  • My definition of "quick" might not fall in line with others. But I've got you know, things to say. I call these a "quickview" because it covers unboxing and initial testing. It does not speak to durability, longevity, etc.
    Here we have the subject in question, 2.2" carbon fiber beadocks. Sold under a variety of names, but they're all the same thing, usually around $55 for a set of four (Prime pricing) with some cheaper if you're willing to wait. I assume they're also all over eBay, AliExpress, Banggood, etc. To me, it's worth an extra couple of bucks to get them in 48 hours or less.
    And should you be interested, here's a link to it (not an affiliate or anything)

    Zoidberg is my favourite of all your rigs, just like a cat on carpet.

    Thanks for another great video. I just got 2 sets of these w/ my Ali express cf lcg chassis. I run Punks 3D customs wheels on my Dlux Asylum sporty and they are great. I’m impressed w/ these China wheels as well for the price. They didn’t clear my ar44 front brass on my latest lcg build. I stretched my 1.9 ruptures on mine. I’m running them flipped and swapped out hubs to the shortest I have. They are super deep dish now lol. Clears my brass and I get Capra width on AR44s. My chassis is running my old cut up Capra cage. Crazy light. And it’s break over ability in now nuts. Needs all the fine tuning now. The fun stuff. I’d recommend these wheels on a budget build.

    Personally. This is my favorite tire wheel combo / review / you’ve shown as of yet. Zoidberg is an entirely new beast!

    the Zoidberg is good - losing the wheel weight makes the front brass more efective relative to the new weight - i think it is what contributes to the better control and overall better planted rig

    Great review! Did the tire profile change? It looks a little more rounded off than on the old wheels.
    Also, congrats on hitting 2k subs!

      It does look like it rounded the profile a little, but it made the Ruptures better if anything. The inner ring is a bit over half the width of the "wide" 2.2 rings. So I don't know if it was one thing or a combination of things that combined to increase performance. I just know it's better.

    Been running these on my 2.2 rigs over a year. I have two sets and they've seen many a hard mile. They are solid rims for the money and mount well across the board. Hardware will rust, my only gripe.
    Side note: Z could use a face lift. But how much could you share off the top? My 4s carbon chassis 4ws Capra build is 8lbs rtr. Been thinking about a revamp myself...

      I think Zoidberg is at or under 8lbs, actually. Even at the size of the BAJR body, it's lighter than most "fullsize" crawler bodies. I do have a replacement plastic front axle to replace the pot-metal one that's on there now, but it hasn't given me any issues so I haven't been motivated to swap it out. When I look at the rig, I can't see changing anything other than maybe links, to stretch the wheelbase out even further. I could tidy up the wiring a bit, but hey-- everything works.

    Very well done sir. Where are you getting your hex hubs? I've tried looking on Amazon and cannot find 6 lug versions.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  ปีที่แล้ว

      All over the Amazon, just usually not listed/named in any way that would be helpful, so they can be hard to find.
      I think these are 10-23: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GM61JXK
      And these are 6-22: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MS2XHT1
      I just go with whoever is cheapest at the time.

    I have those on my bomber i couldn't get them to fit in the tires that came with the rift. Think i can get them to fit if i try again?

      A qualified... maybe. The compound of the RTR Swampers is downright hard compared to any "crawling" compound-- JConcepts green feels like taffy compared to whatever the Swampers are made out of. I don't think I would try it myself, as the design of the wheel seems like one that is best used when going slowly. I feel like if I put some real speed and power through them, they might show the weakness of something so light.

    man id love to find some similar wheels but in 1.9!

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Same-- but alas, I've not been able to determine such a thing exists. It might be because the clearances for c-hubs/knuckles would be too tight. Because of the connecting bits, the space inside the wheel is actually fairly small. It's like a 2.2 on the outside and a 1.9 on the inside.

    What foams are you running in those and what is the total weight of that rig? Great video, I’m a new subscriber. Keep it up!!

      Stock JConcepts mediums. Zoidberg is really light for his size, he’s around 7lbs.

    I enjoy watching you do dumb stuff.
    I try to keep rotating mass low - not that sub 4" tires are heavy.

      There are some advanced-Chinesium 1.9s on Amazon, that feature the lock ring and both faces... solid brass. They're something like 250g per wheel-- so with tire and foam, easily 350-400g per corner. Too much of a good thing? Whoa baby.
