Being robbed while on vacation or traveling is painful enough, being robbed with an authentic bag is even worse, I agree with your point about buying fakes from *condup* for personal safety reasons

He has great talent, and seems to be using all the tools that one would use for leathercraft. Bell skiver to thin out the edges for rolling the edges, cutting mat and razor, ruler, double stick tape for attaching zippers, and so forth. Too bad he isn't using real leather, it would last decades longer than this plastic stuff. Still, I'm sure these bags go for upwards of $700 or more, for all that time spent hand crafting those bags. I make wallets and bags out of leather, and believe it or not, time spent and materials and resources, a wallet (minimum 3 hours to make) would have a price tag of at least $150.
I can guarantee this bag is $200 or less. It is using good labour, but the actual materials are very poor, and labour in Japan is very cheap (like half cost of europe or america) There are plenty of high end craftsmen in Japan that are making real leather bags with quality metal zippers for $500 or less.

On the other hand, Japan has almost no cow, and from that viewing point, fake leather can make sense as real leather would cost too much for a everyday student bag. I am not saying this won't last, but real a leather is usually a much more resistant material!

このオーダーバッグは実のところ一つ仕上げるのに８時間はかかります。
手間のかかる部分は映像では殆どカットしています。
タブレットを入れる為のファスナー付き二枚中仕切りや底の部分にウレタンを装着したり、書類を多く入れても底が下に沈み丸くならない様に薄いベニヤ板を入れたりしています。
