platforms, driven by the goals of maximizing user engagement and generating revenue, are equally important in the spread of misinformation. He draws a comparison to how radio cannot solely be blamed for the Rwandan massacre, implying that social media shouldn't be singularly blamed for current issues from Myanmar to Brazil. However, Harari insists that the goals of AI algorithms must be crafted with care. The aim shouldn't be merely to maximize user engagement, especially since people are more often engaged by content that evokes anger and hate rather than love and compassion. As technology becomes more advanced, AI algorithms will be increasingly difficult to control if these goals are not properly set. Nevertheless, propaganda posts continue to circulate, leading to the creation of isolated human networks or echo chambers.
Been with you and watching your videos since you were at 2k+ subscribers. Amazing growth since then. Also great content as usual, very data science-y, and interesting. And I love the format of these videos, it's like watching two of our friends discussing intellectually!
Well, one intellectual and one... me! 🤣 But, jokes aside, thank you for your wonderful and kind comments! And thanks doubly for being such an integral part of our journey! 🙏 - Shrikant
Yeah, would it help if we were to delay the experiment by a week? But I'm worried it might come across as if we are trying to force people to watch older episodes by masquerading them as new episodes... 🤔 - Shrikant

Bad episode. Doesn't make sense really! Educating people to rely on wiki is beyond childish. I hoped for this channel to be free from bias but sadly it is turning out to be biased.

Homeopathy can't cure Avogadro, just like God can't help aethist. Placebos work, but you have to have faith
