Seeing this for the first time while sitting on a bus to New York while the sun was setting was truly an experience I won’t forget
I just completed the game including the post game stuff and I just have to say this is has to be my GOTY contender if not in my Top 5 Switch games of all time
It’s sad to say but it’s rare to play through a game nowadays and to feel like you got a complete game at launch but I can happily say this game is one of those rare gems, this game was blasted with personality, excellent level designs/theming, some of the best bosses in the series, a killer soundtrack, and would even get challenging at times
I have never been a huge Kirby fan, yeah I enjoyed games like Super Star Ultra and Planet Robobot but I haven’t been this heavily invested to a Kirby game since Kirby AirRide back in GameCube
The future looks bright for this Puffball and I genuinely cannot wait to see where HAL takes him with the next 3D entry

Y'know, for a game called Kirby and the FORGOTTEN Land, this is probably gonna go down as the most memorable Kirby game.

This is easily the best Kirby game I’ve ever played. You can really see how much love and attention to detail was packed into this game.
Also, I would like to formally apologize to Elfilin. I didn’t trust you at first, but you pulled through in the end. You are a true bro.
Everyone was mad sus onto Elfilin then just to turn out they we're good the whole time
I like that even after 100% completing the game there is some stuff to do.
I wasn't ready to say goodbye to the game so I went back and did all arenas without copy abilities (ultimate z took me a few days), did all the levels of the rolling ball minigame + the target times and got all the target times for the treasure roads. After I felt satisfied with the game I asked the waddle dees band to play one last song, the instrumental version of the credits, then closed the game after going around town for the last time (in a while at least) and closed the game.
This game is so damn good, it reminds me why I love kirby games so much, they just pure fun with some tough challenges to tackle at the end, and the games have so much personality. I'm so glad this game was good too because star allies was kinda meh for me, even tough it got better at the end + post game. Still gotta go back to that one and unlock classic kirby.

It was such a Mr. Kumazaki thing to literally put lore in the concert itself.

I think this song has a double meaning. I mean, it's fitting for kirby's introduction to a new world of spralling wilds. However... how could it be written for kirby's adventure when the people who wrote and performed it are long gone?..
I think that this song is written for the previous civilization of the forgotten land. It seems that every citizen of this place that wasn't animal has left. So suffice to say this song is likely an advertisement. Literally hyping up and selling the idea of moving to a new world. A dreamland where everyone can be happy.
The lyrics are depicting Dreamland itself. The spralling fields, the spring breeze, all of the wonderful nature and peaceful times. A place of only dreams and love.
That could mean a couple of things
1. There are actual humans somewhere in Dreamland (unlikely)
2. This was long, LONG ago, way into the past before Kirby came to Dreamland, and the humans who inhabited Dreamland have either died, or left

@@r34dood It's hard to say how much time passed between events. On one hand they could be connected or be THE ancients. On the other they could only be 20-50 years ago.
The animals are bitter that they were forgotten, implying the wound is still fresh. But it's really hard to say for sure.
I think it's possible that Lab Discovera was responsible for this song, since their lab tour used a remix for the background music of the voiceover. Both the tour and the song might have been part of a campaign encouraging the former populace to leave, since Lab Discovera probably realized they couldn't contain Fecto forever and as such wanted to ensure nobody was around when Fecto broke out and resumed their rampage.
The “new world” could also be referencing the series’ jump into 3D and new direction it’ll take

After beating the game this song takes on a whole new meaning. The residents of the Forgotten Land left it behind for a land of dreams, the lyrics of this song speak all about letting go and going to a new world. This was made to beckon the old residents of the Forgotten Land to let go of their connections to their home and leave it behind.
While the song doesn't have an actual title, given the lyrics, in the chorus I'd wager the song's original title when the civilization was still alive was "Running Wild"

The sound test has all of the song names for the first time in a mainline Kirby game, this is the correct name.
In the credits it says “Welcome to the new world - Kirby opening song” so i think this is the name

Kirby and Elfilin did it! Thanks to their courage Pop Star and the Forgotten Land are saved! The Waddle Dees can live happily again! The Beast Pack is free from the grasp of the parasite that took them over! And Dedede is probably going to grab a snack or something.

For the true ending: The Beast Pack is free from the grasp of the parasite that took Leongar, also, he was saved and turned into a new leaf, and Meta Knight is training to become stronger and get his rematch against Kirby, while the mysterious Morpho Knight has vanished again (will he return? only time will tell)

I can't express how much I loved this game. You can see HAL really poured their hearts into making this game. It's impossible to not love Kirby

This opening theme truly sets the scene for that feel good, “best adventure ever” kinda vibe you’d get playing games as a kid. Even though Kirby is MY BOI I did NOT expect to enjoy this game as much as I did.
It’s so tonally consistent and high polish throughout the whole thing. Could not stop smiling throughout the experience.
Why is this song more powerful, more emotional, and overall 100x Better than Jump Up, Superstar when this song has it’s lyrics in a fake language?
As for the ending It was pretty nice to see that despite the Beast Pack putting him and his friends through a ton of crap, Kirby instantly became friends with all of them. He’s the very definition of positivity.
Also based on the ending, does this mean Kirby will live in the new world from now on? Or is he able to go between both the New World and Popstar?
If you talk to Bandana Waddle Dee, he says theres a connection between the two worlds so they can all go back and forth.
My guess is this’ll probably just be like Epic Yarn, where Kirby has a way to return to the other world, but will never use it again after said game

actually, Endings that Are a roller coaster of emotions always make me cry.

I love Kirby's song. This song represents like the main character hears friends, rivals, families and many people have been encouraging and helping. The protagonist regains the last power before facing against the true final boss.
I don’t know what’s up with the resurgence of song with lyrics in recent Nintendo games on the Switch but I’m not complaining since I absolutely love it.
I bought the game today. As soon as I heard this playing in the opening level I could tell this is going to be a great game.
It gave me a huge smile on my face.
Hearing this in the first level of the game made my jaw automatically open, and then I started grinning like an idiot the entire scene.
If Blowout Blast, Battle Royale, and the overworld maps in Star Allies were testing the waters up to this point, then HAL really knocked it out of the park for it being their first, full-fledged 3D Kirby game. It was just brimming with creativity and charm from start to finish, the soundtrack is among one of my top favorites in the series, and I actually felt a bit sad and empty after beating the game 100%. Which I haven't felt that way about finishing a game since the original Xenoblade Chronicles.
I'm just glad that Kirby's finally joining the trend of trying something new, yet still keeping the core mechanics that made the previous games so enjoyable like Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses did. I just hope Pokémon does the same with Scarlet/Violet, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.
I'd say Pokemon already did it with Legends Arceus, but we'll see how Gen 9 goes
I think all 3 were stepping stones for this game as Blowout Blast was to see how Kirby would control in a 3D environment, Battle Royale making sure the abilities could be simple to understand in 3D, and like you said the overworld being more simple in Star Allies but yes still a overworld in 3D all resulted in this masterpiece, hope it can be honored for Game of the Year later in the year, it’s time people finally understand how amazing this series is

In terms of the civilization that lived in the Forgotten Land, I think this song was written after the warp technology was discovered. That's why it's about exploring a new world. And I'm not 100% certain on this, but that new world was probably Planet Popstar, since it appears that's where their warp technology first put them out.
Leongar while he's mind controlled by forgo also talks about how the people of the land went to:"a place of dreams" which already raised many red flags in my brain regarding where they were going, it also could explain all the relics of the ancients pop star has like the luv luv stick or the star wand just to give to examples, as said examples had to be from a previous civilisation.
Taking this into account: it is possible halcandra was only one of many world's the ancients colonies OR the ancients had buddy species they knew.
In fact, some have *even* gone as far as to suggest that this place may be earth, while I don't 100 percent agree with this idea,(64's shiver star) I DO agree that the species that lived in the forgotten land was very advanced and tried going to pop star.

I think that "Warp technology" was actually just a trick by Fecto and he ate them all. The land of dreams is his psychic mindscape after all

Everyone seems to forget that the Ancients still disappeared somehow, and it wouldn't be too far out of the realm of possibility for Fecto to do that. Plus, it says in one of the figure descriptions that they used the soul of the Beast Pack members so they could use their true form without Elfilin.
Goodness, I've had this song stuck in my head ever since I finished this glorious game. Not only is the song fitting for Kirby's newest adventure, but in my eyes, it also perfectly encapsulates how far Kirby and HAL have come since the original Kirby's Dream Land. It's been almost 30 years since the first game in the series, and now we finally have a 3D mainline entry. Dear NOVA, I love this series...
All in all, Welcome To The New World is now one of my all time favorite vocal themes in ANY video game. Ever. Kirby & The Forgotten Land is my GOTY, and absolutely nothing will change that.

For me this was a amazing experience, Kirby has been with me my entire life and is one of those series that will always stick with me as it has a deep place in my heart. I always enjoy the new things they introduce and the callbacks because I grew up with this series a lot as a kid, I love how HAL is trying to enter a new era of Kirby whilst trying to keep what makes the fans love it for what it is. You can tell the devs put their heart and soul into this game, when they take the time to create a vocal main theme for a series that normally doesn’t feature them. And what an amazing main theme this is, for an amazing game! Really hoping they add DLC, because after 100%’ing the game just yesterday, I still want a reason to keep playing it (other than, y’know, just doing a new playthrough on an empty save file)!

I wasn't too sure about this when the vocals first kicked in in the intro, but coupled with the cutscene of Kirby exploring the city, it became so charming.
Then during the credits, when you understand who the song was truly speaking too, I fell in love.
This will be the first song that will play when I get my first ever car and ride it on a brand new stage of my life
I still remember the first time I heard this in the opening cutscene of the first stage. Kirby has been a big part of my life, being the first game I ever played back on the OG Game Boy, and I like many others waited so long to see them finally take the first step into a proper 3D game. I was hesitant on if Hal would manage to pull it off, as all of their other 3D romps were either non-platformer spinoffs or glorified tech demos. Hearing this song play paired with the cutscene gave me a rush of emotion, and I knew right then this game was going to be something special.
This is literally an anime opening from the late 80's, early 90's.
Completed the 100% of this game with my bf in about 4 days. To be honest, I wasn't very excited for this game, but I'm glad it surprised me for good. It was so much better than I expected. We couldn't stop playing because it was so much fun, and this song was the cherry on top. Wish it had real lyrics tho.

The lyrics they posit in English are probably the closest to the tune, since the fictional written language sung is based in English. The majority of the English lyrics match up to the music... So use your imagination or sing it yourself!

Imagine if the 2d games take place on planet popstar etc and the 3d games take place in the new world (since we only see two continents) Surely there are more islands SOMEWHERE. Idk
not to mention we really only spent time on the coast of the first island, on the left you can see that there’s definitely more to the first island

It’s so good on how they handled Kirby in 3D. It’s jam-packed with content, awesome lore, and everything that makes a good Kirby Game!

This was my First Kirby game that i got for my birthday and i totally gotta say it was so super 200% fun, enjoyable, spectacular, amazing, and so extremely fantastic, and soundtracks really amazingly divine and so very heartwarming and this is one of the best Kirby games every in history 😊💜😊🎮🎶🎸🎧

When I first played a Kirby Game, it was Return to Dreamland and I was playing #2 as Meta Knight while my Sister was Kirby because I was not that good at playing as him and that trend continued… until this game. Thanks to the 3D plain, it gave me a lot more room to breath during levels and boss fights and as soon as I beat it and this theme started playing, I fully announced this game as my New Favorite Kirby Game

As a Singaporean, I’m in love with Japanese games especially this series. Didn’t expect this game to have ‘vocal’ song and I just finished watching the full walkthrough of the game today, this game is truly the ‘game of the year’ for me and the best game to celebrate the series 30th anniversary. This shows that the brighter future and endless journey of this series continues through this pandemic times.

I love the implication of the forgotten land being called a "new world" because of this being Kirby's first full 3D game
The fact that this song plays over a radio in-game has some interesting implications considering the lore that the original inhabitants of the Forgotten Land left using teleportation technology. Maybe the song was made to convince more people to leave?

This was my first Kirby game. I bought it for my girlfriend of six years but it became my own after we are no longer together. One of the most beautiful, fun gaming experiences of my life. Currently playing it over again a second time. It will always hold a special place in my heart. 😊
