In this experiment, we challenged these biases by asking people to guess their blind date partner's interests and past experiences based only on their partner's appearance. When they learned their partner's real answers, they were shocked by how wrong they were.

She's not making 6 figures at 24. She made 6 figures for one year at age 23. Now she is 24 and making zero dollars while paying tuition of $60,000 per academic year (plus NYC housing/living expenses) for four years. Then she will do an internship and residency of 3 to 8 years, during which she can earn mid-5 figures per year. After that, she can start paying off the $240,000+ that she spent on medical school (plus her college loans, if any).

Who are these people saying she is crazy for going to medical school? She was trying to normalize the fact that she's a medical student talking to a 21-year-old high school graduate who wants to be a professional fighter (though he says he will probably get a 2 year degree at some point... which only shows that he has no clue what he's doing).
She is trying to be self-depreciating (saying his guess that she is a nurse is "close" to the fact that she's a med student). Also, she worked for, at most, one year as an analyst, and we don't know whether she was asked back for a second year.
These two have nothing in common, plus he doesn't find her attractive (if he did, he would have said "yes" from the start).

Instead, from what they said, he is going to inherit a successful business from his father, and she will have student debts of a quarter-million dollars. Still, she is beautiful and blonde and he is handsome with dark hair, and they had a pretty good conversation, so who knows what might happen next?

heyjul 24 its great to have someone that have immediate chemistry. But its hard to find. When my boyfriend and I met, we didnt have much chemistry, i was very shy and quiet. But we are very happy together for almost 3 years and we never felt bored to be together everyday. So, its not necessary to have this chemistry on the first date.
