Nice alternative to the regular solenoids and looks period. You did a nice job, I just wonder about failure rate? The old system allows replacing individual solenoids when they fail,
One day, maybe sooner if they demand we buy only electric worse for the environment cars, I will get a CJ and if needed resto mod it into my daily driver. A trip out to a nice warm dry state may be in order though.
yeah..I have a Rough Country on my 3B, I like the 8274, but they are prohibitively expensive and weigh in at like 100lbs. My 9000lb Rough Country is like 60lbs...big difference when you only have 70 HP to work with :)
Awesome timing. I have an 8274 on my workbench ready to rebuild! Thanks for this video. Makes it sound much less daunting than I originally thought.
Awesome! Yeah it’s not that bad, the old wiring diagrams make it more confusing than it is 😆
Researching to make stuff work is my favorite thing to do! Your great at doing that. Good job, Jacob!
I really appreciate it! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. When my solenoids fail I now know there is an east solution!
Great! Thank you for watching!
That turned out great! I tore one down guts and all for my dad’s 80 model Chevy. I wish I had a shed full of them to rebuild.
Thank you! Me too they are iconic winches!
Nice set up.
Thank you!
Thank you very much. I've been wanting for this

I'd recommend the ground go to the battery.
I had the wirering get cooked because of that.
Good to know, I appreciate it!

That’s a good point I’m not sure how long these contactor packs last. Fortunately they aren’t crazy expensive! Thanks!
Nice Jeep! What size spacers are you running?
1.5” spacers I appreciate it!
Hi, Did that caution sticker on top of the cover come with the cover ? if not where can i find it ? thanks
It came with the cover! Sorry I’m not sure!
@@SevenBarSalvage thanks
Nice!

What rope are you running?
The cheapest 3/8th synthetic line I could find on Amazon haha 😅

I’ll always encourage buying an old Jeep 😉
I’m one of the few that doesn’t care for the 8274. I pulled mine off my trailer and replaced with a badland and have zero complaints.

I’ve got a bad land myself on my trailer they are great winches for the price! Nothing beats the look of an 8274 on an old Jeep though 😉
Those are just 100 amp constiduty relays you can buy them at napa
