We love all our yachts and think HH66 Nemo was looking pretty good last week as she blasted by a TP52 in the BVIs. And then there was the hull fly during commissioning in Miami on our latest HH50 just two days ago. Things are looking pretty prefect to us (but we are biased)!
Well, you folks are to be commended. It's not easy riding the wave of change inside a very traditional industry and way of life. This ex SV engineer and start up pro thinks what you're doing is AWESOME. I have zillions of questions about the HH52...most especially specs and technical detail. I'm finally on a journey to get my 1st blue water cruiser and H2O based pied a terre. The timeline is prolly around a year, and the HH52 has me pretty excited. I'm most interested in the specs regarding the basics, like specs of the components. Also, run times and typical recharge times for a couple different weather pictures would be nice to see. Like cloudy day/sunny day type info. I'm mostly asking because I want to do some extensive upgrading, regarding load capacity and probably additional batteries. The boat is going to be a part time live aboard, and I'm one of those that needs and screams for more aH to power all the sweet tech I'm gonna retrofit. Are folks jazzed up about Starlink Maritime? Elon is kicking more ass and I love it. I know a lot of folks with the tech and have not heard a bad word. The pricing is stupendous compared to the usual companies and gear needed for 24/7 bulletproof data. My "retirement career" demands it. I just saw pricing on SL Maritime and think I read 1000 bucks a month for unlimited up to 1TB monthly at 250mbps. That's somewhere around 90% cheaper than the big boys who have a tiny customer base in the global market. And jeepers did I almost faint from the costs from Inmarsat, for example. Anyhoo, it's lonely being a business early adopter and sell and compete in a marketplace that is gonna have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the future. You folks are doing it passionately and thoughtfully. I imagine you are a family business, and maybe that's father and son I've been watching. Great stuff either way as far as the tech talks. Thanks for your efforts and one way or the other, you are on the short list of candidates. ⛵

Hats off for seeing the future! I think more and more people will elect to ditch a traditional house and move into something they can live in and explore the world at the same time. That said, did you guys give any thought into adding an area for something like a Starlink system to allow for internet connectivity? Is there anywhere on the boat that I might be able to mount the dish? I got here via Gone with the Wynns. Very excited to see their new boat come to life!
Did you notice cruising has been shut down for nearly 3 years. In thailand you need a agent to enter. 2,000 usd in fee. Its a mess still. So youre comment is limmited and the future has changed cruising forever. Australians could not even go to the next town for 2 fucken years.
@@sailingsolo5290 I watched a couple of the Pacific Blue Water cruisers deal with it, but they seemed to manage. (Eg, Sailing Zatara, La Vagabond). The Wynn's got it the worst by far.

If I was in the market for a sailing yacht I'd buy one. But I'm ordering a solar electric power yacht. I'm retiring on it and just don't want sails and rigging. But love this boat
Well, wait when Wynns get it and then we see is it good or not. Hybrid and diesel is intresting. But let us see is it good enough to trade current vessel.
Amazing vessel! Would be nice to have more about the helm stations, which appears incredible, in spite of apparently offering no seats (I expect to be wrong, but I haven't seen it).
I am waiting for the technical details. As for me I see no need for 2x oldscool Diesel engines and gearboxes. With that amount of solar and hydroregen on a fast catamaran I hope you plan a electric version too. On the 3D models I could already spot a Throttle of a main Electric propulsion company.
Essentially, yes. Given the large amount of solar on this boat it is likely that owners never need to use the diesel engines (but they are there as a back up should they need them).
The HH44-OC version starts at $947k USD and the racier version starts at $1.2m. Please get in touch if you want to learn more here: www.hhcatamarans.com/contact
The helms are exposed when swung outboard (toward the hulls), but can be fully enclosed when the wheel is in the vertical or inboard position. If it's raining, you can still steer, operate all your sail controls and see your navigation equipment while staying dry. Hope that helps explain things!
First saw your boat on the youtube channel "Gone with the Wynns" and boy do I want one of these boats for my own family. The Wynns will be great partners for your company. They have a lot of influence. How much is this boat? Give us a clue.
A fascinating boat, perhaps some will opt for a reserve generator / engine and ditch the twin engines. Although having seen Sailing Nahoa's need to travel much of the Indian Ocean under diesel engine due to light/no wind, I would be interested how a hybrid system would cope with that + aircon. I'm sure the excellent weight savings throught the boat from carbon fibre to an expertly constructed interior will result in both swift sailing performance and less energy under power.
The EcoDrive can function as two 5kw Generators if in neutral, so no need to have a reserve one! The Parallel Hybrid set up makes too much sense (if you ask us)!
I like the idea of turning one of the forward cabins into office/work storage space but I can’t help wondering whether people would prefer that to be on the owner’s hull. I’ve never really understood the need to have an enormous bathroom taking up an entire forward cabin. I would prefer a mid ship bathroom like on the non-owners hull side and turn the forward space into a nice space with a large desk/ work table, comfortable chair and extra storage space, extra fridge, washing machine, etc. What do people with existing owner hull cats think?
The issue for live-aboards is that if you move the head to the middle of the hulls then you remove all the cabinets and lockers for clothes storage. The boat also feels more cramped. Of all the cats we have ever built, less than 10% have been four cabin models.
@@HHCatamarans Hi, I appreciate the reply. I suppose what I was suggesting is not to get rid of the concept of an owner's hull but to reconfigure the owner's hull with the sleeping area aft, a bathroom mid-hull, and then a forward (private) multi-purpose area (it wouldn't even have to have a door) which could be used as a walk in cupboard/dressing room/office/workbench area. The storage that would have been mid-hull would be forward instead. The problem with replacing one of the guest cabins with such an area is you cut down on the number of guests you can have at once. It is fine for younger guests to sleep up top in the living area, but i think as you get a bit older you do appreciate a bit of privacy. I might be looking at this from too 'male' a perspective and the size of bathroom may be more important to others. I also appreciate that my suggested configuration may not be the most efficient use of the available volume in that hull - would need your clever design team to do the calculations.
Just curious, are there any plans to offer the OC with dagger boards? it would seem like a good intermediate between the extreme high performance of the SC and the more sedate OC. Also beautiful interior, I've never been the biggest fan of your interior design in the past but this is stunning!
Hello Adam, we offer a cruising version that features very thin and hydrodynamic mini-keels that are much like daggerboards in their design with our OC model. These offer excellent up wind sailing performance with little maintenance or worry. Meanwhile, if you want even crazier up wind performance, we offer our expensive but incredibly strong Pre-Preg Carbon C-Shaped Americas Cup style daggerboards for the performance SC model. We think that if you learn more about our Mini Keels you will see why we do not offer a simple daggerboard (which is really not all that effective). Please give us a call to learn more!
I really love the incorporation of a pantry/workspace down in the hull. My only question is; would it be possible to have that configuration but with the lower drawers removed, creating an office space for those in need of more screen real estate and a dedicated office space. I recognise that you could use the nav station as an office space, but I can only really see working with a laptop there and not a dedicated pc
Agreed - you dont always have passengers or friend to fill all the cabins. The work shop space is a great idea an if you are working over VPN in a marina or port. This also why Starlink is such a game changer for cruisers.
@@BRADH-xw8sw I was literally thinking about it with starlink in mind. Apparently Elon is working on a portable solution that would work with boats. They're currently testing with I believe 10 vessels, might be wrong though.
@@ThatDollLoopie I have a few friends who've put starlink on their boats and have had absolutely no problems. Granted, they haven't made a blue water cruise but they do go up the west coast and said it was a game changer and had connectivity the whole time.
Love the layout and those forward opening windows will be fantastic at anchor, this boat is going to sell extremely well! Is there a seating area for when the helms are canted towards the outside or is the intent that you’d stand in that position?
Yes, there is a seat that folds down from the side of the hull. Here's a picture of what that looks like: drive.google.com/file/d/1iRnKGXwqr3CGM8v8F04UWSsetqL63s2W/view?usp=sharing
@@HHCatamarans thanks for the picture! Would be nice if there was a seat back to lean up against, maybe a cushion could be made to fit there and rest against the fold up transom. Will be a great place to watch the sails and enjoy the scenery/sunshine.
We felt the same, but there is always a trade off with design. By adding a backrest it makes the seat too thick and it will not fold flush with the hull in the up position. We assume most users will have pillows in the Cockpit they can use to lean up against, which might be more comfortable too. For this reason we kept it as designed. Lots of thought went into this helm station!
@@HHCatamarans this is just an idea, but since HH has the expertise in making custom carbon fiber components, an elegant solution would be to put two titanium bushing in the fold down seat platform. You could then have a back rest made with the carbon fiber exposed look that would drop into those bushings. It could be stored easily and not take up any room, plus look fantastic and high end for relatively little cost. You’d only need one because it would fit both sides. Guaranteed everyone buying this boat would tick that box on the options list!
If HH made a Trimaran..... it would completely revolutionize the industry. I'm thinking a Neel 51, but with the light weight and carbon quality of HH. Safer, faster, and more enjoyable than a catamaran.
Solar panel cooling to increase efficiency? Do you mount the coach roof panels on LEXAN (or similar inexpensive) capillary panels providing air flow underneath sola panels heat removal?
All HH catamarans are built with a crash locker in the bow, so that should water ingress it would not go further aft than the forward locker, which also has a dedicated bilge pump. Thanks for asking.
There was a good video titled "HH44 EcoDrive round table discussion" . It went into depth about the boat and even showed a performance forecast. Was that yours? Noticed it went private all of a sudden. Also, will Hull #1 be at Annapolis this year? Thanks,
Hi Mike, we are updating that video and about to release a new version with improved Polar data (we dialed in the sail performance data with our partners at Doyle, so this should improve our analysis). As for Annapolis, we will unfortunately be putting the finishing touches on Hull 01 around that time, so we will aim for the La Grande Motte boat show for the grand unveiling. Hope you can join us!
@@HHCatamarans Looking forward to the forthcoming videos. The more details the better. As a sailor, I really like the technical data side of things more than the choices of colors and such. Although, I understand that those things are very necessary as well. :-)
Hi Mike, we shared the polars in our third episode, which is now live. But if you would like to review them in more detail, please click here: drive.google.com/file/d/1Avn0fRCO3NfkbNv3apqYE3WKWUBiHBDs/view?usp=sharing

I still don’t understand why you would go for parallel hybrid over series hybrid. I have a BMW i3 Ranger Extender which is a series hybrid. The generator can hold charge in the batteries, or charge the batteries, or run the electric motors completely when the batteries are almost gone. However a sail boat also has solar panels and it can charge the batteries when sailing via the prop. There are also sails after all for wind power! So it’s all completely reliable and safe with multiple back ups and fail safe. In my opinion you should have two strong electric propulsion engines in each hull. That is simple and reliable and also has the safety of two engines giving redundancy. Then you only need one or two generators, which can maintain the battery charge level indefinitely if required as long as there is fuel to run them. But on top of that, sailing generates electric power from a reverse prop and solar adds to it as well. Having two heavy Diesel engines with the added complication of a parallel system isn’t the best of both worlds it is in fact neither one thing or the other and doesn’t fully realise the advantages of going al in with electric. You just need a generator to maintain the charge on the battery if required. All catamarans should be fitted out like this nowadays. Engines do not need to directly drive the props and should only be used to fill the batteries when needed.
We look at it another way. Why have a Diesel motor in a boat that can't spin a prop when needed? Everything you say is correct about solar and wind power, but in a Parallel hybrid you are not solely relying on a single system - you have parallel systems. If one part fails, you can reply on the other system.

Correct, you will probably swing the helm inboard and sit on the six inch foam cushions looking forward from the bench on the aft crossbeam. And yes, our final Episode will be about the differences between the HH and OC versions (one helm instead of two, mini keels instead of daggerboards, aluminum longeron and mast instead of carbon, EcoDrive not standard). Thanks for watching!
No, we only build owner's versions, but you can get bunks in the forward cabin and both tables lower and turn into night berths if you so wish. Thanks for watching.

Great detail on a great boat
This looks amazing! I really hope you start incorporating this design in your bigger cats. The other’s are appearing a bit dated compared to this one.
We love all our yachts and think HH66 Nemo was looking pretty good last week as she blasted by a TP52 in the BVIs. And then there was the hull fly during commissioning in Miami on our latest HH50 just two days ago. Things are looking pretty prefect to us (but we are biased)!
I wouldn’t be here checking out your fantastic boat if not for the Wynns.
We love the Wynns!
Thanks for watching and for leaving all those great comments! We should have a HH52 video serious out shortly, but if you want more information please reach out to us at Sales@HHcatamarans.com and we will send you what we have!
@@bobbykeene12 I am still stuck in asia because i refuse to comply and sell my soul or even test.. Its a disaster for all cruisers. Huge expense.
Have you enjoyed designing the new boat for Nikki and Jason Wynns?
They are great customers and have many great ideas. We have enjoyed working with them immensely!
Beautiful. Where can we find pricing?
We've added base price information to the website. For options list drop us a line sales@hhcatamarans.com.
Order one for me! I just have to win the lotto! haha! great work team!
Amazing vessel! Would be nice to have more about the helm stations, which appears incredible, in spite of apparently offering no seats (I expect to be wrong, but I haven't seen it).
The seats fold down from the hulls. They are not a perfect solution, but we think overall they are a great solution for this boat.
Wow, you’ve inspired me to buy a lottery ticket
Me too
Love this boat!
Genius design
Are your sailboats offered with fully electric drives, large solar and re-gen, to be able to sail forever for free and without polluting?
Essentially, yes. Given the large amount of solar on this boat it is likely that owners never need to use the diesel engines (but they are there as a back up should they need them).
I love this boat . It’s my my dream list . Could you give me a indication of price please
The HH44-OC version starts at $947k USD and the racier version starts at $1.2m. Please get in touch if you want to learn more here:

This boat is beautiful, can someone explain why the helm (helms?) are not fully enclosed? What do you do in a storm?
The helms are exposed when swung outboard (toward the hulls), but can be fully enclosed when the wheel is in the vertical or inboard position. If it's raining, you can still steer, operate all your sail controls and see your navigation equipment while staying dry. Hope that helps explain things!
First saw your boat on the youtube channel "Gone with the Wynns" and boy do I want one of these boats for my own family. The Wynns will be great partners for your company. They have a lot of influence. How much is this boat? Give us a clue.
The base price is just under $1M. Check out the HH44 page at hhcatamarans.com/hh44 for more information.
😍I want to learn to sail on this boat!
You should!
Could you do a video on the OC 44
That is Episode 5!
Im sold being 6''6" tall
Guaranteed everyone buying this boat would tick that box on the options list!
perfect
If HH made a Trimaran..... it would completely revolutionize the industry. I'm thinking a Neel 51, but with the light weight and carbon quality of HH.
Safer, faster, and more enjoyable than a catamaran.
The Nav is to die for... but curious, does the HH44 have a bow thruster ?
We do not think you need one, but if a customer was adamant that they have a bow thruster, then yes, we can install one for them.
I'm 6'6", I'll take it.
Solar panel cooling to increase efficiency? Do you mount the coach roof panels on LEXAN (or similar inexpensive) capillary panels providing air flow underneath sola panels heat removal?
No need!
are the hulls on all HH cats strong enough to withstand bumping into a wayward shipping container, or log, in the open seas?
All HH catamarans are built with a crash locker in the bow, so that should water ingress it would not go further aft than the forward locker, which also has a dedicated bilge pump. Thanks for asking.
@@HHCatamarans Thank you for replying

You swing the helm inboard and drop your aft canvas. You can steer and line handle and stay dry.
@@HHCatamarans I do not see the aft canvas in any of the pictures or drawings
